TNA AGAINST ALL ODDS RECAPPre-Show
Jeremy Borash hosted the pre-show, announcing that hundreds of fans had been turned away from tonight's show.
They showed a video package on Christian Cage vs. Jeff Jarrett, playing up the idea that Christian may have gotten a title shot tonight because Sting "left", insinuating that Sting would have gotten the shot.
Ron Killings vs. A-1 (with Scott D'Amore & Team Canada)
Team Canada was sent to the locker room before the match even started. Killings scored a quick two with a rollup, and took A-1 down with a hiptoss and an armdrag. Killings stayed one step ahead of A-1, splitting on the mat to duck a clothesline and hitting a side kick. A-1 screwed up a whip spot, which looked really bad, and Killings quickly hit an ax kick for the clean pin in two minutes.
Winner: Ron Killings.
A video package on Abyss vs. Rhino was shown. Jim Mitchell then gave a promo, saying Rhino was bringing himself to "extinction" by taking on Abyss in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Shark Boy, Lance Hoyt & Cassidy Riley vs. David Young, Elix Skipper & Shannon Moore (with Simon Diamond).
Moore started off with Riley, with Cassidy hitting a springboard elbow and a Quebrada for an early two count. Riley ran into a Moore boot, but Young tagged himself in before Moore could follow up. Riley tripped Young and tagged in Shark Boy, who worked over Young with punches and bit him on the rear end when he missed a legdrop. Shark hit a neckbreaker for two, but was caught with a spinebuster as Shark hit Skipper on the apron. Young tagged in Skipper, who gave Shark a drop toe hold and an elbowdrop. Elix hit a double underhook suplex for a two count. Young tagged back in, and Moore was annoyed that his partners weren't tagging him. Skipper and Young kept tagging each other as they worked on Shark Boy. Moore finally tagged himself in, and gave Shark a T-Bone suplex. Skipper and Moore started arguing, and it allowed Shark to tag Hoyt, who cleaned house. The match broke down into a brawl with everyone in the ring. Skipper and Young have Hoyt a double STO, but Moore attacked his partners and threw them out of the ring, so he could go for the win on Hoyt with a single leg crab. Skipper came back in and kicked Moore, and Moore ran out of the ring. Skipper yelled after his departing partner, and Hoyt gave Skipper a Texas Powerbomb for the pin at the six minute mark.
Winners: Shark Boy, Lance Hoyt & Cassidy Riley
A video package on the Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles match was shown. Don West and Mike Tenay then ran down the card and they went backstage, where Jeremy Borash was with Larry Zbyszko and Dave Hebner. Zbyszko said there had been meetings about creating a "level playing field" for Christian vs. Jarrett, including no weapons or outside interference. They also insinuated that there would be a special referee, without actually saying it. Don West did the hard sell to end the pre-show.
Against All Odds
The PPV opened with footage of Christian arriving earlier today. We then saw footage of Scott D'Amore waiting for Jeff Jarrett to arrive, while telling Eric Young not to "mention it" to him (referring to Young's feeling that Sting is still around). Jarrett arrived with Gail Kim, and D'Amore started talking about Alex Shelley doing a "good job" with their assignment. Young told Jarrett that Sting was still around, and Jarrett told Young to repeat after him that "Sting is gone". Jarrett headed in, and D'Amore told Young tonight wasn't the night to bother Jarrett with the Sting stuff. Young kept repeating to himself "Sting is gone", trying to convince himself.
The opening video for the PPV then aired, and Mike Tenay & Don West welcomed us to the show.
Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas)
All four men started off brawling in the ring, with the Naturals hitting stereo reverse atomic drops, clotheslines and dropkicks. The Naturals gave Aries a double suplex, and Stevens scored a two count. Douglas and Stevens worked over Aries with punches, then a double-team gutbuster for another two count. The Naturals continued to work over Aries, and there was a slight "Austin Aries" chant. Stevens gave Aries some slow-motion backbreakers and a faceplant for a two count. The Naturals hit a nice facebuster/neckbreaker combo. Douglas sidestepped a charging Aries, who went into his partner on the apron and both fell to the floor. Douglas went for a dive, put on the breaks when Strong and Aries moved, but was then yanked face first into the apron by Aries. Stevens then hit a top rope shooting star press onto Aries and Strong on the floor. Aries started clutching his knee on the floor.
