Wizard World Chicago kicked off Thursday night with appearances by several wrestling legends. As a member of the press, I got in early and was able to talk a bit to some of the wrestlers.

Mick Foley was looking great. He seemed to have slimmed down a bit. We talked about his daughter Noelle and about not seeing each other for a few years. Mick is always a class act.
This was the first time I ever met Glenn Jacobs and i am glad he was in the Kane mask. We talked his Mayoral run in Knox County, TN. I also asked him about his future induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Of course, he was too humble to predict which year (or even if he would be inducted), but it’s really just a matter of time.
Velvet Sky is more beautiful in person and better yet, she is a real sweetheart. I asked her about a run in the WWE, but I couldn’t get a real answer. I’m going to keep trying this weekend (plus it gives me another reason to stop and see her again and again).
I hadn’t seen Christian since a Brian Pillman Memorial event in 2001. I didn’t get a chance to talk much to Christian, but he is a good guy.
Road Warrior Animal and I talked about his former football player son James Laurinaitis. He (like all Chicago Bears fans) really wanted to see James drafted by the Bears and he even mentioned that Brian Urlacher wanted that, too. That would have been a formidable pair on defense. He then put the famous shoulder pads on me for a picture.
I have always said that Wizard World is a great place to meet wrestlers. While their lines are long, they move quickly, but you usually still get a few solid moments of special time with each one.
