Georgie,
as a young kid in Garden City, Michigan, my father was friends with Ricky Cortez. I always knew him to be a gentle giant, and a very kind man. He was funny, but quiet. A fellow Marine like my father and Blackjack Mulligan, he was a good man who will be missed.

I wrestled Rick many times while working in Detroit in the early 1970's. He was a good guy. If he had traveled outside of the Detroit territory, I think he would have been a big star. I know he was working at one of the factories at the time --- but loved to be in the ring.
