“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video kicks off the show highlighting tonight’s main event, a Fatal 5-Way Match in which the winner will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. It’ll be Roman Reigns taking on Seth Rollins, Finn Bálor, Bray Wyatt, and Samoa Joe.

We go into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display. The commentators welcome us to the show.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
If Ambrose is disqualified, he loses the championship
The Miz w/ Maryse vs. Dean Ambrose

The bell rings, and Ambrose twitches and shakes while the crowd buzzes for him. They lock up, and Ambrose applies a waistlock. Miz gets out, but Ambrose takes him down with a headlock takedown. Miz quickly fights up and whips him off, but Ambrose shoulder blocks him down. They lock hands, but Ambrose kicks him and wrenches the arm into a hammerlock. Miz twists out, but Ambrose quickly comes back with him. The commentators wish Harley Race well on his recently broken legs. Miz shoves Ambrose, and Ambrose punches him back to the corner. The referee backs him up, and Ambrose obliges. Miz slaps him in the face, so Ambrose wildly punches him to the corner again. The referee backs him up and warns that he could be disqualified, which would cost him the match. Ambrose chops away at him and takes him down with a spinning back elbow before clotheslining him over the top rope. Ambrose gets a head of steam and wipes him out with a suicide dive. Ambrose shoves him into the barricade and looks conflicted like he wants to do more. Miz shoves him, but Ambrose gets away. Ambrose gets in the ring to break the count. Ambrose grabs a chair, but he doesn’t act. Miz then takes him down on the floor with a big boot. Maryse distracts the referee, and Miz picks up the chair. Ambrose kicks him and grabs the chair, but the referee stops him. Ambrose gets him in the ring and pulls the hair. Miz goes to the apron and pulls him onto it to give him a DDT. Miz rolls him into the ring and picks up a two count. Miz digs his knee into his back before ripping at the face and applying a chin lock. Ambrose fights up and punches out. They trade punches with Ambrose coming out on top. Miz punches him back and counters a Lunatic Lariat before hitting the Reality Check for a near fall. Miz chokes him on the ropes before splashing him against it. Miz rips at the face before applying a neck vice. Ambrose fights out, but he has a whip reversed. Miz turns him inside out with a knee to the midsection before hitting a running knee to the face for a near fall. Miz continues ripping at his face before going for a surfboard stretch. Ambrose fights out, but Miz takes him down by the hair. Miz wildly punches away at him. Miz lets him up before starting the Daniel Bryan dropkicks in the corner. Miz then hits his patented clothesline. Miz goes to the top rope, but Ambrose kicks him and goes for Dirty Deeds. Miz counters into a Skull Crushing Finale attempt, but Ambrose gets away. Miz goes to the top rope, but Ambrose knocks him to the floor. Ambrose goes to the top rope and hits a flying elbow to the floor to take Miz down!

Ambrose gets him in the ring and hits a trio of running elbows. Miz reverses a whip, but Ambrose clotheslines him down. Ambrose follows up with a fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. Ambrose hits a running forearm and tries for a bulldog, but Miz shoves him off. Ambrose comes back with a roll-up for a two count. Ambrose quickly follows up with a swinging neckbreaker for another near fall. Dueling chants for both guys fire up. Ambrose goes to the top rope and leaps over a charging Miz. Ambrose tweaks his knee upon landing and is limping. Miz quickly goes to work on the knee. Miz charges, but Ambrose counters into a sunset flip. Miz rolls out of that and applies the Figure Four Leglock to the hurt knee. Ambrose screams in pain, but he eventually gets to the bottom rope. Ambrose counters a Figure Four attempt into an inside cradle for a two count. Miz drops him onto the apron, but Ambrose elbows him back. Ambrose goes to the top rope, but Miz crotches him up there. Miz tries for a superplex, but Ambrose blocks it and head-butts him. Ambrose goes for a powerbomb, but Miz pulls the turnbuckle pad off. Ambrose goes to slam his head into the exposed turnbuckle, but he stops to not be disqualified. Miz takes advantage of the confusion to hit Bryan’s Busaiku Knee Kick for a near fall. Miz starts kicking the chest a la Daniel Bryan, but Ambrose counters into a Figure Four Leglock. Miz screams in pain while Ambrose cinches it in. Miz eventually makes his way to the bottom rope. Miz tries for a Skull Crushing Finale, but Ambrose counters into a roll-up. Both men are hobbling. Miz punches him, but Ambrose takes him down with a Lunatic Lariat. Maryse gets on the apron to distract the referee. Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds, but he gets pushed off almost into Maryse. Miz charges and almost hits his wife. Miz screams at Maryse to slap him, and she does in full sight of the referee. The referee thinks about disqualifying Ambrose, but he knows what Maryse is up to and ejects her. Maryse comes back, and Miz shoves Ambrose into the referee. John Cone, the referee, thinks Ambrose did that on purpose, but Ambrose insists he was pushed into him. Miz takes advantage of this distraction to hit the Skull Crushing Finale to become a 7-time WWE Intercontinental Champion!