Strong and Stevens got back into the ring, but Aries soon tagged back in. Stevens slid out of the ring on a whip and tripped Strong to the floor, but Aries shot into him with a tope. Strong tossed Stevens back in and Aries got a two count. Strong and Aries hit a double legsweep and pounded him with punches. Strong gave Stevens a backbreaker for a two count. Stevens fought out of his opponents' corner, but Aries tripped him as he went for a tag and Strong came in to cut him off. Stevens broke out of a Strong chinlock with a chinbreaker, but Strong and Aries kept him from tagging and blasted him with a forearm (Strong) and dropkick (Aries) in the corner. Aries hit a bottom rope elbowdrop for a two count, then Strong hit a top rope elbow for another two. Aries went to the top rope, but got crotched and Stevens slammed him off the top. Douglas got the hot tag, hitting a jumping knee on Strong and backdropping Aries. Douglas hit a top rope rana on Strong, sending him on top of Aries. Douglas lifted Aries for a powerbomb, but Strong clipped his leg. Aries and Strong hit a lariat/German suplex combination for a two count. Strong and Aries hit a gutbuster/forearm/dropkick combo on Douglas, but Stevens broke up the pin. Stevens tossed Strong to the floor. Stevens and Douglas went for the Natural Disaster, but Strong pulled Douglas out of the ring. Aries rolled up Stevens, but grabbed the ropes, and the referee wouldn't count the pin. Douglas got back in the ring, and he and Stevens hit the Natural Disaster (double team stunner) on Aries for the pin at the eleven minute mark.
Winners: The Naturals.
Mike Tenay and Don West went over the card, and they replayed Zbyszko's comments about creating a "level playing field" for the NWA Title match.
Jeremy Borash interviewed AMW, Gail Kim, and Team Canada. AMW said Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt were impressive in winning the tag team tournament, but their momentum would stop tonight. Scott D'Amore held up the tape given to him by Alex Shelley, and forced a reluctant apology from Gail Kim. D'Amore said Jackie Gayda would have the "tables turned" on her on Impact this week. Larry Zbyszko walked in and said anyone who interferes in the Jarrett vs. Christian match tonight would be fired.
Alex Shelley vs. Petey Williams vs. Jay Lethal vs. Matt Bentley, with Traci.
Bentley and Williams started the match, and there was a "Let's Go Lethal" chant. Williams and Bentley traded arm wringers, and Bentley hit a back suplex and a vertical suplex for a two count. Bentley hit a kneedrop for another two, and Williams begged off, then tripped Bentley into the corner. Williams hung Bentley in the tree of woe, but was distracted by Traci. This allowed Bentley to hit a clothesline and a poor missile dropkick. Shelley tagged in, and Bentley gave him an armdrag. Lethal tagged in off of Bentley, and the crowd popped for him just tagging in. Lethal and Shelley began exchanging legsweeps and counters, ending with both men trying for dropkicks and stalemating. Lethal fired off some chops, then dropkicked him in the back of the head. There was a "Lethal Weapon" chant as Lethal delivered a cradle suplex for two. Shelley tagged Williams (using his foot), and Williams gave Lethal a backbreaker for a two count.
