……

Before a near-capacity crowd of excited wrestling fans at the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Parish Hall in Seaside Heights, NJ, National Wrestling Superstars staged its final edition of "Shore Wars" for the Summer of 2007 on Thursday night August 16th. No vehicles were blown up during the course of the show, no lawyers were involved, and there are no illegitimate children of any NWS management running around (that we know about).

NWS started the show by commemorating the 30th anniversary of the passing of Elvis Presley by introducing their own Fighting Elvis, who came into the ring singing "Burning Love". Unfortunately, Elvis was "All Shook Up" as The Psychadelic Sissies and their manager Rocco Dorsey attacked him and threw him out of the ring.

Wasted Youth vs. Corrupted Youth ended in a double-disqualification.
This was a long-brewing battle of who was the real wrestling "Youth" of NWS. Neither man could gain the advantage with wrestling moves, so they brought in a chair and kendo stick respectively. When referee Mike Dillon ordered them both to put down the weapons, they both attacked him together, causing the double-disqualification, then kept battling in the ring and all the way back to the dressing room.

NWS Tag-Team Champions The Psychedelic Studs (w/ Rocco Dorsey) retained their titles against The Great Garafalo & Mikey Pacifica.
Despite being outsized, Garafalo and Pacifica held their own against the battled-hardened Studs, but the presence of Dorsey on the outside proved to be the deciding factor, as he distracted the referee from a Pacifica pinning attempt, and eventually the Studs overpowered Garafalo and pinned him to retain their titles once again.

J.D. Smooth defeated Ryan Blackheart.
Blackheart was making his NWS debut, and the big man was nothing short of impressive in his first match as he used his power and wrestling skills to keep Smoothie at bay for most of the match, and nearly got him to tap out to a Texas Cloverleaf. But the veteran Smoothie needed only one opening and got it when he held on during a sunset flip attempt by Blackheart into a sitdown pinfall for the 1-2-3 victory. Blackheart grabbed the mic and stated "This is not over by a long shot!" The fans can be sure these two will meet again.

Rhett Titus won by disqualification over Johnny Candido (w/ King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq & Danny Demanto).
Titus' star has been rising all year in NWS, and tonight he stepped up to face a former NWS Hardcore Champion in Candido. After Demanto was sent back to the dressing room by Commissioner Gino Moore, the fight was on. And a fight it was, as both big men pulled out all the stops, Titus with his strength & heart and Candido with his toughness and experience. In the end, it looked like Titus would upset the veteran Candido as he locked on his reverse crossface submission hold, but then Danny Demanto ran in to break up the hold, and despite King Stinq's attempts to distract the referee, he eventually saw Demanto's interference and disqualified Candido. Demanto and Candido continued to attack Titus until WWE hall-of-famer Tito Santana, who had been signing autographs earlier in the evening, ran out from the dressing room and chased Demanto and Candido from the ring. Demanto challenged Santana to put on the trunks and wrestle him in the main event, and Santana accepted.

Nicky Oceans became the *NEW* NWS Jersey Shore Champion by defeating Travis Blake.
This was Oceans' last chance to regain the title from Blake, and he made the most of it, attacking Blake from the opening bell. The two battled furiously, and neither man could gain the advantage. Blake eventually locked Oceans in a Sharpshooter and it looked like he would get the submission victory, but unfortunately for him Oceans' allies The Psychedelic Sissies distracted the referee and attacked Blake, allowing Oceans to get the pinfall and walk out as the new champion.

Former WWE Intercontinental & Tag-Team Champion Tito Santana defeated Danny Demanto (w/ King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq).
The veteran Santana showed he could still get it done in the ring, against another indy veteran opponent in Demanto. Demanto appeared nervous about locking up with Santana, looking like he was wondering if he had gotten in over his head. The two finally locked up, and Demanto was able to use his power and arsenal of tricks to keep the veteran Santana at bay. Demanto went for his flying body splash finisher against Santana, but missed, and eventually found himself on the receiving end of Santana's flying forearm, and was pinned 1-2-3 for the victory. The victory celebration was interrupted by Demanto's friend Johnny Candido, who challenged Santana to meet him on Saturday night (August 18th) in Neptune, NJ. Santana accepted. Demanto then took the mic and confessed that Santana had impressed him that night, but he wanted a rematch on Friday night (August 17th) in Belleville, NJ, which Santana also accepted. The crowd went home happy, as NWS promised they would try to return to Seaside Heights later in the year.

NWS continues next Saturday night August 25th, NWS follows up the "Legends Of The Ring" convention in Carteret, NJ with a show in Carteret at the Holy Family Parish Hall, with appearances by Dustin Runnels, Big Van Vader, and Lex Luger, just to name a few.