Winner and new Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

Charly Caruso is backstage with Bayley. She asks her why she chose this match when Kurt Angle offered her a straight wrestling match. Bayley makes fun of the “This Is Your Life” segment being bad. Alexa Bliss doesn’t know her or how much that championship means to her. She’s been doing research watching Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, and Steve Blackman. She got inspired by “Wonder Woman” over the weekend. She’s here to inspire people. She’ll beat Alexa Bliss and regain the RAW Women’s Championship. There are light boos for this interview.

Noam Dar and Alicia Fox vs. Rich Swann and Sasha Banks

The ropes are not taped purple for this match despite Cruiserweights being involved. Sasha Banks starts against Alicia Fox. Fox takes her down by the hair before running over to Noam Dar and hugging him. Dar is tagged in, so Rich Swann automatically comes in. Swann clotheslines him down before chopping him. Swann slams him off the turnbuckle, but Dar takes him down by the arm. A “Let’s go Swann” chant fires up in his hometown. Dar goes to the second rope, but Swann hits a super hurricanrana. Swann goes to the top rope, but Dar runs over to Fox and tags her in with a hug. Banks is automatically entered into the match. They get into a catfight before Fox hits her. They execute a sloppy takedown and Banks goes for the Bank Statement. Dar pulls Fox’s leg onto the ropes to break the hold. Banks yells at Dar. Fox then big boots Banks down for a two count. Fox continues to attack Banks and chokes her on the ropes. Fox hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two count. Fox then applies the chin lock. Banks fights her up, so Fox powers her to the corner. Banks takes her down and avoids Fox attacking. Swann is tagged in, so Dar comes in. Swann takes him down with a hurricanrana, a kick, and a flipping leg drop for a near fall. Swann tries for something, but Dar rolls him up for a two count. They trade punches before Swann goes for a backslide. Dar gets out and uppercuts him. Swann immediately comes back with a superkick. Fox runs in, so Banks sloppily takes her down. They brawl out of the ring. Dar gets Swann outside and bounces him off the barricade. Banks goes to the top rope and takes Dar down with a double knee to the floor. Swann gets Dar in the ring and goes to the top rope for a Phoenix Splash to pick up the win.

Elias Samson is in the ring with his guitar. A single spotlight shines on him. Samson says he has a question for everyone tonight: who wants to walk with Elias? Earlier he was walking along the harbor and saw the people coming by, so he decided to write a song. Samson asks them to hold their applause until he’s done. Samson starts to play. Samson says Baltimore is bathed in filth and the people are all the same. The city is so depressing, and they’re all to blame. Samson sings that he’ll take his place at the top because he always has a plan.

Kendo Stick on a Pole Match
Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss (c)

The bell rings, and Bliss taunts her and tells her to go for the kendo stick. Bayley obliges, but Bliss takes her down by the hair and stomps her. Bliss goes for the kendo stick, but Bayley grabs her and bounces her off the turnbuckle. Bayley hits a scoop slam for a two count. Bayley tries climbing the ropes for the stick, but Bliss grabs her and clubs her down. They both climb the ropes and brawl. Bayley gets a hand on the stick, but Bliss punches away at her. The stick falls, and they fall to ringside together. Bayley stops her from getting to the fallen kendo stick before driving her into the barricade. Bayley didn’t even try to grab the kendo stick. Bayley then hits her with a back suplex on the floor! Bayley then gets in the ring and picks up the kendo stick. Bliss looks frightened and runs. Bayley chases after her until she corners her. Bliss quickly spears her down and grabs the stick. Bliss cracks her on the back and the neck a few times with the stick. Bayley is in considerable pain. Bliss screams at her to get up. Bayley quickly pops up and hits a Bayley-To-Belly. Bayley is too hurt to follow up. The stick gets propped up in the corner. Bayley rolls Bliss up, but Bliss kicks out and sends her into the stick. Bliss hits her a few more times before giving her a DDT for the win.

