….
Hello Georgie,
I thought I would send you a report real quick from the Washington DC Auto Expo Ric Flair Signing.
My buddy Anthony and I arrived at the convention center around 6:30. No one in the building seemed to know where the signing was taking place, so we searched for well over 15 minutes. We also were not aware until we got there that the Expo was on 2 floors. When we walked in, we saw Curly Neal from the 1980's Globetrotters signing autographs…his line was real short. I now wish we would have got his autograph too. We walked around and found where the Quarterback from the Washington Redskins was signing (at the same time as Ric Flair). There were no signs to tell us where Flair was signing, just "other media" events downstairs signs. So, we figured it was downstairs. 2 sets of escalators later, we were on the mid-level and could look down on the showroom. We saw a long line and figured that was the Flair line. It was and we got in line at the end. I happened to see Eric Simms and the other big guy with him in the front of the line, but didn't say hello as I don't know them that well. I think they managed to get in the back of the line at the end too, but I'm not sure (smart move as they closed the line shortly after).
Ric Flair showed up around 7:15 and started signing. One of the guys in front of me caught Ric Flair upstairs with Curly Jones posing for a picture which I thought was cool. Security in the front of the line (about 3 of them) would only let you get one item signed and only a quick picture of him as you were going past. They would not allow you to take a posed picture with him. We got up to meet Ric around 8:50 and the line still had over 50 people to meet him yet. I shook Ric's hand and he seemed very pleasant and more than happy to meet me. He wooed for everyone in line when I got up there and had a smile on his face the whole time. Thank goodness my buddy Anthony was with me or else I would not have gotten my 4 Horsemen poster finished. I'm so happy that I can now place it on my wall and no longer carry it around.
I've added a picture so you can post it on the website.
Thanks for all you do with the posting. I hope to have another report for you after the Ric Flair signing on Sunday in NYC.