Shelley tagged back in and kicked Lethal in the back, then applied a hammerlock submission. Shelley decked Lethal with a right hand, then slammed him and delivered a slingshot somersault senton for a two count. Shelley tagged Williams in, and Lethal battled back with right hands. Williams flipped out of a suplex attempt and dropkicked Lethal in the back for two. Williams slammed Lethal and applied a camel clutch. Williams and Shelley, who had been working together, got into a discussion, and it allowed Lethal to make the tag to Bentley. Bentley backdropped Williams, then slammed him and went to the top rope, but Williams crotched him. Williams went for a superplex, but Shelley got under him and went for a powerbomb. Williams wouldn't let go of Bentley, so Lethal dropkicked him. Shelley got his powerbomb on Williams, but Lethal grabbed Shelley and gave him a German suplex, but Bentley gave Lethal a top rope elbowdrop.
Williams shoved Bentley to the floor. Lethal gave Williams an overhead suplex, then dropkicked Shelley as he came off the top rope. Shelley gave Lethal a drop toe hold into the ropes, then hit him with a slingshot DDT. Bentley got back in, and ended up giving Shelley a faceplant. Bentley went after Williams, but Williams swung around him with a headscissors into a side Russian legsweep. Jackie Gayda came out and yelled at Alex Shelley, then slapped him. She started hitting him in the aisle. Petey Williams, who had Bentley set for the Canadian Destroyer, was watching the drama in the aisle, and Bentley backdropped Williams. Lethal dove onto Williams, rolling him up for the pin at the eleven minute mark.
Winner: Jay Lethal.
Jeremy Borash interviewed Rhino, who said he had no fear going into his Falls Count Anywhere match with Abyss. Zbyszko came in and told Rhino that no interference would be tolerated in the main event tonight. Rhino told Zbyszko to call an ambulance for Abyss before walking off.
A video package on the James Gang vs. LAX feud was shown.
The James Gang (BG James & Kip James) vs. Homicide & Machete, with Konnan.
Konnan cut a promo, saying Machete was one of his "street soldiers" and when a soldier "goes AWOL" another soldier takes his place. Apolo wasn't mentioned by name at all. BG James did his usual pre-show mic work. Konnan, Homicide and Machete attacked them before Kip James could do his mic work. Konnan quickly left the ring, and the James Gang tossed Homicide and Machete out. Kip then started playing with his pigtails. Seriously. Homicide got in the ring, and got right in Kip's face. Kip shoved him to the mat. Homicide dropkicked his leg out, but Kip came back with a press slam. Machete came in and was hiptossed. Kip gave Homicide a powerbomb, almost losing the handle at first. BG tagged in, but Homicide poked him in the eyes. Machete tagged in, but BG slugged him to the mat and hit a kneedrop for a two count. BG kicked Machete in the back of the head. Kip tagged back in, and Machete hit some chops, but Kip no-sold them and hit a clothesline, then applied a cobra clutch, but Homicide broke it up and kicked Kip to the floor, where Konnan attacked him. Kip was thrown back in, and Homicide choked him. Homicide ran into a boot by Kip, but Homicide dodged his avalanche attempt and got a two count. Konnan took some cheap shots from the floor. Homicide went to the top rope, but missed a splash and Kip tagged BG. BG went to work on Homicide and Machete, hitting Machete with a boot to the face. Kip got in and knocked Homicide to the floor. Homicide and Kip fought on the floor, while in the ring BG hit Machete with a pump handle slam for the pin at the six minute mark.
Winners: The James Gang.
Homicide and Konnan took out Kip on the floor, then Konnan ran in the ring and hit BG with a slapjack. Konnan worked over BG as Homicide & Machete pounded Kip on the floor. Bob Armstrong came into the ring, and took off his glasses and jacket, and Konnan ran away.
Referee Mark "Slick" Johnson confronted Larry Zbyszko, saying no referee had been assigned to the main event. Johnson said he should be given the match, since he refereed "85 main events in WCW". Zbyszko said he had a referee set up for the main event, and it wasn't written down because it was on a "need to know" basis, and Johnson didn't need to know.
NWA World Tag Team Champions America's Most Wanted vs. Sonjay Dutt & Chris Sabin.
