Once again, Days of the Dead blurred the line between wrestling and horror by having several great wrestling stars in their lineup.

The Icon Sting was the headliner. His line was long, but he previously promised everyone would get their autograph or picture, which greatly relieved all.

I ran into Amy “Lita” Dumas in the elevator prior to the opening night. She remembered me from the recent Motor City Comic Con. Dumas is a real sweetheart at these events.

Kevin “Mordecai” Thorn was another guest. He “borrowed” the Days of the Dead heavyweight title belt. Maybe he’s the new DotD champ.

Jayson Maples (Of Heroes and Legends of Wrestling) brought in Charles Wright, who appeared as The Godfather and Papa Shango. We talked about him thinking I resemble Jay Leno (something I’ve heard from many, including him earlier this year).

I also unexpectedly ran into Mad Man Pondo, who was soaking in the horror greatness as a fan. It’s always interesting seeing Pondo.

The wrestling group consistently had long lines of fans.  DotD sometimes gets unfairly criticized by the hardcore horror fans for bringing in wrestlers (“who have nothing to do with horror”).  DotD continues to prove they make wise decisions.  I’m already looking forward to the Louisville Days in September, which has already announced Kurt Angle as one of their celebrity guests!
