Review of ICW debut show in Watertown, MA

On Saturday night, September 29th ICW (Impact Championship Wrestling) debuted in Watertown, MA at the Armenian Culture and Education Center. The event was put on with the Wrestling Universe store a few books away in Watertown. Doors open a little after 6pm for a meet and greet with many of the stars.

Eric Simms was at the first table with Iron Sheik and George “The Animal” Steele. It was good to see Iron Sheik in good health. Simms said that he would be at the Big Event (Oct 6 at the Courtyard LaGuardia Airport Hotel) with the Godfather and with Iron Sheik at the Legends of the Ring event (Oct 13 at the Crowne Plaza in Monroe, NJ).

M & J Collectibles had the First Lady of ROH Maria at their table. M&J said that they will be at Legends of the Ring with Vader and he will have the Head Gear with him.

The so-called “fist pumping champion” Robbie E put away the list to meet the fans in Watertown. Robbie had many of his TNA promos and posed doing the fist with the fans.

Tommy Dreamer had kendo sticks, photos and posed with photos. Tommy Dreamer joked around with fans and seemed to have fun with Robbie E and Brooke Tessmacher.

A last minute special guest from Lucky 13 Promotions (www.lucky13promotions.weebly.com) was current TNA Knockout Champion Miss Brooke Tessmacher. Brooke was extremely friendly. She had the Knockouts title with her so fans could pose with her and the belt, which was a great last minute surprise. Brooke had on a nice little black dress and was wonderful with everyone. Brooke spoke highly of the group running the show and the company that had her for the signing event.

On the other side of the hall was a large set up with Lucky 13 Promotion’s other guest Velvet Sky. They had a nice professional backdrop set up for her to stand in front of for photo-ops. There prices for Brooke and Velvet was very fair. The owner of Lucky 13, said they have Lex Luger, Daffney, Madison Rayne, the reunion of Perry & Terri at The Big Event and Harley Race, Michael Tarver, Mighty Molly Holly, and the Beautiful People Tour at Legends of the Ring.

ICW Champion Dan Maff was also signing autographs. There was a nice movement though out the line so fans got a chance to meet all the wrestlers and buy merchandise from the different vendors. The matches started off between 7:30 and 8pm. There was between 350 and 400 people in the building for that night of wrestling.

After the match Maria and Bennett dance out of the ring and up the stage way.