They played up that Chris Sabin was working on a bad ankle, pointing out his injury from "last night" on Impact. James Storm and Sabin started off, with Storm trying to grab Sabin's leg, so Dutt tagged in. There was a "Kill The Cowboy" chant. Storm grabbed a side headlock and hit a shoulderblock, but they began running the ropes, and Dutt grabbed a flying headscissors and a cross bodyblock for a two count. Dutt tagged in Sabin, and they hit a drop toe hold/elbowdrop/camel clutch/dropkick combo. Sabin snapmared Storm and dropkicked him in the back of the head. Harris tripped Sabin at ringside and rammed his bad ankle into the ringpost, and then into the ring apron. As Sabin tried to get into the ring, Storm hit him with a baseball slide dropkick. Storm punched Dutt on the apron. Harris tagged in and went to work on Sabin's ankle, twisting it and yanking down Sabin's kickpad on the bad ankle. Harris legdropped the bad ankle, then applied an ankle lock.
Sabin fought back with punches, but was tripped to the mat, and Storm was tagged in, giving Sabin a second rope kneedrop to the ankle, then applying a loose sleeper for some reason. Storm hit a double knee backbreaker, then drove his knee into the bad ankle. Harris tagged back in, and the referee teased that he might stop the match, but Sabin wanted to go on. Sabin elbowed Harris as he charged, then kicked him with his good leg while using the ropes to hold himself up. Sabin went for a tag, but Storm tagged in and cut him off. Sabin tried an enzugiri, but missed. Sabin finally broke free and made a tag, and Dutt cleaned house, giving Harris a double jumping knee and Storm a rana. Dutt gave AMW a double springboard dropkick, then a double Quebrada moonsault. Dutt got caught by Storm, for a Hart Attack, but Sabin gave Harris a top rope dropkick and Dutt pulled Storm into a DDT for two. Dutt went for a springboard bodypress, but Harris caught him. Harris went for a Catatonic, but Dutt turned it into a crucifix for a two count.
Storm slid a chair to Harris, then distracted the referee. Dutt dropkicked Harris in the legs, and Sabin DDT'd Harris into the chair. Dutt gave Harris a standing shooting star, but only got a two count. Storm dragged Sabin out of the ring and rammed him into the guard rail. Dutt was on the top rope, but Harris moved out of the way of his dive. Storm got in and gave Dutt a superkick, then AMW gave him the Death Sentence for the pin at the eleven minute mark.
Winners: America's Most Wanted
Post-match, AMW handcuffed Dutt in a corner, and Harris prepared to blast him with a chair, but Sabin limped in and got the chair from Harris and threw it into his face. Sabin swung the chair around as AMW left.
Jeremy Borash interviewed Jeff Jarrett & Gail Kim. Jarrett said TNA management was out of challengers, which is why Christian has a title match tonight. Jarrett said he could care less about a special referee, saying he would be walking in champion, and walking out champion. Monty Brown walked in, and Jarrett yelled at him, saying he was tired of Brown interrupting his interviews. Jarrett mocked Brown's interview style. Jarrett said he would shut up Brown, saying after Christian, Brown would get the next title shot. They shook hands on it, and Brown smiled. Jarrett left, and Brown said he would be watching tonight, because he would be bringing the title to the Serengeti.
A video package on Abyss vs. Rhino was shown.
Abyss, with Jim Mitchell, vs. Rhino, Falls Count Anywhere.
Rhino ran right to the ring and started throwing punches at Abyss, then clotheslining him over the top rope and to the floor. They went into the crowd, and fought to the back wall, then back to ringside. Rhino rammed Abyss into the steps, then threw him back into the ring. Rhino went under the ring and found some plunder, including part of a trophy. They went into the ring, and Rhino hit Abyss with a baseball bat to the gut, but Abyss gained control of a garbage can, denting it on Rhino's head. Abyss hit Rhino across the back with the kendo stick twice. Rhino was bleeding from the head from the earlier trash can shot. Abyss went to use a paint tray, but Rhino kicked him in the gut and blasted him with the tray several times. Rhino placed the trophy on Abyss' crotch, then broke it with the baseball bat.
