Hi Georgie!
I thought I'd send you some photos from Ric Flair's autograph this weekend here in Houston. "The Nature Boy" appeared at IT'Z off Tomball Parkway and signed from 11am to 2pm.
Naitch was a class act and invited people to come up and sit next to him while he signed whatever you put in front of him. I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes with him and we talked about everything from Mickey Rourke to Obama, and I also told him how much I loved his story from his Hall of Fame speech, of when he ran up an insane bar tab in London, England after Summerslam '92 and had to get Arnie Skaaland out of bed to come and take care of it. He laughed about it and said, "That's a true story, brother."
The documentary from WWE's recent "Definitive Ric Flair" DVD was playing on a big screen in the room, and it was interesting (and sad) to see Ric watching it himself and actually getting a little choked up as he watched the final few scenes were his peers talk about what he means to the business and they showed clips of him post-Mania hugging Steamboat, Rhodes, his family, etc. When the final scene of Ric yelling "I will never retire!!" came on, Flair laughed to himself and then carried on signing.
The event was well organized and very smooth, and there was a really polite, professional team there to make sure everything ran without a hiccup.Unfortunately, the box of promos for Ric to autograph for everyone didn't arrive on time, but the organizers took down everybody's name and address and promised to send them in the mail once Ric was able to sign them all and get them shipped out.
Anyway, it was a great day and if any fans get the chance to attend a signing with Slic Ric, I totally recommend it. Thanks Ric for the experience.
And thank you Georgie for all your hard work on this site. I visit here every day and I would never have even known about Ric's appearance if not for your autograph section. I didn't see it advertised anywhere else. So thank you and God Bless:-)
