Pro Wrestling Syndicate came made its Queens Elks Lodge debut last night with Refuse To Lose II before a sold out audience of some of the smartest wrestling fans on the planet. PWS was very happy to walk into this building for the first time ever and have to bring in extra chairs to accomodate the amount of fans, something that no other company that's run there had ever had to do.
The show opened with a bang, actually a BANG BANG as PWS Guest Commissioner Mick Foley hit the ring to welcome to the crowd. Foley was interrupted by Reality Check members Kevin Matthews, Danny Demanto, Velvet Sky, and PWS Champion Devon Moore. Foley made it very clear that as Commissioner he would not tolerate any nonsense from Reality Check however this did settle well PWS' resident trouble makers as Velvet Sky came back on Foley strong which resulted in Foley firing her! That's right, Velvet Sky was fired from PWS in the opening segment as Mick Foley laid down the law.
PWS ring announce "Majestic" Larry Legend came to the ring to welcome the crowd and introduce the opening match of Reality Check's Kevin Matthews taking on "The Playa From The Himalayas" Sonjay Dutt. This match was fifteen minutes of non stop back and forth action that had the crowd's attention from start to finish. I think fans were legitimately shocked to see all of the big moves and near falls that occurred in this matchup. Matthews picked up the pinfall victory but Sonjay Dutt was very vocal that he wants another shot at Matthews in PWS.
Up next was a WSU Women's Match which saw Brittney Savage defeat Nikki Styx to retain her spot as number one contender to Mercedes Martinez's WSU Championship.
Match #3 saw "Big Juicy" Justin Corino debut his new valet Nicolette Vincelli as he took on the 420 pound "Samoan Mastadon" Fala whom had his manager, wrestling legend Ox Baker by his side. This was a hard hitting back and forth contest which the crowd was very into. After Fala picked up the win by dropping his massive Samoan behind on Justin's face, Nicolette ran to the back and returned with the 502 pound monster Lucifer Darksyde.
After these two big men stared each other down, the big hits and big moves quickly followed, ending with te 502 pound Darksyde hitting a top rope moonsault on Fala as The Elks Lodge crowd responded with a standing "holy shit holy shit" response. Fala still remains unbeaten in PWS and you'd have to think that his attention must now be directed at Justin Corino and his monsterous bodyguard Lucifer Darksyde.
In a special Rookies Bonus Match, Kris Wreck battle Sean Static in a match that started out slow but quickly picked up huge as these two began hitting big moves and dives. As the crowd began supporting the match, Eddie Kingston came out to a huge ovation and destroyed both of the rookies. Kingston immediately got on the mic and began offending everyone in the building as only Eddie can.
Eddie was cut off by "The Master And The Ruler Of The World" himself Pyscho Sid Vicious whom got a standing ovation as he entered the building pushing out a stretcher.
The fight didnt last long as Sid quickly over powered Kingston and pinned him following a huge chokelsam. The crowd however quickly turned on Sid as they had hoped to see more of a fight. Sid responded by picking up Kingston for a powerbomb to which the crowd responded with "one more time, one more time". Sid continued to powerbomb Eddie until he had to be stretchered out. With Sid making such quick work of Eddie whats next for Sid in PWS and how will Kingston comeback to avenge this beating?
The undefeated PWS tag team champions The Urban Legends were set to defend their Titles in a gauntlet match however one half of the team, Wes Draven was unable to get doctor's clearance to wrestle due to injury. Therefore in the locker room Commissioner Foley told Devious that he could select a partner of his choosing. Devious however declined and decided to battle two tag teams in succession by himself. Devious defeated Timmy Aiight & Joey Ayyo after hitting his Black Ball Bomb which got much applause from the fans. As Aiight & Ayyo were going to the back, Joe Ayyo started beating Timmy Aiight with a metal pipe. As Ayyo beat down Aiight, out came the 900+ pound Nigerian Nightmares Maifu & Saifu with their manager Princess Sheeta. Even with the odds largely stacked against him Devious single handedly managed to over come taking several massive double team moves including Total Nigerian-Ation and pick up the victory by pinning Maifu while Saifu was tied up in the ropes and Sheeta was laid out after taking an accidental brutal hit by Maifu. As The Urban Legends continue to plow through every tag team thrown at them, who will be next to take on the champs?
In a match that had the crowd on their feet "The Premiere Athlete" Tony Nese retained his NY State Title against Amazing Red, Rich Swann, Javi Air, Brian XL, and El Gran Demono. This match was hard hitting and high flying from start to finish. The action was so intense that El Gran Demono even lost his mask to reveal his true identity of Pinkie Sanchez. This spectacular match got a standing ovation from the fans and after Nese shook hands with all of his fallen opponents an unknown man dressed hopped the guardrail and attacked Nese from behind, laying him out and draping the belt on his chest. Who is this man and what will come from this?
Match #8 saw "The Cold Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto pick up a win over the debuting "Encore" Aaron Epic. This match got a lot of crowd reaction as big moves and dives seemed to be happening at rapid fire. The crowd was so hot that vendor Jac Sabboth was even spotted swiping a large white towel perhaps to cool off a bit. Even though Demanto is a member of the hated Reality Check group he was cheered upon entrance , perhaps because the crowd was happy to partake in a game of heckling Demanto.
The Boston Shore's Amber & Alexxis Nevaeh defeated The Belle Saints (Marti Belle & Tina SanAntonio) to capture The WSU Women's Tag Team Titles.
And as fans were saying afterwards .. the greatest match ever in the Queens Elks Lodge occured as "The New Horror" Sami Callihan took on "The Boricua Beast" Dan Maff in a #1 Contenders Match. These two men beat the holy hell out of each other from bell to bell. There was hard hitting, technical wrestling, and a lot of brawling including Callihan putting Maff through one of the vendor's tables! The action spilled all over the building with chairs legitimately flying as the crowd was very split between these two warriors. In the end, it was Callihan defeating Maff in a brutal match to have the right to challenge PWS Champion Devon Moore for the belt.
Moore however had other plans as he came to the ring to excercise his PWS Title defense against the worn out Callihan. Moore quickly hit Callihan with a huge piledriver, however at the last second Callihan managed to put his shoulder up as the crowd erupted firmly behind Callihan. After ref Brett Lauderdale was knocked out Reality Check's Danny Demanto ran to the ring to assist Moore but was cut off by Dan Maff whom hit Demanto with a huge Burning Hammer as the crowd erupted. Callihan came back at Moore and had him pinned in the middle of the ring however there was no ref. As ref Matt Bennett quickly ran out , Reality Check's Kevin Matthews was right behind him and pulled Bennett out on the Two Count. As Kevin began to get involved in the action , Commissioner Mick Foley quickly came out to put a stop to it, but not before Reality Check's Velvet Sky snuck up to Foley from behind, however she was met with a Socko to the face as Callihan applied his Stretch Muffler to Moore to win the title as the crowd erupted for their new champion!
Dan Maff came out to speak to Callihan about his title win and it was made very clear that Maff wants the belt and Callihan is open to any challengers. What will happen now as the fans want to see Maff battle Callihan again, two time champion Devon Moore has demanded a rematch , and still waiting in the wings is the man who won a match against Amazing Red at PWS' Spring Break Showdown in March with the right to challenge the PWS Champion anytime , anywhere ....The Necro Butcher!
