Great Lakes Championship Wrestling held its annual Blizzard Brawl at the Waukesha County Expo Center. As always, Blizzard Brawl was a fantastic night of wrestling legends doing meet-and-greets and wrestling, but it was also an emotional night. In the wake of the recent tragedy in Waukesha, special Waukesha shirts were sold with the proceeds going to the families and victims of the Waukesha Christmas Parade. Additionally, wrestlers Adam Scherr and EC3 donated their take from the night to the cause.
I started my night meeting Aubrey Edwards, Gail Kim, Maria Kannelis and Rebel courtesy of Rich Degregorio. Despite the long lines for all, everything ran smoothly and the women spent a decent amount of time with every fan.
OVW owner Al Snow and his physical therapist wife Jessica are always a fun stop. Al didn’t punch me for once, but he did choke me a little.
#SuperFriend, promoter and father of Kal, David Herro is always a blur of activity, but he always finds time to talk a bit.
I was so happy to see old friend C Red, a Chicago area legendary manager.
Other wrestling stars I met included Debra, Austin and Colten Gunn, Jordan Kross, “The Fanny Pack Kid” Kal Herro, Ken Anderson, Moose, ODB, Ryan Kross,  Jeff Luxon, Serena Deeb, Swoggle, Sierra and Val Venis.
Last, I met Linda Kay and Mike Curkov, who usually are involved outside of the ring, but both made big impacts getting pins in their respective matches.
Everyone was in such a good mood. The wrestling talent seemed genuinely happy to be there and I know the fans were happy to see all.
Blizzard Brawl is always a staple on my wrestling calendar. Herro and his crew do everything to make it a fun night. It’s very well organzied start to finish.
