OVW’s final Six Flags house show event……

OVW Six Flags Report

OVW ran it's final "Six Flags" house show event at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Amusement Park in Louisville on Friday Night. The attendance was between 800 and 1000, but it was good because the sweltering heat was terrible and  no one was in the park at all except those who came to see the wrestling show. Usually, there are thousands of people in the park, and the wrestling show is free with admission to the park, but a lot of people don't come over to the wrestling match. There was no one in the park tonight except at the matches, because even at 7pm it was 99 degrees and miserably humid in Louisville tonight.

In the main matches, Ken Doane pinned Nick Nemeth in the match of the night in defense of the OVW TV Title. This was a very good match, and people were really into the match. I think this match was as over as Benoit and Albright vs Anderson and Puder. That match was really good with Benoit and Albright getting double tap outs with the crossface and the crowbar.

MNM (Mercury, Nitro, and Melina) were originally scheduled against The Thrillseekers and Maria. Matt Capotelli's injury forced a show-long storyline where they were wondering who would replace Capotelli. Jeter winning the title guaranteed the match was going to change a lot. The Tolands did a good promo on TV that said they would confront MNM because MNM stole Jillian Hall, "the mole" in WWE.

Jeter came out with Maria, but announced that as OVW Champion, he's too important to wrestle in this match. His promo was not nearly as good as Wednesday at the Davis Arena. Jeter left Maria alone. MNM back Maria into a corner, and out came Tommy Dreamer and Seth Skyfire. So it was Mercury, Nitro, and Melina vs Dreamer, Skyfire, and Maria. This was good but didn't have a lot of logic to it. After moves by Dreamer and Skyfire, Maria pinned Mercury. It played out well live, but must read like crap, and a few hours after the show, I think it was pretty stupid.I don't know what happened to The Tolands.

Seemed like a different direction than the TV shows lately.
