This is “iMPACT!” presented to you by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling just days after Christian Cage delivered his promise at the “Against All Odds” Pay-Per-View by defeating Jeff Jarrett to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion!

The program started off with the brand new NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage making his way down to the ring with the prestigious strap on his shoulder. The fans gave him a standing ovation as Christian took center stage on the microphone. He told us that he waited 12 long years to do this, and finally “Captain Charisma” has done it. He dedicated this win to all the people that have been held back over the years. He said over the years he was told he didn’t have “it”, but it took real fans in TNA to know “it” and you can’t fool the fans. Christian Cage then named off such legends as Terry Funk, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, and Dory Funk Jr. among other past legends that have won the top prize and forever from here on out, his name will be linked with thier names. Christian was very proud of his accomplishment this Sunday, but the attention quickly swerved over to Monty Brown, the new number one contender for Destination X. Christian Cage concluded by telling Monty Brown that “The Alpha Male” would be facing “It” because that’s how Christian Cage along with the Christian Coalition rolls here in TNA!

Backstage it was Jeff Jarrett saying he got screwed at Against All Odds. However, that attitude was swept aside because it was a new day he said. That’s a sign of a true champion by moving on he said unlike Christian Cage. Shortly after that, Scott D’Amore gave Jarrett the tape that Shelley caught of Jackie Gayda. They left the scene as a viewing party was going to be gathered later tonight to watch the tape courtesy of the Shelley Cam.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

THREE WAY MATCH:
“THE PRINCE OF PUNK” SHANNON MOORE vs. RODERICK STRONG vs. JAY LETHAL
This was a showcase match of the X-Division as winner would be gaining entrance into Team TNA for the soon returning tournament of the World X Cup. The three combatants were quick on their feet in this match with all competitors getting some offense in, but the stand out of the match was Jay Lethal who was just coming off of a hot win from Against All Odds. Midway through the match, the advantage turned when Moore spring boarded off the ropes with a legdrop on Lethal followed with a suplex by Roderick Strong. Shortly after that, Shannon Moore back flipped off the top of the ropes to the outside knocking Lethal and Strong down. The match almost ended when Strong hit a backbreaker on Moore but Lethal broke it up and countered the situation with his Full Nelson Backdrop Suplex for the victory and entrance into Team TNA for the World X Cup!

Winner: Jay Lethal

A video featured of the 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ron Killings was then aired highlighting his career and life.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Backstage was Jeremy Borash with The James Gang. “Bullet” Bob Armstrong came onto the scene after BG James was rambling on about LAX. Bob told The James Gang that it’s the same problem over and over, it’s always three on two but it’s going to be even at Destination X because the 66 year old man, Bob Armstrong was going to be in the match!

LAX (KONNAN, HOMICIDE, & MACHETE) vs. LA MIGRA (MICHAEL MODEST, DONOVAN MORGAN, & RYAN DRAGO)
The newest member of The Latin American Exchange, Machete showed his strength and power in this match by cleaning house on all opposing competitors in his iMPACT! debut. The match was quickly halted when Machete held his opponent up high as Homicide drove him down from the top rope off of Machete’s shoulders with a bulldog slam for the 1-2-3 pinfall win.

Winners: Konnan, Homicide, Machete

After the match, Konnan beat his opponents down even more with a leather whip with the street thug mentality. Once he was finished he said on the microphone that he didn’t think Bob Armstrong even had a wrestling license anymore. Konnan demanded him to get one because at Destination X they will be sending him back to the hospital again like they once did before.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We were back with Jeremy Broash in Larry Zbyszko’s office with TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe. Larry said that himself along with the NWA Championship Committee were proud of Samoa Joe’s accomplishments here in TNA thus far, most specifically his 8 month reign of being undefeated. However he hasn’t step foot in this match before… the Ultimate X! Samoa Joe didn’t seem to be quite the happy fellow when he found out he would be defending his title in an Ultimate X match at Destination X against AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels because he told Larry that we would might just be soon calling him a “Legend” rather than the “Living Legend” when stunts like this from the Championship Committee are pulled like this. Could Samoa Joe finally be facing the ultimate test?

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. AUSTIN ARIES
Austin Aries began the match by working on The Fallen Angel’s neck with elbows and chops. Christopher Daniels was wearing bandage on the back of the neck because of the drop he took at Against All Odds on his neck. Christopher Daniels caught the offense for the remainder of the match shortly after an STO but when he was going to go for the Angels Wings but he changed his mind and went for the Rear Naked Choke and that’s when Samoa Joe came in and all hell broke loose declaring this a no-contest.

Winner: No-Contest

Samoa Joe brought a chair into ring to take Christopher Daniels out once again just like he once did at Genesis, only this time AJ Styles was prepared and came in for the save. He took the chair and knocked The Samoan Submission Machine out of the ring with a hard shot to his head. Samoa Joe was preparing to deliver the Muscle Buster on Daniels onto the steel chair before that quick save by AJ. After the save, AJ Styles told Daniels that this save wasn’t for him. Regardless of who it was for, these three men will be in the Ultimate X at Destination X on March 12, 2006 battling for the X-Division Championship!

Just before our commercial break, Team 3D and Ron Killings met up for a little “What’s Up?” chat.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Backstage after the break was Jeff Jarrett and the viewing party getting ready to watch the footage. Jackie Gayda quickly broke party and told Jarrett that he won and she was out, she was leaving TNA. In order for her to leave on her terms though, she had to take that tape with her but Jarrett told her repeatedly that she wasn’t going anywhere. He manipulated the situation and told her that he could very well put the footage on the Internet. Ultimately though he wasn’t going to let her leave like Sting did. He told her he was now the boss, but once Sting was mentioned Eric Young once again was there to remind Jarrett that Sting wasn’t gone. Scott D’Amore slapped Young as Jarrett sent Alex Shelley on another mission, this time to garner footage of Sting.

TEAM CANADA (PETEY WILLIAMS, BOBBY ROODE, & A1) vs. RON KILLINGS & TEAM 3D (BROTHER RAY & BROTHER DEVON)
Bobby Roode instigated the offense for Team Canada but the momentum quickly shifted in Team 3D’s favour once they had Petey Williams in the ring. Brother Ray and Devon later elevated Ron Killings in the air to land on Williams as The Truth then took down A1, the man he defeated at Against All Odds last Sunday on Pay-Per-View. During this match, it was announced that next week on iMPACT! it would be America’s Most Wanted defending the NWA World Tag Team Titles against Ron “The Truth” Killings & “The War Machine” Rhino! Petey Williams then serenaded the iMPACT! Zone with O’ Canada on Ron Killings as the fans cheered on Killings and Team 3D to oppose the Canadians. “The Canadian Enforcer” Bobby Roode fulfilled his duties by weakening Killings for Petey to continue the grind on him but the former 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ron Killings was able to find the motivation to fight out of the numbers game and tag in Brother Devon as the house was dusted and power washed. Brother Ray then hit the ring along with Ron Killings for the leg drop on the top rope. The equalizer was the Axe Kick on A1 in the ring by Ron Killings for the win, a mirror image to Against All Odds as Team 3D were battling against Petey Williams and Bobby Roode outside of the ring.

Winners: Ron Killings & Team 3D

The aftermath saw America’s Most Wanted attacking Ron Killings as the NWA World Tag Team Title match takes place next week but Rhino came for the save by throwing James Storm out of the ring and hitting The Gore on Chris Harris to surmount the odds on end!

Just before we ended the program, Monty Brown stormed into Christian Cage’s locker room after telling us that he would show us how to hunt.
