……

National Wrestling Superstars opened the month of March right where it had left off in February, with another spectacular sold out show, as a Standing Room Only crowd filled all the seats and packed all sides and corners of the Point Pleasant Beach, NJ Elks Lodge on Saturday night March 1st to see a night of pro wrestling action, and as usual NWS did not disappoint.

(1) In a non-title three-way elimination match, The Heretic defeated NWS Cruiserweight Champion J.D. Smoothie and Mighty Mikey Pacifica. For most of the match, Smoothie and Heretic ganged up on Mikey to try and keep the high-flyer grounded. Mikey fought on, and was on the verge of winning after hitting a back-cracker on Heretic, when Smoothie dragged him out of the ring, and started whipping Mikey with the strap that the two of them will be attached to when they battle in Neptune on March 22. Both Smoothie and Pacifica were counted out of the ring and the match was awarded to The Heretic.

(2) Ryan Blackheart and Cameron Shaft wrestled to a time limit draw in a battle of big men that saw much brawling and submission holds. The time ran out as Blackheart, after several attempts, slapped on a sharpshooter in the center of the ring, only to have the time limit expire before he could make Shaft tap out. Both men shook hands in sportsmanship after the match.

(3) The NWS Jersey Shore Title Match between champion Nicky Oceans (with Julio Dinero & Miss Michelle) and number-one contender Rhett Titus was declared a no-contest. Commissioner Moore sent Dinero back to the locker room, but Michelle having a valid manager's license was allowed to stay. The two men, who had some of the best one-on-one matches of 2007, put on another match-of-the-year show. Titus was determined not to be denied this night, and after a hard-fought battle, slapped on his reverse crossface submission, and Oceans tapped out in front of referee Mike "Quick Count" Dillon. The crowd roared as Titus was handed the NWS Jersey Title belt and celebrated. But then, out from the back came referee S.P. Anderson, who was waving a piece of paper saying that referee Mike Dillon had waived his referee duties that night in order to be the manager of Tony "Mr. USA" Atlas in the main event. NWS Commissioner Gino Moore examined the paperwork and proclaimed regrettably that Dillon had indeed referee'd the match in violation of the rules, and was forced to declare the match a no-contest and Oceans was still the NWS Jersey Shore Champion, but since Titus was still the number-one contender, he would have a rematch with Oceans on May 3 in Brick. As the crowd boo'ed, Commissioner Moore chewed out Dillon, saying this was all his fault. An angry Mike Dillon lunged at S.P. Anderson and the two started to brawl before they were separated. Commissioner Moore announced that on May 3 in Brick, Dillon and Anderson would have a one-on-one wrestling match, and the winner would referee the Nicky Oceans-Rhett Titus rematch.

(4) Former WWE & WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot defeated one-time ECW brawler The Equalizer (with manager Rocco Dorsey). The match turned hardore-style quickly, just as in the past when these two have met. The two men fought all over the arena, including the sound table and even the VFW Hall's bar, using chairs, straps, and whatever they could use as weapons against each other. The Patriot ended up DDT'ing Equalizer onto a chair and pinning him 1-2-3 to get the victory. The celebration was short-lived, as a slew of Dorsey's friends in the locker room (Julio Dinero, J.D. Smoothie, Nicky Oceans, Heretic, The Great Garafolo) stormed the ring and attacked The Patriot. They were chased off quickly as WWE legend Tony "Mr. USA" Atlas came to the aid of his fellow red-white-and-blue-wearing friend.

(5) In a Ladies Match, Roxxie Cotton defeated Rebecca Payne, as Roxxie continued her rise up the ranks of women's wrestling, pinning Payne after a flying legdrop.

(6) "The World's Oddest Tag-Team" Slayer & Resin won by disqualification over The Great Garafolo & Corey Havoc (with manager Rocco Dorsey) after interference from The Equalizer. Slayer & Resin used their unpredictable styles to keep their opponents at bay most of the match. After Slayer leveled both opponents on the outside with a flying body press from the top rope, The Equalizer came out and attacked both Slayer and Resin, prompting the referee to call for the disqualification. Equalizer seized the microphone and said he was ticked off that a pair of creatures like Slayer & Resin get a better slot on the card than a former ECW star. He challenged Slayer & Resin to a tag-team match against him and a partner to be named. Commissioner Moore upped the ante, and announced that on May 3 in Brick, Equalizer would team up with The Great Garafolo and a mystery partner, with Dorsey managing, against "The World's Oddest Six-Man Tag-Team" of Slayer, Resin, and the brain-eating one-time ECW wrestler The Zombie.

(7) In the Main Event, WWE hall-of-famer Tony "Mr. USA" Atlas (with manager Mike "Quick Count" Dillon) defeated ECW original Julio Dinero (with Miss Michelle). The veteran Atlas looked in top form as he initially tossed Dinero around the ring, but Dinero used his experienced tactics to keep Atas down as well. Atlas eventually came back to dominate, and after a flying head-butt off the top rope and a splash, pinned Dinero 1-2-3 to get the victory and send the crowd home happy.