Steel Cage Match
Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Hardy Boyz (c’s)

Pinfalls and submissions do not count. The team must escape the cage. Loud “DELETE” chants. Sheamus and Cesaro start climbing at the sound of the bell, but the Hardys pull them down. Cesaro gets away and nearly climbs out, but Matt grabs his ankle and pulls him down. Jeff climbs to the top rope, but Sheamus pulls him down. Jeff hits him with an inverted atomic drop before hitting a double leg to the midsection. Jeff then clotheslines him into the cage. Cesaro powerbombs Matt into the cage. Jeff attacks Cesaro and takes him down. Sheamus hits an Irish Curse Backbreaker on Jeff. Sheamus and Cesaro then send him headfirst into the cage. They then send Matt into the cage for good measure. They then start trying to climb out again. The Hardy Boyz stop them, but Sheamus and Cesaro stop their momentum. Jeff and Sheamus are whipped into each other. Matt tries to escape, but Cesaro stops him. Jeff stops Sheamus from escaping. Cesaro is crotched on the top rope, as is Sheamus. Matt slams Cesaro’s head off the cage a few times while the crowd chants “DELETE” each time. The Hardy Boyz then hit stereo dropkicks on Sheamus and Cesaro into the cage. They then hit Poetry in Motion on both men. A “Brother Nero” chant fires up. The Hardy Boyz try to climb out, but they’re stopped. All four men are brawling on the top rope. Sheamus knocks Matt down and helps Cesaro with Jeff. Jeff hits a a Russian Leg Sweep on Cesaro off the top rope while Sheamus powerbombs him. Matt then hits an elbow drop on Cesaro. Matt tries to climb out and gets a leg over. Cesaro cuts him off and sends him into the arms of Sheamus, who hits a rolling senton. The door is opened. Matt stops Sheamus from escaping. Cesaro sends Jeff into the steel cage and helps Sheamus. They then hit a double-team flapjack into the side of the steel cage. They try for the same on Jeff, but he scales the cage and nearly escapes. Cesaro stops him and knocks him down. Cesaro tries to escape, but Jeff stops him. Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick on Jeff, but he moves. Jeff sends Cesaro into the cage and hits Sheamus with a mule kick. Matt then hits a tornado DDT. All men are down.

Everyone starts climbing. The Hardy Boyz are over the top, but Sheamus and Cesaro grab them. Cesaro holds Jeff while he dangles over the floor. Jeff punches Cesaro away and falls to the floor. Matt is now in the cage alone with Sheamus and Cesaro. He needs to escape for his team to win. Matt hits both men with Side Effects. Matt tries to climb out, but Cesaro grabs him. Jeff climbs and tries to pull Matt over. Sheamus and Cesaro pull Matt off the top and fight Jeff off. They hit Matt with a double-team Crucifix Powerbomb. Jeff tries to get back in to help his brother. Jeff slams the door into Cesaro’s head. Sheamus then Brogue Kicks the door into Jeff. Sheamus tries to leave through the door, but Matt grabs his leg and drags him back in. Matt drops him with a Twist of Fate. Matt stops Cesaro from leaving and slams him off the top rope. Matt climbs, but Cesaro cuts him off with an uppercut. Matt is dangling on the top of the cage precariously. Sheamus and Cesaro then hit a double-team White Noise off the top rope! Jeff climbs the wall of the cage and stands on the top. Jeff then wipes out Sheamus and Cesaro with Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage! Matt can leave anytime he wants, but he stops to get his brother. Matt goes outside and drags his brother out while Sheamus and Cesaro climb over the cage and hit the floor first. Apparently Jeff hitting Whisper in the Wind caused him to reenter the match.

Austin Aries vs. Neville (c)

