Jimmy reviews RAW for 8/1

RAW Opening

Our hosts are Jim Ross, Jonathan Coachman, and Jerry Lawler

We are joined by Chris Jericho. He disses Cena's band. He shows footage from last week, and soon after Cena runs in and beats up Jericho. Security stops him, and Bischoff yells at him. He announces Jericho as the Special Referee.

Chris Masters and Gene Snitsky vs. Shelton Benjamin and Big Show
Show and Snitsky go at it. Show dominates, as you would expect. Shh chop. Show tosses them out, and we go to commercial. We return with Shelton and Snitsky going at it. Masters gets the tag, and works the back. He goes to the bearhug. Powerslam gets 2. Snitsky comes back in, and a spinebuster gets 2. Double clothesline and Show comes in illegally to beat up the heels. Masters goes to the chinlock, and beats on him some more. Shelton gets a neckbreaker, and hot tag to Big Show. He cleans house. He chokeslams Snitsky for the pin. *1/4

Eugene Invational. Angle comes out, but Eugene points out he's not from here. Tatanka comes out as the challanger. They go back and forth until Kurt runs in for the DQ when Eugene uses his moves. Tatanka and Eugene beat up Kurt.

We see Hogan on Larry King.

Backstage, Carlito and Jericho discuss Carlito winning tonight.

Vince arrives.

Vince comes out and tells us that they've been Gunsmoke. He then thanks himself for giving it to us. He brings out Matt, announcing he signed him. Matt cuts a dark promo against Lita and Edge.

Backstage, Vince meets Kerwin White. Hilarity ensues.

Val Venis vs. Rob Conway
Standard stuff to start. They go back and forth. Conway controls the tempo, and goes to a hangman. Val fights back, getting the Blue Thunder. Val gets his reverse Figure 4, but Conway makes it to the ropes. The crowd turns on the match, and Conway soon after gets the solo-La Resistance suplex, dubbed the Ego Trip, for the pin. They've had much better matches on Heat. **

Shawn parodies Hulk on Larry King. Pretty funny. He superkicks everyone.

Diva Search time. Rob Schenider comes out, and talks about his boner.

We review Jericho vs. Carlito from last week.

Carlito Carribean Cool with Eric Bischoff vs. John Cena for the WWE Title with Chris Jericho as Special Guest Referee
The odds are tremendously stacked against Jericho, and we go right to a commercial. We return with Cena fighting out of a chinlock. Carlito gets a neckbreaker for a fast 2 count. Carlito dominates but Cena fights back with a flying shoulder tackle. Carlito goes to the chinlock. They slug out it, and Cena had a pin, but Jericho won't count. Cena takes out Jericho, and he hits the FU on Carlito and Mike Choida counts the pin. Jericho beats up Cena afterwards. Match was alright. *1/2

Overall Thoughts: Okay, but not great, RAW.
