QUESTION? WHO HAS THE GREATEST GIMMICK IN WRESTLING TODAY??

Personally, I am a fan of gimmick matches, which is my own fault, but the gimmicks with the wrestlers, in my opinion, less is more.  So, my winner for your question is NOAH's Takeshi Morishima.  I am a big fan of a talent who walks in to the ring, hits somebody right square in the temple, suplexes their head off their body, and walks out like it's just another day at the office.  His LACK of emotion and promo makes the gimmick just that much more enjoyable to me.

Since I went ROH, I'll try and come with winners on WWE and TNA.  For WWE, I like CM Punk's "straight edge" gimmick.  He doesn't give you the glamour or the glitz that some gimmicks does, he goes in, beats people up, and leaves.  The use of the "addiction" aspect in the beginning was a little off, but now, it's just plain wrestling, and that's my biggest enjoyment.  For TNA, the PREVIOUS incarnation of AJ Styles.  Not the heel goofball waste of oxygen he's become, but before, when he was truly "phenomenal".

He was a heel in the beginning of TNA, and a damn good one too, from his high flying antics and evil attitude.  Now, he's just a goofball lackey for Cage, and that, is the biggest waste and disgustingly poor abuse of talent I have ever seen.  If he was allowed to be AJ Styles, and be phenomenal, and yet, be a heel to the fans, I would say Styles as a heel would rock.  So, my answer stays.  The PREVIOUS version of AJ Styles was the best gimmick TNA has had, from my eyes.

Has to be Santino Marella. The guy is funny as hell on the microphone. He went from being a nothing Italian underdog who won the Intercontinental Title to a brash, self serving Italian know-it-all. Excellent character!

Well, since WWE has fired all of their best gimmicks (From Muhammad Hassan to Cryme Tyme), and TNA seems to have Raven locked away in a vault some where, my favorite gimmick has to be that of Joey Ryan.   Why?   Because who can't look up to a guy with asthma!  I suffered from asthma most of my childhood, so it's good to see a wrestler out there I can really relate to.   Plus, he and Josh Abercrombie should team up and get everyone some mustache rides.

Though I don't watch WWE or TNA currently, I do enjoy Samoa Joe and think the HooliganZ had a pretty good thing going on Smack Down! when JBL kept telling us to "Enjoy them while they're here, because with high risk moves like this they won't last long".    Now if you wanted to know about WWE's worst gimmicks, it'd be more than half the roster, believe you me.

My wife is a fan of Kevin Thorn though.   I must concur, his gimmick is somewhat enjoyable.

Hey Georgie:

I have to say that the greatest gimmick wrestling today is King Booker?
I have been a fan of Booker since early WCW days.
But I have to say that I hope he is able to keep doing this in TNA?
I must admit, when he first did it after the king of the ring, I was like,
" McMahon is about to buffoon another wrestler again". but it grew on me.
It also showed Booker as an entertainer and working his mic skills.

All hail King Bookerrrrrrrr

Right now, my fave gimmick is Black Reign. Dustin Rhodes is one of the most underrated stars of all time. Look how he took the Gold dust character and he made it work. To look at Black Reign he looks very similar to Gold dust but don't let that fool you, because Black Reign is nothing like Gold dust, the guy is a psycho path. Who needs Judas feuding with Abyss ? Not me. I hope TNA make a DVD on Black Reign, I also want WWE to make one of Goldust, you would have an awesome story to be told. Then you would have his best matches and some bizarre promos :)
