OVW TV Taping 5-28-08
Dark Matches:
Josh Lowry d Turcan Celik. Josh is improving rapidly from week to week. Turcan looks the part, and gets good heat.
Serena/Melody d Josie/Reggie. Not very good.
Jamin Olivencia d Gavin Garrison. The crowd seemed to be into Jamin tonight, which is odd considering the usual mixed reaction he receives. Jamin went over strong and looked good.
Igotta Brewski d Ryan Reeves. I was surprised that this was as good as it was for a muscleman match, but it surprised me. Brewski wins with his big spear/pounce.
Chris Cage d Raul Loco. Nothing much to say, just a solid match.
Adam Revolver/Dewey w/Tubby Tommy & Manbeast d Scott Cardinal/Sergio. As always, the Mobile Homers put on an entertaining match. Even the stalling between Cardinal and the Homers was funny.
TV Taping:
A video aired showing Twinkletoes trying to trick the Mobile Homers into drinking tea with laxative in it. The Homers turned the tables, and Twink ended up drinking the laxative.
Tank Toland d James Thomas. Tank's one-armed spinebuster is pretty impressive, especially on a near 300 pounder like Thomas.
Twinkletoes then ran off from the announce desk, and a cameraman followed him back revealing him running to the bathroom and screaming in agony.
Anthony Bravado d Josh Lowry. After the match, Bravado had a good promo about his match on June 6 with Jerry Lawler.
Chris Cage d Johnny Punch. Cage remains the guy with the most heat in OVW, and just keeps coming off as a real prick.
A video aired with Ashley Stefan Streetman, Gavin Garrison, and Brett Wellington. I couldn't hear it very well, but it's some type of fraternity gimmick.
Joey Matthews d Rudy Switchblade. This was a very good match, as both guys are great workers. The finish came when JD Michaels interfered giving Joey the win.
Tubby Tommy d JD Michaels. JD told Tubby to face him one-on-one without the rest of the Homers at ringside, but Rudy came out to return the favor allowing Tubby to hit his finisher for the win.
Pat Buck/Rob Conway d Insurgency to win the OVW Tag Titles. This was an exciting match, with Pat Buck getting MURDERED by the Insurgency for most of the match until he managed to make the tag to Conway. Conway came in and went nuts on the Insurgency until chaos broke loose. Buck and one of the Insurgency went to the outside, while Turcan got the flag and tried to hit Conway, but hit the other guy. Conway dumped Turcan, got the pin, and the crowd exploded!
