….

Ray, we used to hang out with Kevin Sullivan when he was married to Nancy (Woman) at John Arezzi's Conventions in Queens.  We loved talking about the business with them.   Georgie

Georgie,  Last night I headed over to the NWS wrestling show in South River NJ. Billy Gunn and Kevin Sullivan were the main headliners on the card. Anytime Kevin Sullivan is in the area I can't pass up seeing him. Sullivan is absolutely my favorite heel of all time. I got to the building at seven fifteen after battling two hours of traffic on the NJ Turnpike.  Accidents and construction everywhere down the Turnpike from NY but that wouldn't deter me from reaching my destination. Upon purchasing my admission ticket I entered the auditorium to which I was greeted by my buddy James Soblassis of 3 Count Promotions who had brought in Kevin Sullivan for the NWS event. Kevin Sullivan was sitting at a table by the door and James introduced me to him. I had met Kevin a few years back at a LOTR convention again via James who brought Sullivan in for that event too. I had a bunch of Sullivan items in hand for this NWS visit for Kevin to sign, lots of old school stuff from Grapevine Florida programs to a WCW tag belt. As KS began to sign the items he loved seeing the old stuff I had brought. He was taking a walk down memory lane. His memory is pretty incredible btw as he told me a few stories about the whole Midnight Rider angle and him and his feuds with Dusty that took them from one corner of Florida to the other. After spending some time with KS and hearing his great stories our visit was over. I shook his hand and thanked him for all the great memories he gave me through the years and how he was absolutely my favorite heel. After we took our polaroid together KS thanked me for being a fan and for taking time to stop by and visit with him. After my visit with KS I walked over to Billy Gunn who was sitting next to him. With Billy, was Erick Simms another buddy of mine now famous for the slap heard around the world lol! I had two items to get signed and Billy took care of that. I had some conversation with Erick and then off I went to find my seat. The matches begun at 8PM and the crowd was a bit small. Probably 200 people in the building. The main match I came to see was Kevin Sullivan in a hardcore match with the Equalizer. The match itself was pretty good and in true KS form fans in attendance did get to see KS juice. I was in heaven! First a great auto session with the Taskmaster and now juice, it was like winning the Lotto! The match itself turned out to be a no contest which was kinda disappointing. Other matches were mainly local guys on the NWS roster. The main event featured Billy Gunn and Slyck Wagner Brown. Again a pretty good match and always a treat to see Billy Gunn wrestle in person. Overall the whole night at the NWS show was a fun one. Joe Panzerino always puts on a good family wrestling event just like the old days. You can still buy a hotdog and soda at his shows for a buck a piece and his admission prices are always kept at an affordable level. A few thank you's go out to first James from 3 Count Promotions for being a great friend always, and for bringing in Kevin Sullivan for the NWS show and for all the help he always gives me in my autograph endeavors. I gotta thank Eric Simms too for my Billy Gunn autographs. Wether you like or hate Erick he works hard all year  round bringing in talent for not only NWS but most of the Indy promotions. Last but not least must thank Kevin Sullivan for all the great sigs and for taking time out to chat about the good ole days most of us old school wrestling fans remember.
