CM Punk is set to face Colt Cabana this Saturday in Chicago Ridge, IL at the Frontier Fieldhouse. The World Title will be on the line if Punk keeps it after Friday night. Saturday will be Punk's final night in ROH and the last of his career long battles against fellow Second City Saint Colt Cabana. It will be extra bittersweet for both men as they wrestle in their hometown of Chicago. Here is what Punk sent the ROH offices about this final match:
"I never thought it'd be me saying goodbye to Cabana. Not like I'm dying or anything, but I always KNEW in my heart that he'd be in the WWE long before me. So I guess that right there is the one time I've ever been wrong in my life. He started with the look, the size, the right attitude, and developed into what I thought was the best all around wrestler and he did it very quickly. People on the outside looking in can never know how much he helped me become who I am today and get to where I am. I'm not sure Cabana knows how much he's helped me.
I can count on one hand the things and people that matter to me. Cabana is one of them. I've given up a lot, ruined some good things, and been a big prick, but he never faulted me for any of it. He was always standing right beside me, shaking his head, going along for the ride. That's what friends do I suppose. At least that's what they should do, and that's what he always did.
I can remember wrestling him in every state, in about any type of match you can think of, on any given holiday. We've wrestled each other on our birthdays. Suplexed each other off of pop machines, wrestled each other when we didn't feel like ever wrestling each other again, etc., etc. So now I'm leaving, and it kills me to think that this might be the last time I get to wrestle somebody who over the course of the last six years has become my brother. However, we're in Chicago. It's like it was meant to be. If I go out, I can't think of a better way. Two home town kids. Two best friends. Doing what they dreamed about doing since they were little kids. It's going to be emotional in Chicago Saturday night, and ya know, sometimes part of me gets nervous and thinks, "what if I screw up, what if it's a bad match?"
