…..
I know it late, but at least its something...
I attended the Big Time Wrestling show in Danbury CT Friday night and I came out with mixed reactions...
Pros-
- Ric Flair is the Man! There is nothing else to say about this guy, every time I see him, he is happy, cheerful and signs whatever you need done. I had him sign a 8x10 of his Raw farewell and he loved it, and couldn't be happier to see it. This man is great! Every wrestler should take advice from Ric both inside and out of the ring.
-The matches on the card were pretty decent, once they finally happened....
-Tito Santana and Honky Tonk Man were also very cool, Honky even asked what hotel I was staying in down in Houston, said we should grabs some beers together
Cons-
- The extremely long waiting period both for the show to start, between matches, and during a "short" intermission. The show had a bell time of 815, and with 7 total matches, we left the Danbury Ice arena at 1150... that's longer than a WWE PPV, it was insane.
- They actually had a robot wrestling... I know I said the matches were good, well they were expect for this. This was 1000x worse than Shark Boy, Mystery Man, and Battle Kat combined.
- Highspots.com had some very high prices, 10 bucks for a Flair 8x10 is a little much when most people were already paying 50-75 bucks for the sig
- Bob Backlund was charging 40 bucks for a pic and auto, a little much if you ask me...
- Greg Valentine seemed very out of it, both at the auto signing and in the ring, i'm not positive but he looked drunk... check out the pic of him signing and you'll notice something
- Reid Flair put on a decent match and was approachable to talk to but I didn't get a great vibe from him, don't get me wrong, I hope he makes it big because I love his dad, I just don't have the Cody/Ted feeling about him, not even the DH Smith feeling yet, he is still young though.
- Justin Credible.... I'll just leave it at that....
Overall I did enjoy my time at Big Time Wrestling, and look forward to attending there show June 20th, featuring Roddy Piper. While Flair was talking in the ring, he was cutting a promo on Chris Jericho for Wrestlemania when John Cena Sr. interrupted and claimed that the 3 Legends and Flair would get there asses kicked in Houston, Flair responded with, "Shouldn't you be in a movie theater tonight." Enjoy the pics. They aren't the best but it's something.
