Simon Diamond, Balls Mahoney, Dapper Johnny Falco and more…..

National Wrestling Superstars made their yearly trek to the Seashore Day Camp in Long Branch, NJ on Friday, July 29th and once again, the fate of the camp would be determined by which manager won the most matches.  Over the past 4 years, NWS manager Dapper Johnny Falco has vowed to wrest the camp away from owner Coach John by promising that his charges would win more matches at the camp.  This year, he brought his attorney, Mr. Cheetem from the firm of Lye, Cheetem and Takem to make sure that things were on the up and up and had contracts drawn to "make things legal".  The contracts stipulated that control of Seashore Day Camp came down to one match...the main event.  But before that could happen, the camp was chance to see many up and coming wrestlers strut their stuff and show off their abilities and the crowd knew right away who to cheer and who to boo.

The opening contest was a rematch from an NWS show in Wildwood two weeks ago as Dirty Dan Petit took on Antonio Malave.  While there was some question in Wildwood as to who received the most cheers, it was obvious that in Long Branch, Petit tried to get under the skin of all those watching, attacking Malave as he was playing to the fans.  Petit worked on the legs of Malave, trying to prevent the high-flyer from hitting any of his hard-hitting moves, and kept Malave grounded for much of the match.  Malave made a come-back, using a series of flips and kicks, but the damage was done and Petit scored the victory (albeit with the use of the ropes, as most in the first few rows pointed out to the referee)

Next saw former NWS regional heavyweight champion TNT, accompanied to ringside by Seashore's Coach John, take on Eddie "Ripper" Collins, who was joined not only by Dapper Johnny Falco, but Falco's attorney, Mr. Cheetem.  Collins, who had a remarkable match last week in Manasquan against B. Mahoney, had hoped to impress NWS officials by defeating the former champion.  TNT started the match using big man tactics (i.e. kicks to the head off the rope, chops, etc.), but thanks to Falco and Cheetem, found his way to the mat.  Once there, Collins used the boots and ropes to keep the big man down.  Then, he distracted the referee, allowing his manager and associate to assist him.  After about 9 minutes, Collins pulled the referee to the side and Falco hit TNT with his attorney's attache case. The referee turned around and saw it and disqualified Collins.  Falco was enraged and hit everyone with his surprise in the bag...a Yellow Page phone book.  Then Falco called out Saddam Insane, Tommy Force and Simon Diamond to make it a 5 on 1 before B. Mahoney, Nicky Oceans and Slayer came to the ring to even the score.  It was announced that the main event would be Mahoney, Slayer and Oceans vs Insane, Force and Diamond for control of the Seashore Day Camp.

Next saw the first ever appearance at Seashore Day Camp of J.D. Smooth as he took on one-half of the NWS tag team champions, Fierce Fuego from Los Diablos Locos.  Fans in Long Branch adored the tag team champion as he took time to shake the hand of every kid who reached out, which took almost 10 minutes for him to actually reach the ring.  The longer it took, the more irate Smooth became and he started yelling at the referee to "get him in the ring".  As Fuego came through the ropes, Smooth attacked him, putting him down on the mat.  Rather than trying to wear down his opponent, Smooth was more concerned about removing the mask and showing the fans "what this coward really looks like".  One thing he (or any wrestler should know), is not to ever, ever try to remove a mask of a wrestler.  They protect their identity and will do whatever it takes to do so.  But Smooth did not get his name by accident and immediately switched to the legs, much as Dirtbag Dan did in the opening contest, to keep the high-flying Fuego from mounting an attack.  One thing he didn't count on was his ferocious chops that Fuego used on Smooth, causing him to show a little color from the effects.  At the end, Fuego lifted Smooth to the top turnbuckle and prepared to suplex him into the ring, however Smooth caught the top rope and dropped Fuego on the mat and grabbed the ropes for the 3 count.  Coach John came out and said he used the ropes and after discussing it with NWS Officials (not Gino Moore, who was celebrating his birthday), the match was re-started and Fuego hit Smooth with a Michinuko Driver for the pin and the win.

After a brief intermission, Dapper Johnny Falco and his attorney brought his team of Simon Diamond, Saddam Insane and Tommy Force to the ring.  Falco went on the microphone and told fans they were in for a treat and promised all the counselors that even though they weren't going to get a raise when he took over ownership of the camp, they would be able to keep their jobs...if they donated 10% of their salaries back to his legal fund.  Then out came Coach John with former ECW star and current WWE dark match favorite Balls Mahoney accompanied by the crazed Slayer and Nicky Oceans. Falco continued spewing trash to Coach John over the microphone before the referee ordered the power cut and the match started.  Diamond and Mahoney started the match, each getting their shots in over the other before Balls tagged in Slayer, who was beaten down by Diamond.  Then Diamond tagged in Tommy Force and Slayer tagged in Nicky Oceans.  Oceans was beaten down by Force, who then tagged in Insane, who squashed Oceans in the corner.  After a tag to Diamond, Nicky caught the NWA TNA star in a sunset flip, but while rolling him down, caught the back of his trunks, causing Diamond to show a little "moon".  Oceans made the tag to Balls and the two went back at it.  As Simon went to hit Mahoney with a clothesline, Balls ducked and Diamond hit the referee instead.  With the ref down, Diamond went to take off his boot and hit Balls with it.  Balls took the boot instead and started hitting Diamond with it.  Then he took off the other boot and it was a contest of who could hit who first. Mahoney scored a direct hit to Diamond's head and as the referee came to, got the 3 count and the win.  It was not over as Mahoney, who saw the nearby pool, picked up Simon Diamond, carried him to the deep end and dropped him into the water, much to the delight of everyone, except for Dapper Johnny, who once again, failed to gain control of Seashore Day Camp.
