NWS North Middletown, NJ 5/10 Results: Over 400 Fans Pack In To See WWE's Former Star Known As Eugene, Four Former ECW Originals, Former WWE Oddity Giant Silva In a Four-On-One Handicap Match, A Six-Man Tag-Team Bunkhouse Brawl, Lacey Von Erich & More From The Promotion That Never Has Trouble Filling The Seats

On the eve of Mother's Day, with all the flowers ordered, cards filled out, and presents wrapped, over 400 wrestling fans filled the ringside and bleacher seats of the St. Catherine's Church Gym to see National Wrestling Superstars' return to the Bayshore area of New Jersey. And what a return it was, with seven action-packed bouts and a plethora of WWE & ECW stars of yesterday, today, and (hopefully) tommorow.

In an opening tag-team bout, J.D. Smoothie & "Firebird" Jorge Santi defeated NWS Jersey Shore Champion Nicky Oceans & Danny Demanto. All four men brawled inside & outside the ring. Demanto missed a moonsault splash on Santi, who clotheslined him out of the ring. This distracted DEmanto's partner Oceans just long enough for Smoothie to roll up Oceans from behind for the 1-2-3.

Former ECW star Julio Dinero came out to the ring with not one, but two managers - his always-present manager Miss Michelle, and a newer face in Gigalo Jones. Julio spent several minutes putting down the fans, and putting down his opponent for later that night, former WWE RAW star Eugene.

Mighty Mikey Pacifica won a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match against Dan Rageous, "Jumping" Joey Janella & Golden Lynx. With four of NWS' high-flyers involved, the action was, as expected, more in the air then on the ground, and even spilled to the outside where Jumping Joey took out his opponents with a moonsault from the top of the bleachers. Jumping Joey pinned and eliminated Rageous after Rageous missed a moonsault of his own off the top rope, but then was eliminated by Golden Lynx after a somersault splash. After Pacifica and Lynx battled for several more minutes, Pacifica broke up a superplex attempt by Lynx and hit him with a flying hurricanrana off the top rope and covered him for the 1-2-3.

In one of the more unusual spectacles to be seen in an NWS ring, former WWE Oddities member Giant Silva defeated four other wrestlers (Jack Spade, B. Fehrm, Bobby Youngblood & The Shadow) in a four-on-one "Gulliver's Travels Match". The four wrestlers brought a fishnet to the ring, and their goal was to capture the seven-footer any way they could. Despite their best efforts, Silva was just too strong, and escaped the fishnet, and chokeslammed all four opponents and sat on top of all four for the 1-2-3 pin.

In a battle of former ECW originals, The Blue Meanie (with "Goumba" Johnny Diamond defeated "Dastardly" Danny Doring (with Gigalo Jones & Julio Dinero). Dinero was sent back to the locker room by Commissioner Moore for not having a manager's license, After initially not being able to out-wrestle Meanie, Doring challenged Meanie to a dance-off before the match started. Meanie was the obvious fans' choice, which only angered Doring into attacking Meanie further. But Meanie outlasted Doring's assaults, and hit his own version of a stone cold stunner for the pinfall. Doring's buddies Julio Dinero, The Equalizer, and J.D. Smoothie ran into the ring to attack Meanie four-on-one, but were driven off by Giant Silva and WWE RAW star Eugene (who was armed with a water squirt bottle).

Former WWE protege Lacey Von Erich defeated former ECW Women's Champion Angel Orsini (with Miss Michelle). The ECW veteran Angel expected to make short work of Lacey, but Lacey's heritage was apparent, as she outlasted Angel's assault and slapped a Von Erich Clawhold on Angel, which put her down for the 1-2-3.

In a wild Six-Man Tag-Team Bunkhouse Brawl, "Outlaw" Shane O'Brien & Nate Mustang & The Jersey Cowboy defeated former ECW brawler The Equalizer & Corey Havoc & Klondike Kevin Krush. This match was everywhere and involved everything that wasn't nailed down, including chairs, trash can lids, poles, and other assorted weapons. In the end, Equalizer powerbombed Mustang onto a chair, and while he was bragging to the audience, Klondike came in and tried to get what he thought was an easy pinfall, but Mustang reversed it and pinned Klondike 1-2-3 to get the victory for his team. Equalizer attacked Klondike afterwards for "embarassing him", but Security broke it up. Commissioner Moore announced that Equalizer would face Klondike one-on-one when NWS returned to Middletown in July.

In the main event, former WWE RAW star Eugene defeated former ECW star Julio Dinero (with Miss Michelle & Gigalo Jones). Eugene started by clowning around, but they both eventually got down to business, with Dinero and Michelle double-teaming Eugene. Eugene withstood the assault and eventually "hulked up" and hit Dinero with a boot to the face, leg drop, and a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Dinero countered with a Diamond Cutter, and attempted a Stinger Splash on Eugene, but missed and took out referee Kenny Edwards instead. Equalizer attempted to interfere while the referee was out, but Eugene put him in a Sharpshooter. J.D. Smoothie tried to help his friend out too, but he fell victim to Eugene's Pedigree. Dinero threw a handful of powder in Eugene's face and tried to pin him as referee Mike Dillon came to the ring, but he only got a two-count, and an angry Dinero knocked out Dillon. Dinero then hit Eugene with a chain, and Gigalo Jones held Eugene for a Superkick from Dinero, but Eugene ducked and Jones got taken out instead. Eugene then hit a Rock Bottom on Dinero, but Miss Michelle ran into the ring to distract Eugene, and Eugene grabbed her and kissed her instead. Eugene then hit a Stone Cold Stunner on Dinero, and a groggy Kenny Edwards made the three-count, giving Eugene the victory & sending the fans home happy.

NWS returns to action this Friday night May 16th at 7:45pm at the Kenilworth, NJ Veterans Center, and on Saturday night May 17th at the Central Jersey Italian-American Club Showgrounds in Jackson, NJ, with a special outdoor show beginning at 8:00pm (rain date is the next night May 18th at 7:00pm), which will include NWS paying tribute to soon-to-be-retiring WWE hall of fame manager Captain Lou Albano who will be making his last NJ wrestling appearance that night.
