NWS Brick, NJ 5/3 Results: Over 300 fill the Brick Elks Lodge, WWE legends The Honky-Tonk Man & Ken Patera & Chris Masters Rock The House, Nicky Oceans Steals Another Victory From Rhett Titus, ECW Brawlers Battle & More From NWS' Always-Packed Jersey Shore Destination

National Wrestling Superstars returned to its undisputed Jersey Shore home venue, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge, last Saturday night May 3rd. NWS management, concerned about high gas prices and tough economic times squeezing their fans, were happy to entertain a crowd of around 335 loud screaming fans that night. (The extra 35 were rumored to be fans who stumbled upon the Brick Elks Lodge after having been lost since Friday night searching for a pro wrestling show at Bellville, NJ's Branch Brook Manor.) You see boys and girls, the word "pro" means the participants get paid, and since that was not the case on Friday night in Belleville, you can rest assured that not only did those 35 misguided souls see an always lackluster performance from the likes of "boy did I screw up listening to this bunch of humps" Francis the talking Mule (sorry for insulting the mule population of America) and "boo hoo hoo why doesn't the fed sign me and I'll have my mommy call the promoter" Paul E. Normus, whose career in wrestling (if you can call it a career) skyrocketed to new heights on this past Friday night.

In an inter-gender tag-team opening bout, NWS Cruiserweight Champion J.D. Smoothie & former ECW Women's Champion Angel Orsini (with manager Raynor Fire) defeated Mighty Mikey Pacifica & Monique. This match had a pair of tough brawling ladies matched up with the familiar high fliers in Smoothie and Pacifica. Angel ended the match with a powerbomb and pin on Mikey Pacifica, giving her team the victory.

Before the second match, NWS manager and former NWA Canadian Heavyweight Champion Rocco Dorsey came out to the ring with his stable of Ace Darling, former ECW brawler The Equalizer, and "The Adjuster" Doctor Lamar Braxton Porter. The Adjuster was scheduled to face recent WWE RAW star "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters, and crooned on about how he would break The Masterlock and Masters' back in the process. The Adjuster also noticed the presence of WWE legendary strongman Ken Patera signing autographs in the back, and took some time to disrespect Patera as well.  Masters himself came to ringside, to the cheers of the fans, and promised a much different outcome. Ace Darling also took the time to talk about how he would take apart his scheduled opponent for the night, WWE legend The Honky-Tonk Man.

Fred "Bonecrusher" Sampson defeated Corey Havoc. The Jersey standout and occasional WWE dark match wrestler Sampson made short work of Havoc, defeating him with a powerslam and pin.

In a non-title match, NWS NJ Heavyweight Champion Vicious Vin defeated Mike Matixx. Matixx attempted to out-brawl the champ early, but Vin eventually took control and pinned Matixx after a modified Michinoku Driver.

In a battle of referees, S.P. Anderson (with Rocco Dorsey & Nicky Oceans) defeated Mike "Quick Count" Dillon to win the right to referee the Nicky Oceans-Rhett Titus Title Match later in the night. Anderson came out with manager Rocco Dorsey and Nicky Oceans, which gave Dillon a disadvantage from the beginning. NWS Commissioner Gino Moore sent Oceans back to the dressing room, but Dorsey gave his charge the ultimate advantage when he announced that he had managed to get Ace Darling named as the referee for the match. As expected, Ace called the match right down the middle... of Anderson's corner that is, giving his stablemate fast counts and leeway in all his attempts to cheat. Despite the odds, Dillon battled back and was able to hit a side slam on Anderson, but Ace let Rocco distract him from the pinfall, allowing Nicky Oceans to run back into the ring and level Dillon with a superkick. Anderson then covered Dillon as Ace (no longer distracted, of course) counted the pinfall for Anderson.

In a six-man tag-team battle, the "world's oddest tag-team" of former ECW'er The Zombie & Slayer & Resin defeated former ECW brawler The Equalizer & his teammates The Great Garafolo & Ryan Blackheart (with Rocco Dorsey). This match was literally all over the building, as the six participants flew and brawled in every corner of the ring and the building itself. While their partners were brawling outside the ring, Slayer caught Garafolo in a Tornado DDT off the top rope and referee Kenny Edwards (who had evaded several attempts by The Zombie to eat his brains during the match) made the three-count for Slayer and his team.

Former WWE RAW superstar "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters defeated "The Adjuster" Dr. Lamar Braxton Porter (with Raynor Fire), with WWE legend "The World's Strongest Man" Ken Patera as special referee. Patera, who was still smarting from The Adjuster's offending remarks earlier in the evening, was more than happy to keep him in his place. Masters, who looked like he had not lost a step or a muscle since his WWE RAW days, was able to match his big opponent power for power. Fire provided outside interference on her charge's behalf, but after one too many attempts to interfere, Masters took matters, not to mention Fire herself, into his own hands and gave her a spanking for being such a bad girl, with an assist from Patera himself. Masters then slapped on The Masterlock himself, and won by submission to the cheers of the crowd.

NWS Jersey Shore Champion Nicky Oceans retained the title against challenger Rhett Titus, with S.P. Anderson as referee. As expected, Anderson stacked the odds in favor of his stablemate Oceans, turning a blind eye to Oceans' cheating tactics all night, and slow-counting Titus' pin attempts. When Titus looked like he had finally put Oceans away with a flying legdrop, Anderson flat-out refused to finish the three-count, complaining of "shoulder soreness". Titus had clearly had enough and was ready to give Anderson some real soreness, when Ace Darling ran to the ring and clotheslined Titus across the top rope, allowing Oceans to hit a belly-to-back suplex on Titus and get a (predictably quick) three-count to retain his title. Titus seized the microphone and challenged Oceans to a rematch at the end of May when NWS visits his home town of Lacey Township.

WWE legend The Honky-Tonk Man defeated Ace Darling (with Rocco Dorsey & referee S.P. Anderson). Honky-Tonk was singing and clapping with the crowd, but when the bell rang he got down to business. Despite having a manager in his corner and a stablemate as the referee, Ace was reluctant to get in the ring with the WWE veteran, but the two eventually got it on, trading holds for several minutes which frustrated Ace further. The two ended up brawling inside and outside the ring, and exchanging choke holds with Ace's write tape. When Honky-Tonk hit a double axe-handle on Ace, Anderson once again aborted the three-count on his stablemate, prompting Honky-Tonk to seize Anderson and toss him out of the ring. He then hit the Shake-Rattle-And-Roll on Ace, and referee Mike Dillon ran in to make the three-count, giving Honky-Tonk Man the victory and sending the fans home happy.
