National Wrestling Superstars Results From Carteret, NJ 8/25 With Goldust, Traci Brooks, Heartthrob Antonio Thomas & More

On the heels of the very successful "Legends Of The Ring" convention that day, National Wrestling Superstars brought several legends, along with their own stars, to the air-conditioned Holy Family Parish Hall in Carteret, NJ on Saturday night August 25th for a night of hot wrestling action. Despite the array of legends in the house, it was a disappointing night attendance-wise, with the crowd numbering around the 200 mark.

Before the show, former WWE & WCW legends Big Van Vader and "The Total Package" Lex Luger, along with former WWE Women's Champion Ivory, came over from the Legends convention to greet the fans.

NWS Jersey Shore Champion Nicky Oceans retained his title in a three-way dance against Wasted Youth & J.D. Smooth.
The action was all over the ring, and outside as well, from the opening bell. Oceans and Smooth attempted to double-team Wasted Youth, but a hurt shoulder by Smooth midway through the match forced Oceans to battle Wated Youth one-on-one. Oceans finally put away Youth with an enzuguri kick to the head and a 1-2-3 pinfall to retain the title.

Monsta Mack defeated Bison Bravado.
In a battle of two big, strong, and tough Jersey veterans, it was Mack who won out with a lariat on Bison and a 1-2-3 pinfall.

NWS Cruiserweight Champion Dan Rageous and Mikey Pacifica fought to a time-limit draw.
In a return title match from last weekend in Neptune, where Pacifica beat Rageous for the title, the two tore into each other with high-flying and hard-hitting moves inside and outside the ring. Neither man could get the advantage on the other, and the time limit expired with no winner. As the two continued to brawl and were separated by Security, Commissioner Gino Moore announced that the two would have a rematch in Middletown, NJ on November 2nd, with no time limit.

Former WWE tag-team The Oddities (Giant Silva & Goal-Duh) won by disqualification over former WWE star Salvatore Sincere & T.N.T (w/ Royce Profit & Danny Doring & Antonio "The Promise" Thomas).
The long-awaited reunion of The Oddities was not cheered by Sincere & TNT, as they were clearly outsized by the 7-foot-plus Giant Silva and his no-small-potatoes-either partner Goal-Duh. Sincere & T.N.T managed to isolate Goal-Duh in their corner (the first time in a long time he was actually the smaller member of an NWS tag-team), but eventually Giant Silva got back into the match and cleaned house. Doring and Thomas came to the aid of their teammates, causing the referee to call for a disqualification. Giant Silva was overpowered by Doring and Thomas and T.N.T until former WWE stars Goldust and The Patriot ran in to make the save. Doring and Thomas challenged Goldust and The Patriot to meet them in the main event, and they happily accepted.

In a match billed as a "Carteret Catfight", TNA star Miss Traci Brooks defeated rival TNA diva Nikki Roxx.
After having fought to a no-contest last month in Long Branch, these two ladies needed no motivation to fight as they attacked each other before the bell even rang, and fought inside and outside the ring (mostly outside), exchanging kicks, slaps, and punches. Former WWE Women's Champion Ivory even got involved, lending an assist to her friend Traci when the fight spilled over to her autograph table. In the end, Traci managed to catch Nikki in a small package for the 1-2-3 pinfall victory.

In the main event, former WWE stars Goldust & The Patriot defeated former WWE star Antonio "The Promise" Thomas & former ECW star "Dastardly" Danny Doring (w/ Royce Profit).
This fight was all over the place from the opening bell. Doring and Thomas were no slouches when it comes to tag-team wrestling, but Goldust and The Patriot kept their opponents at bay, and despite Doring and Thomas' attempts to double-team Goldust, he and The Patriot cleaned house in the end. Goldust made sure that Doring would never forget his name, as he hit him with his patented Shattered Dreams, then bulldogged Thomas and pinned him 1-2-3 for the victory. Goldust and The Patriot even managed to catch and level Royce Profit after the match, sending the fans home happy.

Additional notes from NWS:

  • In the three-way NWS Jersey Shore Match, Wasted Youth was filling in for a no-show called Chris Steeler, who, in the words of NWS management, "had a case of terminal hangnail and a run in his panty hose, as this IWF stooge apparently beckoned to a higher calling - there was a job fair at McDonalds."
  • NWS promoters hastily reworked the main event into a first class arena-style match with one-half of the former ECW tag-team champions Danny Doring teamed together with one-half of the former WWE tag-team champion Heartthrobs Antonio Thomas. Doring was lifted out of another spot in the show and inserted into the main event in place of the ever-increasingly unreliable Johnny Candido, who for the second week in a row no-showed his so-called home promotion, which as far as NWS management is concerned has become his former home promotion.

NWS returns to action in Edison, NJ on Friday September 7th & Saturday September 8th, with three mini-shows as part of the Edison Family Festival Of Fireworks & Street Fair along Amboy Avenue, Friday night at 7:45pm, and Saturday at 4:00pm and 7:45pm. Admission to those shows is free.
