…..

Hello, I'd like to share my thoughts about the Bruno Sammartino interview recently posted.

I first started watching wrestling in 1983 but wasn't really bit by the "wrestling bug" till 1984 when at 19 I was stationed in Missouri and I was exposed to the N.W.A.
I became a wrestling fan because of the N.W.A., the 4 horsemen, Ric flair, Barry Windham, magnum T.A., Nikita, the L.O.D. and the rest.
I don't actually know too much about him (bruno) other than he was world champion for 8 years and has had 2 title reigns, a 5 year title reign ( which is beyond amazing- it's unheard of in todays world) and a 3 year  title reign ( also unheard of ).
I read the articles on wrestlingfigs about Bruno and how he has conducted himself in his own life and also with fans. AND how the fans speak about him.
I heard in Ric flairs farewell speech that he said (paraphrased) " I have alot of regrets..and when I see so many people applauding me I know I must have done something right". Wow! To have so many regrets.
Ric flair has his place in wrestling..no doubt.
But if I were to die today and God would say that I could ask for anything before I die I'd ask that my son ( He is 11)  grow up to be a man.
A good man.
That he be confident, a man of his word, he treat women with respect, that he live a stable life, emotionally healthy, and he be friendly and family oriented.
I see from the interviews and articles here on wrestlingfigs that Bruno is showing these traits ( or maybe he has all his life ).
Again this is not to slight Bruno, I simply don't know much about him.

From the interview he realizes the known extent of his fame and how the public ( and especially children ) look up to their heroes and watch every move they make and what they do.
Ric flair is great to watch BUT  I wouldn't want my son to be like him.
Maybe I should read more and more about Mr. Sammartino and he what he is like and what he stands for.
I think I'd like to meet Bruno. Better yet, I'd like my son to meet him.
Thank you for posting this.  ~ Vince

Vince if you live on the East Coast you will be able to have your son meet Bruno Sammartino shortly.  He will be appearing at two wrestling conventions in the near future both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  As soon as the promoters have everything confirmed, the signings will be listed on my Autograph Session Pages.
