National Wrestling Superstars completed a successful January with over 1000 people watching (and another 100 or so turned away in Brick on Saturday) and learning why NWS is the hottest indy promotion today.  Please take a look at the NWS fan picture site (http://home.comcast.net/~NWSfan/) to see the crowds enjoying all the action.
This past Saturday, the NWS made their debut at the Brick Elks Lodge and the building was packed to fire capacity with more than 400 wrestling-starved fans who were very vocal from the time the referee first stepped into the ring.
The opening contest saw TNT, accompanied to ringside by his NWS tag team partner Saddam Inane and Royce Profit def Bulldog Mike Cullare with a choke slam.
Next saw the tag team of Ice Fire Steve Zapf and Nicky Oceans join forces to defeat Gavin Quest and Rob Morrisy when Morrisey tapped out the STF.
The third bout saw Slayer def FwF (NWS Delaware affiliate) Cruiserweight champion J.D. Smooth in a non-title bout.
Hasheem Ali, accompanied to ringside by Greg "The Hammer" Valentine def Andrew Shaft. After the match, The Patriot ran to ringside to alert the referee that Valentine passed a weapon to Ali, who used it on Shaft.  The match was re-started and Shaft rolled Ali up for the pin.  After the decision was announced, Valentine, Johnny Candido, Ryan Mahar, Royce Profit and Mr. Motion Shane Taylor attacked the two "faces" and kept up the assault until the fan favorites came from the locker room area for the save.  It was announced that the next show in Brick on May 6 would feature a tag team match pitting Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Johnny Candido against The Patriot and John "Balls" Mahoney.
After an intermission that allowed the fans to interact with the wrestlers, take photos, get autographs, etc., was a giant 6 person inter-gender tag team match pitting Sports Agent Ryan Mahar, Mr. Motion Shane Taylor and Saddam Insane, managed by Rocco Dorsey against Corrupted Youth, Pryme Tyme Amy Lee and Angel, who were managed by former WWE champion The Iron Sheik.  The finish came when Pryme Tyme locked Ryan Mahar in the Sheik's camel clutch.  As stipulated in the contract, if Mahar lost, he would be out of wrestling forever, and NWS Commissioner Gino Moore had security throw him out of the building.
The main event saw Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake def Johnny Candido, who was accompanied to ringside by Royce Profit in a loser gets a haircut match. Candido, who was pinned, ran from the ring, leaving his manager to take the haircut from the former WWE tag team champion.
Next NWS event: Saturday, February 11th in Edison at St. Matthews School Gym.

Hurricane informed the fans that Tracy Smothers would not be able to attend tonight's event due to personal reasons, but he will return soon.

The event opened with the "Supreme Commander" and reigning EWF Champion JT Zorin telling the fans that he has given  mandatory vacations tonight to Bob, Anarchy, Rastakhan, The Tsunami's, Steve Amani, and Pheonix.  He says that there is no one left for Hurricane to put against him tonight in the EWF Championship match, where if he wins, he can legally change the company name to the ZWF.  Zorin says he will take it upon himself to find a suitable challenger.

The 2006 X8 Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006.

* New Era Title:  Jack Thriller (c) beat Jimmy Shalwin

* EWF Title:  JT Zorin (c) vs. MIA

Zorin chooses MIA to be his challenger.  Zorin tells MIA to lay down to be pinned.  Then suddenly the lights go out.  When the lights come back on... Osyris is standing behind Zorin in the ring.  Zorin turns around to be greeted with a devastating spear by Big O.

Osyris says that he has gotten nothing from Zorin since joining Team Zorin.   He says that time after time Zorin never gave him opportunities to win any of the championships, but now its time for Big O to look after himself and he wants Zorin's EWF Heavyweight Title!

Zorin refuses to face Osyris and leaves the ring.  Hurricane then reveals that in the contract Zorin signed for the match to be able to rename the company, it states that Zorin must defend his championship every Saturday night as long as Zorin holds the belt.  And that next week, Zorin MUST face Osyris for the title!

Also, the company name will remain the EWF due to Zorin refusing to wrestle the match.