Abyss rolled to the floor, and Rhino followed, but Abyss gave Rhino a suplex on the ramp. Abyss set up two tables below the stage area of the entranceway. Rhino crawled up onto the stage, and Abyss hit him in the head with the baseball bat. Abyss stacked two tables on top of the two he had already set up. Abyss went up to the stage and set up Rhino for a powerbomb, but Rhino popped out and rammed Abyss into the entranceway wall. Rhino went for a Gore, but Abyss caught him with a boot to the face, knocked him off the opposite side of the stage. Abyss and Rhino brawled out the door of the building and into the parking area. Abyss rammed Rhino into a car. Jim Mitchell gave Abyss the baseball bat, but Rhino ducked his swing and it hit the car (didn't break the window though). Rhino grabbed the bat and swung, also missing, but the car window didn't break again.
They brawled back into the arena, and back to ringside. Rhino slid a table into the ring, while Mitchell handed Abyss a staple gun at ringside. Rhino propped the table in a corner. As Rhino leaned through the ropes to grab Abyss, Abyss stapled Rhino twice in the head. Abyss slid a second table into the ring, and set it up. Mitchell called for the Doomsday. Rhino blocked a whip and hit a belly to belly suplex. Rhino prepared to Gore Abyss through the table, but Abyss blocked it and chokeslammed Rhino through a table for a two count. Mitchell gave Abyss a bag of thumbtacks, but before he could dump them out, Rhino gave Abyss a Gore through the table in the corner for a two count. There was a "This is awesome" chant.
Rhino set up for another Gore, but Mitchell tried to hook his leg with his cane. Rhino chased after Mitchell, and this allowed Abyss to clip him from behind. They brawled into the upper bleachers, and Abyss rammed Rhino into the side retaining wall of the bleachers. Abyss broke down the wall, and hit Rhino with a piece of wood from it. Abyss went to chokeslam Rhino off the bleachers (the tables that were set up earlier were below them), but Rhino kicked Abyss low. Rhino then charged Abyss with a Gore (more like a shoulderblock, as Rhino didn't go down with him) and Abyss went off the bleachers and through the double stack of tables below. Rhino climbed down and pinned Abyss in the wreckage of the tables at the sixteen minute mark.
Winner: Rhino.
They showed multiple replays of Abyss' fall as EMTs checked on him.
Jeremy Borash interviewed Samoa Joe, who said it wasn't about any "code of the X-Division", but rather, it was about the X-Division Title. Joe said he had two towels, holding up a bloody one and a clean one. Joe said one was a reminder, and the other was to be added to the trophy case.
Back in the arena, Abyss was finally helped to his feet, and the fans chanted for him.

X-Division Champion Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels.
Samoa Joe threw his bloody towel at Daniels when he came to the ring. The announcers played up that Joe could see his unbeaten streak end tonight. All three men were going against each other at the start, with no one getting an instant advantage. Joe gave Daniels a kneedrop, but Styles gave Joe a slam and a kneedrop. Styles gave Joe and Daniels dropkicks, then gave Daniels a backbreaker. Daniels rolled to the floor, and Styles went to give Joe a vertical suplex, but Joe reversed it into a gourdbuster. Joe kicked Styles in the chest, then went to charge him in the corner, but Daniels cut him off and hit some forearms. Daniels monkeyflipped Styles into Joe, and Joe put Styles into a Boston Crab, but Daniels broke it up with an enzugiri. Daniels hit a jumping knee, sending Joe to the floor. Styles elbowed Daniels, then went to the apron and kicked Joe, but Daniels kicked him off the apron. Daniels went for a tope on Styles, but Joe stopped it with a palm strike to the head. Styles whipped Joe into the guard rail on the floor.
