Parrish man looks to pin WWE BlackBerry fiasco

It's Round 2 in the public dispute between a Parrish man and professional wrestling over a lost-and-found BlackBerry communication device.

And Louis Glennon Jr. is fighting back.

When deputies came knocking on his door to fulfill Circuit Judge Paul Logan's order to retrieve the BlackBerry, which Glennon found at Yankee Stadium during a baseball game in April, he had a simple answer.

He didn't have it, he said, because he'd already sent it back to who he thinks is its owner - the professional wrestler known as "Edge."

"We sent it two weeks ago, but it came back because of an incorrect address," Glennon said Thursday evening. "We contacted his (Edge's) mom again and resent it a couple days ago."

The dispute came to a head Wednesday, when World Wrestling Entertainment filed an emergency court order at the Manatee County courthouse to get back what it claims is its music coordinator's cell phone, misplaced at the Yankees game Glennon attended.

The motion claimed Glennon had refused to return the phone and used phone numbers programmed into it to call celebrities in the entertainment world.

Circuit Judge Paul Logan granted the request hours after it was filed, resulting in Thursday's visit by deputies to Glennon's home.

But Glennon said Thursday he didn't even turn on the cell phone and multi-media device until charging it weeks after he found it. That's when, he said, he determined it likely belonged to someone who worked for WWE, and contacted the corporation.

"They weren't even sure that it was one of their phones," Glennon said. When Glennon wasn't satisfied that it was property of the WWE, he called a contact in the phone, titled, "Mom."

"I wanted to be sure, because there is personal stuff on my phone and I wouldn't want that information going to the wrong person," he said. "I even used my own phone to call her, and never called any celebrities like the paperwork claimed."

The WWE motion also stated that Glennon admitted to sharing information from the phone with his brother, and downloaded some of it.

Glennon says those accusations are false and sent a letter to the wresting corporation Thursday afternoon.

WWE's attorney, Daniel Casey did not return a phone call Thursday.