The bell rings. Neville tries to go right to work on the injured arm of Austin Aries. Neville tries to wrench away at the arm, but Aries twists out and applies a modified arm bar. Neville quickly gets to the bottom rope to break the hold. Neville yells at the crowd. Neville takes his time getting back into the ring and continues yelling at the crowd to waste time. They go for a lock-up, but Aries catches him with a guillotine. Neville quickly powers him to the corner to get out of it. Neville drives his shoulder into him before shushing the already quiet crowd. Aries cartwheels around him, but he’s soon dropped on the apron. Aries drops him down and hits a slingshot senton. They go outside the ring, and Aries drives Neville head over heels into the barricade. Aries then sends him chest-first into the barricade. Aries then drops him face-first on the LED apron. Aries gets him into the ring, but Neville quickly gets out. Neville quickly leaves the ring before Aries hits a suicide dive. Aries then leaps off the top rope onto him with a plancha. Aries’ knee gets hurt. Neville goes to work on the knee upon entering the ring with a dragon screw. Neville works on the left leg. Aries gets out and clubs away at him before clotheslining him down. Aries hits a trio of shin breakers before hitting an inverted suplex. Aries takes off his elbow pad and tries for a Discus Fivearm, but Neville blocks it. Aries hits a dragon screw and shoulders him in the midsection on the apron. Neville fights him off and dropkicks him in the knee to get him outside the ring. Neville goes outside the ring and works on the arm now. Neville gets him in the ring and kicks away at him. Neville then taunts the crowd. Neville continues to hit him before going to the top rope. Neville leaps, but Aries takes him down and applies the Figure Four Leglock. Neville gets out, but Aries quickly grounds him with a neckbreaker off the ropes. Neville avoids a missile dropkick and applies the Rings of Saturn, but Aries gets his feet on the ropes. Neville goes for another Rings of Saturn, but Aries rolls through and applies the Rings of Saturn to Neville. Neville grabs the referee to get out. Neville then superkicks him down. Neville props him up on the top rope and forearms him. Aries fights a superplex off and knocks him to the canvas. Neville scales the ropes, but Aries applies a weak looking guillotine on the top rope. Aries then hits a sunset flip powerbomb and rolls through into the Last Chancery, but Neville drags himself out of the ring. Aries doesn’t let go and applies the Last Chancery on the floor. Neville taps out on the floor, but it doesn’t count. Aries tries to pull him into the ring, but Neville snaps his arm off the top rope. Aries then comes back with a desperation Discus Fivearm. Aries goes for a suicide dive, but Neville moves. Aries hits the ground with a thud. Neville gets him in the ring and hits a Red Arrow to the back. Neville immediately follows up with the Rings of Saturn for the submission.

Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Bálor vs. Roman Reigns

Finn Bálor is not dressed as The Demon tonight.

A brawl breaks out with Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins, as well as Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt. Roman Reigns just stands back and watches while they brawl at ringside. These were the rivalries going into the show before Braun Strowman got injured. Wyatt and Joe send their opponents into the barricade. Wyatt gets in the ring and confronts Reigns. Reigns punches him to the corner, but he soon eats a boot. Wyatt goes to the second rope, but Reigns grabs him and hits a Samoan Drop. Samoa Joe gets in the ring and tries for a Samoan Drop on Reigns, but Reigns slides off and hits Joe with a Samoan Drop. Bálor comes in and punches Reigns. Bálor gets out of a Samoan Drop, but Reigns fights him back. Reigns blocks a slingshot kick and punches him down. Rollins then gets in the ring and faces off with Reigns. Reigns smirks while circling the ring. Wyatt and Joe run in to double-team Reigns. Rollins pulls Joe off and punches away at him. Wyatt then sends Reigns shoulder-first into the ring post. Bálor works away at Wyatt. Joe tries to plancha Rollins, but he moves and hits Joe with a suicide dive. In the ring, Bálor takes Wyatt down and stomps away at him. Rollins rolls in and gets stomped by Bálor. Joe tries to get in, but Bálor stomps him for good measure. Bálor then wipes out Joe, Wyatt, and Rollins with a summersault senton. Reigns then comes from out of nowhere and uppercuts him down. Reigns sends him into the barricade before bouncing his head off the apron. Wyatt grabs Reigns, but Reigns punches him off. Reigns tries for a Drive By Dropkick on Wyatt, but Joe clotheslines him out of mid-air. Joe sends him into the barricade and smiles at Joe. Joe gets Reigns up, and Wyatt sends Reigns into the barricade. Wyatt then stomps Rollins. They then send Reigns into the steel steps. They then pick up the steel steps and hit Bálor, Rollins, and Reigns with the steps. Wyatt stands on the steps while the crowd gives them a nice round of applause.