Styles got back in the ring and gave Daniels a vertical suplex, then applied a Mutalock, turning it over to invert it, but Joe broke it up with a kick and put Styles in an STF. Daniels put Joe in a Koji Clutch while Joe had the STF on Styles. They broke the holds, and Daniels slammed Styles and gave him a slingshot elbow for two. Daniels missed a charge on Joe, and Joe hit a series of chops and a jumping knee in the corner. Joe gave Daniels a facewash and a running kick to the face. Daniels fell to the floor. Styles charged Joe, but Joe caught him with an STO. Daniels shoulderblocked Joe from the apron, then tried to suplex Joe, but Joe blocked it and slapped Daniels to the floor. Styles charged Joe, Joe ducked and Styles flipped over the top rope into a senton on Daniels on the floor. Styles and Daniels exchanged punches on the floor, and Joe took both men down with a tope into forearms on both men. There was a "TNA" chant.
Joe threw Daniels back into the ring, then kicked Styles on the floor before throwing him back into the ring as well. Joe, on the apron, was given a legsweep by Styles, and Daniels knocked Joe to the floor. Styles and Daniels began exchanging rollups for two count. Joe got into the ring, and grabbed Daniels. Styles gave Daniels a discus lariat, sending him into Joe's German suplex. Joe the knocked down Styles and covered Daniels for a two count. There was a "This is awesome" match. Joe gave Daniels a reverse atomic drop, a kick to the head, and a senton for a two count. Joe kicked Styles in the head. Daniels hit Joe with some right hands to the gut, but ran into Joe's powerslam for two. Joe went for a jujigatame, but Daniels got his feet on the ropes. Joe went back to Styles, and kicked him again, then put Daniels in a corner and chopped him. Joe kicked Daniels in the gut and sat him on the top rope. Styles attacked Joe from behind, and hit an enzugiri. Daniels got off the ropes and gave Styles some forearms. Joe dropkicked Styles into Daniels' faceplant. Daniels went for the Koji Clutch on Styles, but Joe kneedropped him.
Daniels and Joe tried for German suplexes on each other, with Daniels finally powering Joe up and over. Daniels gave Joe a uranage, then hit the Best Moonsault Ever for a two count. Daniels called for Angel's Wings, but Joe wouldn't go over, and Styles gave him a sunset flip, trying for a Styles Clash, but Daniels kicked it off. Styles tried for it again, but Daniels flipped out of it and clotheslined Styles. Joe caught Daniels with a kick, then went for a Muscle Buster on Styles. Styles flipped out of it, then went back and forth hitting both opponents, including a Pele Kick on Joe and a gutbuster on Daniels. Styles gave Daniels a torture rack into a powerbomb, but Joe broke up the pin.
Styles hit Joe with the moonsault into a reverse DDT for two. Styles called for the Clash on Joe, but Daniels broke it up. Styles reversed a whip and gave Daniels a clothesline in the corner. Joe backdropped Styles to the apron. Daniels lifted Joe, and Styles gave Joe a top rope forearm to the head before Daniels hit the Death Valley Driver on Joe. Daniels and Styles broke up each other's pin attempts on Joe. Styles knocked Daniels to the floor and went to the top rope for Spiral Tap on Joe. Daniels blocked it from the apron, crotching Styles on the top rope, and as they struggled for position, Joe got up and knocked Daniels off the apron and to the floor. Joe then pulled Styles off the ropes and into the Muscle Buster for the pin at the seventeen minute mark.
Winner: Samoa Joe
Styles was out cold in the ring, and Joe stared at Daniels, who was standing on the floor saying "I'm still standing, this isn't over".
A video was shown on the Team 3D-Team Canada feud. Jeremy Borash interviewed Team 3D, with Brother Ray saying the fans wanted Team Canada's blood spilled tonight. Brother Ray said three things were certain in life "Death, Taxes and Tables".
Team 3D vs. Team Canada (Bobby Roode & Eric Young, with Scott D'Amore).
