National Wrestling Superstars Results From Manville VFW
Just like the change of seasons, you can always count on National Wrestling Superstars to return to the Manville VFW Hall where the fans pack in the seats and cheer on their favorites. Tonight (Friday, May 7th) was no exception as the fans got what they always expect from an NWS event…excitement…and plenty of it.
Match #1
Brittney Savage and Mr. Entertainment J.D. Smoothie defeated Jumpin Joey Janela and Tina San Antonio in an inter-gender showdown that saw both teams battle in and out of the ring before Savage got the 1-2-3 on San Antonio.
Match #2
Battle of the flyers saw Chikara Wrestling’s Frightmare go to a 10 minute draw with Ring of Honor star Alex Payne. Payne asked the crowd for 5 more minutes but the time limit expired. Both wrestlers shook hands after the match.
Match #3
Heel vs Heel tag team as The Nigerian Nightmares (with Voodoo Princess Sheeta) take on the team of The Love Machine Nicky Oceans and Pat Buck. Buck and Oceans held their own against the larger team and looked like they may defeat the Nigerians but as Buck was holding the smaller of the Nightmares, Oceans went for a punch but the Nigerian Nightmare ducked and Oceans hit Buck. They started to brawl and were counted out of the ring. Commissioner Gino More, ordered security to break them up and told both Oceans and Buck to stop. He told them he had an open spot on next week’s show in Flemington and that they could settle their differences there and sent them to the back.
The Nigerians, still wanting a victory were looking into the crowd when Sheeta chased ring announcer Destiny into the ring. As the Nigerians were about to attack, Security charged the ring and were totally destroyed by the Nightmares. This allowed Destiny to escape and the Nightmares, still upset from the fact they didn’t get a victory, continued to pummel the hapless security guards before referees got security out of the ring and safely to the locker room area where they were attended to by local EMT’s.
After intermission, fans were told to show their weapons as they were about to see a first ever NWS Manville Street Fight Tag Team Match. The first team out were Jack Spade and one half of the Baghdad Bullies Hasheem “Chemical” Ali. As they were being introduced, Rich “Ice Pick” Lowinski and Indian Chief Draven charged the ring and the battle started. They brawled inside and outside of the ring using such weapons as a Lemon Pie, Golf Club, Clock, Stop Sign, Nintendo, Chairs, Skate Boards, Guitar, Chains (you name it, they brought it). The fans weren’t safe either as they were hit with the pie as it was used. After 14 minutes, Draven and Ice Pick put their opponents on a table in the ring and jumped off the corner posts and getting a double pin.
Match #5
This was a match for the NWS Jersey Shore title pitting champion “G.Q.” Myke Quest against Dave Cole. These two battled back and forth and had the fans on the edge of their seats. At the 8 minute mark, Cole had Quest with his head outside the ring and did a leg drop across Quests neck. Quest snapped his neck back and opened up a wound on the back of his neck but managed to finish the bout and retain his title with a 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring.
Main Event
The main event saw Reality Check members Danny Demanto and Kevin Matthews take on two former TV wrestling legends in the likes of the Blue Meanie and the wrestler formerly known as Rikishi. This bout had lots of action and comedy as Demanto and Matthews challenged their opponents to a Dance Off in the middle of the ring. It looked as though Reality Check may actually have pulled off the victory over Blue Meanie but he was able to make the tag and Kishi came in and cleaned house, doing a butt drop on Demanto for the win. The match didn’t end there as fans were chanting for a Stink Face which Kishi gladly obliged and hit it on Demanto, sending the fans home happy.
Notes: TNA Stars Angelina Love and Sonji Dutt were at the show taking in the action and observing and interacting with the NWS fans.