They go on the opposite side of the ring and work over Bálor. Joe sends Bálor into the ring and jabs away at him in the corner. Wyatt joins in and punches away at Bálor before giving him an uppercut. Bálor tries to fight them both off, but Wyatt quickly jabs him to take him down. They send Bálor into the ropes for a double-team shoulder block. Joe teases a cover, but he backs off. Wyatt scoop slams Bálor. Rollins runs in and takes out Wyatt and Joe. Rollins goes for a suicide dive on Wyatt, but Wyatt uppercuts him. Wyatt then DDTs Rollins on the steel steps. In the ring, Bálor is fighting off Joe, but Joe quickly applies the Coquina Clutch. Bálor uses the ropes to push back and hit a double stomp. Wyatt quickly comes in with a steel chair and cracks it off Bálor’s back. Reigns tries to get into the ring, but Wyatt cracks him on the back twice. Wyatt signals like he’s going to hit Joe, but he turns to Bálor and hits him instead. Wyatt lays the chair on Bálor and signals to Joe. Joe hits a senton splash on the chair! Joe puts the chair back on Bálor, and Wyatt hits a senton splash on the chair! They wedge the chair in the corner, but Bálor fights them off. Joe is sent headfirst into the chair. Bálor then avoids a body block from Wyatt. Reigns reenters the ring and powerbombs Bálor before taking Joe out. Reigns clubs away at Wyatt in the corner. Joe charges, but Reigns moves and Wyatt is hit instead. Reigns big boots Joe down before clotheslining Wyatt. The crowd is booing Reigns, again. Reigns sets up for a Superman Punch, but Joe drags him out of the ring. Wyatt makes the save and gives Reigns a uranage on the commentary table. The crowd chants, “One more time.” Rollins hits Wyatt with a forearm to knock him off the apron. Rollins gives Joe a plancha and gets Wyatt in the ring. Rollins hits Wyatt with a springboard forearm for a two count. Joe runs into a boot from Rollins, as does Wyatt. Rollins hits Joe and Wyatt with a double blockbuster for a two count. Rollins hits Joe with a suicide dive before getting back in the ring. Rollins sidesteps Wyatt and gets him out of the ring. Wyatt shoves Joe into another suicide dive from Rollins. Rollins gets out of a uranage in the ring from Wyatt, but he soon gets turned inside out with a clothesline. Wyatt picks Rollins up, but Rollins counters back with a falcon’s arrow for a two count. Rollins springboards into Sister Abigail from Wyatt. Joe breaks up the pin.

Wyatt is furious. Joe backs him into the corner, so Wyatt shoves him. They then start brawling. Joe avalanches him in the corner for a two count. Joe head-butts him and hits the ropes, but Wyatt annihilates him with a body block. Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail, but Joe counters into a Coquina Clutch attempt. Bálor comes in and cracks both men with a steel chair. Bálor then puts the chair on Wyatt and hits a double stomp. Bálor knocks Reigns off the apron and hits a running kick to the face. Bálor runs around ringside and dropkicks Wyatt into the barricade. Bálor then dropkicks Joe into the barricade. Bálor bounces Wyatt off the commentary table a few times. Bálor then clears off one of the foreign language commentary tables. Bálor lays Wyatt on the table. Joe grabs him from behind with a Coquina Clutch, but it isn’t completely locked in. Reigns then spears Bálor and Joe through the barricade! A “Holy Sh!t” chant fires up. Rollins then goes to the top rope and hits a Frog Splash on Wyatt through the table! Another “Holy Sh!t” chant fires up!

The crowd starts chanting, “This is awesome” while replays of what just happened are shown. Reigns is shown bleeding from the mouth. Reigns and Rollins are the only two on their feet. They hobble toward the ring and get inside. They go face to face. A “Let’s go Roman/Roman sucks,” chant fires up. Rollins punches away at Reigns and hits the ropes, but Reigns uppercuts him. They hit the ropes, Rollins avoids a clothesline, and hits an enzuigiri. Rollins hits the ropes, but Reigns floors him with a Superman Punch for a near fall. Reigns sets up in the corner and charges for a spear, but Rollins rolls him up for a two count. Rollins immediately superkicks him for another near fall. Rollins goes to the top rope and hits a Frog Splash for yet another near fall. Rollins pulls himself up to his feet and goes to the top rope. Rollins goes for a Phoenix Splash, but he lands on his feet when Reigns moves. Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail on Rollins, but Reigns saves him. Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail on Reigns, but he gets out and spears him. Reigns goes for a spear on Rollins, but he counters with a kick. Reigns avoids Rollins’ knee to the face, but Rollins kicks him. Rollins hits a turnbuckle powerbomb, but Reigns pops out of the corner and hits a Superman Punch. Bálor charges Reigns, but Reigns drops him with a Superman Punch. Reigns goes for a spear on Bálor, but he eats a Sling Blade. Bálor dropkicks Reigns into the corner and hits the Coup de Grâce. Joe immediately runs in and applies the Coquina Clutch on Bálor, and the referee calls the match! Samoa Joe will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire!