Team 3D went right at it with Roode and Young, brawling on the floor. Brother Ray backdropped Roode on the entrance ramp, and following with an elbowdrop. Brother Ray and Devon chopped Young on the floor, and Devon threw him into the guardrail. Roode was thrown into the ring, and Brother Ray worked him over with punches and elbows, then choked him against the middle rope. It actually became a tag match at this point, and Roode kicked away a backdrop attempt, but Brother Ray gave him a German suplex, then slammed Eric Young as he climbed to the top rope. Devon tagged in and he and Brother Ray gave Young a sideslam/legdrop combo. Devon slammed Young and dropped an elbow.
Devon hit Young with a spinning back elbow, knocked down Roode as he ran in, and gave Young a clothesline in the corner. D'Amore got on the apron, and Devon grabbed him, but Young stopped him from hitting D'Amore. Devon hit Young with a shoulderblock. Roode pulled down the top rope and Devon went to bounce off it, and Devon fell to the floor. D'Amore ripped the bandage off Devon's head and reopened his cut by raking his head across the ring steps. Back in the ring, Roode choked Devon against the middle rope, and D'Amore wiped Devon's blood on the Tag Team Of The Year plaque.
Roode & Young hit Devon with a double suplex, then Roode applied a rear chinlock. Devon battled out of it, cradling Roode for a two count, but Roode came back with a suplex. Young tagged in and stood on Devon's throat. Young worked over the bloody Devon, and put him in a camel clutch. Roode tagged in, slamming Devon and hitting a fistdrop from the middle rope, followed by a top rope elbowdrop by Young. Brother Ray broke up the pin. Roode taunted Brother Ray by holding Devon's hand towards him, then putting him in a camel clutch. Roode dropped all his weight on Devon's back, then tagged Young back in, and he reapplied the camel clutch. Young went to drop his weight on him, but Devon turned over and kneed him in the groin. Devon gave Roode an enzugiri and made the hot tag to Brother Ray.
Brother Ray came off the top rope with a flying bodypress on Roode & Young. He then hit a series of clotheslines, a hiptoss on Roode, a backdrop on Young, a Samoan Drop on Roode, and a side slam on Young. Team Canada managed to stop his momentum with a flapjack for a two count. Young went to the top rope, but Brother Ray reversed a whip and sent Roode into the corner, crotching Young. Brother Ray gave Roode a suplex, then gave Young a superplex, but Roode broke up the cover. Roode kicked Devon off the apron. Roode went to hit Brother Ray with the hockey stick, but he ducked it. Brother Ray went for a full nelson, but Roode hit him with a low mule kick, then hit him with the hockey stick. Young covered Brother Ray for a two count, then missed a moonsault. Roode accidentally clotheslined Young when Brother Ray ducked. Brother Ray tossed Roode from the ring, and Team 3D hit 3D on Young for the pin.

Scott D'Amore ran in, and was cornered by Team 3D. AMW ran out, and there was a five-on-two beat down on Team 3D. A table was set up, and Team 3D was placed on it, but Ron Killings ran out for the save. AMW ran off, and Eric Young was put through a table with a Killings top rope legdrop.
Jeremy Borash interviewed Christian, who talked about how he has dreamed about this moment, having his chance to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Christian said we would find out tonight if he made the right move leaving WWE for TNA. Christian said tonight he would prove that he wasn't just a mid-card comedy act. Christian then joked about Jeff Jarrett's affinity for wearing white jeans, before getting serious again about winning the title.
They aired a video package on the Jarrett-Christian match.
Larry Zbyszko and Dave Hebner came out with the "specially appointed referee" ... Earl Hebner. The announcers immediately pointed out Earl's role in the infamous Montreal Screwjob.

