with photo’s..

I would like to say that although this will be a little late, I think there are some people waiting for this post.

I thought I would share my thoughts on the Ric Flair signing in Washington D.C. at the auto show a few days ago, I was there first thing in the morning to be first in line because I was expecting a huge turn out for the nature boy. How often does Ric flair do autograph signings and on top of that...it was for FREE.. ( With a $10. admission fee to the car show ).  By 11 am there were maybe 10 or 12 of us.
And here is where it gets great,  what made the day fly by and was a surprise to be just as great as meeting ric flair was the fellow fans that showed up early.
To meet other wrestling fans and to get their point of view on different wrestlers or on pro wrestling in general and to see what they had brought to have Ric flair sign was something that was a real treat. We compared championship belts, autographs, photos and stories. Now remember that I was first in line and I got in line at 10 am knowing that slick Ric wouldn't start signing till 7 pm IF the signing would start on time. Well the bunch of guys that I was in line with were friendly, kind, fun to talk to and just ..a great bunch of guys.
I had the time of my life meeting people from Conn., Jersey, NYC, Maryland and then there is me coming  from L.A. to meet the greatest pro wrestler of all time.
Alot of us brought championship belts, someone named joe (  I'll call him joe cool ) brought a very large ( 18 x12 inch ) 4 horsemen picture with all the horsemens autographs signed except  Ric flair.
We had a time of fellowship, talking about the wrestlers we have met,  and checking out the different belts that people in line brought to the signing and speaking about the state of pro wrestling today.
I have included a pic of the belt gang, these were the people at the front of the line and we all got together and held up our belts for photos. We had a good time. To the best of my knowledge theirthey are  (going by memory here) : adam, paul, mike, joes son, chad, frank, myself  and I believe larry.
Everyone in the front of the line was talkative, respectful to watch our place when we had to get something to eat or to leave the line for a moment.
As the day went by the excitement grew and we knew we were going to meet the greatest of all time. We enjoyed sharing wrestling stories and when you can wait in line for over 9 hours and have a great day it is because of the company you keep. A special thanks to zig for taking the photos of Ric flair and I shaking hands and for taking the pic of Ric signing my belt. Likewise I took pics of some people that didn't have a camera and their pics are on thei way to them. No worries.
Thanks to everyone at wrestlingfigs for putting on such a great website.
 ~Vince.
