A sold out turnaway crowd witnessed an historic night…..

NEW OVW HEAVYWEIGHT AND TV CHAMPIONS CROWNED!

I just got in from the OVW TV Taping tonight.  A sold out turnaway crowd witnessed what will go down as the most historic night in OVW history. Matt Cappotelli beat Johnny Jeter for the OVW Heavyweight Championship in a 2 out of 3 Falls match that went 25 minutes. Jeter won the first fall with a rollup holding the tights. Cappotelli capitalized on Jeter missing a big move off the top to win the second fall. In the third fall, Jeter survived a superkick, but went to the top rope, and was caught flush in the face with a superkick in mid air for the pin. Cappotelli's celebration lasted a long time, with the crowd screaming Capp-o-telli and OVW OVW OVW.

CM Punk won the OVW TV Title from Ken Doane in a match with a lot of interesting twists.
Doane was scheduled against Brent Albright in the fifth match of their classic series. Doane went into Albright's locker room, but Albright told him to "Get out or Tap Out." Doane took a swing, but Albright put Doane in the Crowbar. Doane went out to the ring and cut an amazing promo saying he's not the next HBK, the next HHH, the next Austin, but the "1st Ken Doane." He heeled on the ref for never making a big decision in his life, but "being Ken Doane, every decision I make carries the entire future of the industry on my shoulders." Albright came out, and Doane jumped him, and tried a big maneuver on the announcer desk, but Albright turned it into a Crowbar. Punk came out and nailed Albright with a chair. Doane was thanking Punk and said "I owe you one," and Punk shoved Doane into the ringpost. Doane asked the ref for help, and the ref said "I'll show you an important decision" and declared it a title match. Punk tried to win with Albright's hold, the Crowbar, but Doane fought his way out. They ended up bumping the ref, Albright hit the ring with a chair, Punk ducked, and Albright hit Doane with the chair. This caused Punk to win. The story is that Punk won the title, but all thanks to Albright, which obviously doesn't sit well with Albright. This was one of the best angles I've ever seen live.

Jillian Hall defeated Micki James in a Raw vs Smackdown match. Believe this or not, Jillian scored the pin after hitting a picture perfect 450 Splash off the top rope. The match went almost 15 minutes. This was also great.

In other matches, Seth Skyfire and Chet The Jet defended the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles in a match where they defeated Mike Mondo and Da Beast; TNA's Trinity debuted in a dark match against Beth Phoenix, and it ended up being Trinity and Chris Cage against Aaron "The Idol" Stevens and Beth (with Shelly at ringside). The Idol pinned Trinity after she missed a sweet moonsault to the floor; Rene Dupree introduced his brother in another dark match and they defeated The Riggs Brothers; Doug Basham beat Casey James.

This was the most exciting and the best OVW TV Taping I've ever been to. They return next Wednesday night to the New Davis Arena in Louisville.
