I found out this morning through a message board that C.M. Punk would be at the South Carolina State Fair to promote the Smackdown/ECW tapings that are being held tonight. The information I was given said that Punk would be there from 11:15am-noon. I was hesitant to go, because there was nothing on the WWE website and nothing in the autograph sessions and appearances that you put together, but chanced it anyway.

I went to Columbia, from Greenville, and arrived at the Fairgrounds around 11am. After asking information where to go, I found the area where the signing was supposed to be. Nobody seemed to be around, except some folks from local station WIS, who I believe were the sponsors of the signing.

I walked around for a couple minutes, and when I returned, saw maybe seven or eight people in line and Punk signing and taking pictures. My guess is that there was little to no advertising done for this appearance and the parking lot for the fair was full.

After what couldn't have been five minutes, I made my way up and introduced myself. Punk signed an 8x10 for me, posed for a quick picture and then signed a program that I had brought with me. When I left the table, there was hardly anyone behind me in line.

It was a great experience, but it appears someone dropped the ball on advertising this appearance.
