Foley, Bundy, Heenan, Bockwinkle and Steele…

Hi George,

My name is John Verta, I am new to the blog but certainly not to the website. I just wanted to give a quick report on the autograph signing I attended today (Sun 10 June 2007 in Schaumburg, ILL). First off, Mick Foley had the longest line with approximately 100 tickets sold (at $39.00 a piece plus a $7.00 authentication process (which was offered for each guest) it was a tad bit costly compared to the $20.00 for the others).

Foley was great, posed for pictures and personalized every autograph. In addition, he spoke to each fan and commented about their item being signed, a real class act.

King Kong Bundy was excellent as usual posing for pictures and signing any inscription you desired, very talkative and funny.

Bobby Heenan was his usual joking self. Commenting about a picture I had previously taken at the 2006 Baltimore Fanfest he said, ” I remember taking this picture, but I don’t recall what the hell I had for breakfast this morning. Shows where my mind is at.”

Nick Bockwinkle was totally awesome, as it seemed he was still on an emotional high since his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. I had Nick sign the program from the induction evening and a picture which is posted on the NWALEGENDS website with me and Nick holding the old AWA Belt. Nick commented on how nice the evening was put together, and remarked how great the program was with a hologram cover. He took the time to pose for another picture and gladly personalized my picture as well.

Last was George “The Animal” Steel. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive on how he would act, since I have heard some bad stories about him before, but I must say, he was a great guy. He posed for a picture, laughed and even made a few comments about his Wrestlemania appearance.

The true highlight of the day for me was asking Heenan, Bockwinkle, and Bundy to pose together for a picture. The promoted said I had to ask them personally to which all of them graciously accepted. Bundy said, “He wants to get the 3 best generations of wrestling in one picture.” What a true rarity to have these 3 pose together I snapped a few pictures and left a happy man. I will email you a copy of the picture if you like. Just wanted to pass the info along. I am looking forward to this years' fanfest….  I am VIP # 39…..

Thanks     John
