Ring of Honor issued the following:

Best in the World 2016 featured three outstanding title matches, including The Biggest Rematch in ROH history, as well as the goriest, most disturbing Fight Without Honor of all time.

Kicking off the night at the Cabarrus Arena in Concord, N.C., was a hard-hitting and surprisingly evenly contested match between Kyle O’Reilly and Kamaitachi. The rising Japanese star nearly pulled off the upset before O’Reilly won by submission with an armbar.

O’Reilly, who entered the match knowing he has an ROH World Title shot Saturday night, may have been looking past Kamaitachi, who showed a much more aggressive side than ROH fans had previously seen from him.

After the match, O’Reilly extended his hand, but in a despicable show of disrespect, Kamaitachi spit on O’Reilly’s hand and stormed out of the ring.

The self-proclaimed “Last Real Man in Professional Wrestling,” Silas Young found out that ACH was more man than he bargained for, as ACH scored a convincing victory over Young by hitting Midnight Star.

In a match filled with mixed emotions, Mark Briscoe (who was sporting a fresh buzz cut) defeated Roderick Strong with a Fisherman Buster suplex to finally earn Strong’s respect.

After the match, Strong, who announced earlier this week that he was leaving ROH for other opportunities, shook Briscoe’s hand and embraced him. As Strong exited the ring, the fans paid tribute to “Mr. ROH” by chanting, “Thank you, Roddy.”

In a wild, Tornado Rules six-man match, The Bullet Club’s Adam Cole and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) beat Moose and War Machine (Raymond Rowe and Hanson).

After The Young Bucks hit the 5-Star Meltzer Driver on Moose, they gave Cole the privilege of scoring the winning pinfall.

ROH World Tag Team Champions The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) to retain their title, thanks to an assist from an unlikely source.

During the match, Kamaitachi came down to ringside and started a fight with New Japan Pro Wrestling Young Lion Jay White, who was seated in the front row.

While the referee was distracted by the brawl between Kamaitachi and White on the floor, Daniels took out Shelley with a low blow. Shortly thereafter, The Addiction hit The Best Meltzer Ever on Saban for the win.

After the match, Kamaitachi celebrated with The Addiction. What is Kamaitachi’s issue with White? Why has he joined forced with The Addiction? Stay tuned.

In what was perhaps the most violent, sadistic bloodbath in ROH history, BJ Whitmer defeated Steve Corino in the ultimate Fight Without Honor, but Whitmer didn’t do it alone.

Corino, who had one of his front teeth knocked out early in the match, and Whitmer were both bleeding profusely when the lights suddenly went out.

When they came back on, one of the most wicked men ever in pro wrestling, Kevin Sullivan, was standing in the ring. Sullivan drove his golden spike into Corino’s head, and Whitmer followed with an exploder suplex for the win.

ROH World Television Champion Bobby Fish successfully defended his title with a hard-fought victory over Dalton Castle.

Castle appeared to be on the verge of winning his first championship in ROH after he suplexed Fish on his head and then set up for The Bang-A-Rang. Fish, however, countered Castle’s finisher and turned it into a pinning combination for the win.

The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King) came out to the stage along with “The Minister of Information” Caprice Coleman. The trio announced that they will now be referred to as The Cabinet, and claimed they would make wrestling great again,

In The Biggest Rematch in ROH History, a bout that was one year in the making, ROH World Champion Jay Lethal defeated Jay Briscoe to prove once again that he truly is the best in the world.

It looked as if Briscoe was going to become the first three-time ROH World Champion after he hit a Lethal Injection/Jay Driller combination, but Lethal somehow managed to kick out.

Lethal later hit a top-rope cutter and followed with the Lethal Injection for the victory.

After the epic encounter, Lethal and Briscoe shook hands.