They mouthed off at each other at the bell, then Christian shoved Jarrett in the chest. They locked up, broke apart, and Christian hit two shoulderblocks, then teased an Unprettier, but Jarrett got away from him. Jarrett hit a knee to the gut and some right hands, then applied a side headlock. Jarrett hit a drop toe hold and slapped Christian. Christian tackled Jarrett, hit some right hands, an worked him over in a corner. Christian hit a second rope sunset flip after a head fake for a two count. Christian suplexed Jarrett to the apron, then Jarrett suplexed Christian to the apron. They jockeyed for position, and Christian gave Jarrett a reverse DDT on the apron. They showed Christian's wife watching in the crowd. Christian went to the top rope and dove at Jarrett, but Jarrett moved and Christian hit the guard rail. Jarrett picked up Christian by the legs and swung him into the rails.
Jarrett slugged Christian around ringside, then hit a weak catapult, sending Christian into the announcers table. Jarrett threw Christian back into the ring, then nailed him with a dropkick for a two count. Jarrett gave Christian a back suplex into a powerbomb for a two count, then applied a rear chinlock. Christian elbowed out of it and hit some chops, but got caught with a Hot Shot. Jarrett choked Christian against the middle rope, and Earl Hebner pulled Jarrett off of him by the hair. Jarrett shoved Hebner, and Hebner shoved him back. Jarrett straddled Christian on the ropes, then slid out of the ring and nailed him with a right hand. While Jarrett argued with Hebner about the punch, Gail Kim gave Christian a top rope rana. Jarrett worked over Christian with punches, then applied a sleeper, but Christian reversed it. Jarrett sent Christian into the ropes, missed two clotheslines, then tried a leapfrop, but Christian caught him and powerbombed him to the mat.
Christian applied a figure four leglock, but Gail Kim helped Jarrett grab the ropes. Christian argued with the referee, and Jarrett gave him an enzugiri. Jarrett put Christian in a Sharpshooter, and they teased that Hebner would call for the bell, but Christian grabbed Hebner's pants leg and told him he wasn't submitting. Jarrett made the ropes, but Hebner missed it, and Christian got pulled back to center ring. Christian finally reversed it, applying his own Sharpshooter. Jarrett turned over and kicked Christian away, but Christian bounced out of the corner and dropped head first into Jarrett's groin. Both men were down. They both got to their feet and traded right hands. Christian hit a reverse atomic drop, and then a running forearm. Christian elbowed Jarrett, and when Jarrett went for a slam, Christian reversed it into a DDT for a two count.
Christian whipped Jarrett across the ring, but Jarrett slid under Christian's legs on the rebound and kicked Hebner's leg. Christian slammed Jarrett and went to the top rope, but Gail Kim hooked his leg. Hebner, nursing his bad leg, didn't see this. Jarrett got on the top rope with Christian and gave him a top rope Stroke. Jarrett covered, and Hebner crawled over for a two count. Jarrett fired off some punches, then accidentally whipped Christian into Earl Hebner, knocking him out. Christian gave Jarrett the Unprettier. Referee Mark Johnson slid into the ring and counted, but Jarrett kicked out at two. Christian went to give Jarrett the Stroke, but Jarrett cut him off with a low blow. The referee saw it, and was about to disqualify Jarrett, so Jarrett gave Johnson a low blow and knocked him out of the ring. Jarrett had Gail Kim give him a chair, but Christian dropkicked the chair into Jarrett. Christian covered, but with Hebner out in the ring and Johnson out on the floor, there was no referee to count. Christian then chased Gail Kim around and into the ring. Christian was going to give Gail an Unprettier, but Jarrett blasted Christian with the guitar. Gail cleaned the remnants of the guitar out of the ring as Jarrett covered Christian. Hebner rolled over and counted, but Jarrett got his shoulder up at two. Gail Kim went for a top rope rana, but Christian caught it and powerbombed Gail Kim. Jarrett grabbed Christian and set up for a Unprettier, but Christian reversed it, then Jarrett reverse it into Stroke position, then Christian reversed it again into an Unprettier. Hebner crawled over and made the three count at the eighteen minute mark.

Fireworks went off as Christian celebrated. Christian went to ringside and kissed his wife, then returned to the ring and held up the title belt as Rhino came in and lifted Christian into the air. Fans ran into the ring in celebration as the show ended.
