Typically December 26th and 27th are days for people to sit back, relax, enjoy the holidays passed, and prepare for the new year. But for Ring of Honor, it’s a time to give back to our fans with a major Christmas present of our own over the course of “Final Battle” weekend.
At “Glory by Honor VII” in September, Kensuke Sasaki and Katushiko Nakajima made their highly anticipated ROH debuts against Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson respectively. The current GHC Champion showed his power in a victory over Claudio, while Nakajima demonstrated why many consider him the future of Japanese wrestling in a loss to Danielson. Both wrestlers were impressed with the level of competition in ROH, and expressed interest in returning in the near future.
Well that future is now as these two fierce competitors will get an opportunity to impress the ROH faithful once more when they return to Philadelphia on Dec. 26th and debut in the Hammerstein Ballroom on Dec. 27th!
Each competitors opponents will be announced in the upcoming weeks, and you can be assured Ring of Honor will put together the best match-ups possible. “Final Battle” has served up some of the greatest moments in ROH history; from Aries title victory in ’04 to the AOTF tag title win in ’07, that event always delivers. October 28th: In case you missed the announcement earlier today (see below), Kensuke Sasaki and Katushiko Nakajima make their return to Ring of Honor for Final Battle weekend on Friday, December 26th in Philadelphia, PA and Saturday, December 27th in New York City. Tickets are on sale now for both events.
October 28th: A small correction to yesterday’s report, the Austin Aries/Jimmy Jacobs match on 11/22 in Chicago will indeed be an “I Quit” match. The Dog Collar match between Aries and Jacobs is still scheduled for the great fans in Toronto. Tickets on sale now for both events!
October 28th: Brash newcomer and YRR member, Kenny King, is coming to Canada with a purpose, “I’m 100 times the athlete of the busters in ROH,” said King. “It’s time to make my mark, and believe me, make it I will. I always have a plan, and when it comes to fruition, Ring of Honor will be forced to pay attention.”
October 28th: Chris Hero and Larry Sweeney have reportedly reached an unmatched level of confidence when talking about the upcoming “Lights Out Match” between Hero and Roderick Strong on 11/21 in Dayton. Sweeney has stacked the deck once again as Strong will have to go through Davey Richards in Montreal. “Rodney Strong will be lucky if he gets back down from America’s hat anyway,” said Sweeney, “because I have unleashed Davey Richards, and in Montreal he will feed on him and leave him for dead. Ain’t no doubt about it! Hahahahaha!!!”
October 28th: New Ring of Honor DVD releases include Age Of Insanity" from 8/15/08 in Cleveland. This event includes one of Nigel McGuinness' most exciting title defenses as he puts the ROH World Championship on the line against El Generico plus Roderick Strong & Brent Albright vs. Go Shiozaki & Chris Hero, Erick Stevens vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Briscoes vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious, Austin Aries vs. Tyler Black, Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny King, Delirious vs. Rhett Titus and more.
