- ROH officials are sorting through the Roderick Strong/Tyler Black/World Title situation. Black publicly offered Strong the first crack at the ROH World Title, but in the middle of it all, things got physical and Strong was superkicked by Black during the bout in New York. Sources can now confirm that an altercation took place backstage between Black and Strong, with both Austin Aries and Jim Cornette present. It was intimated that video footage of this incident will air during an upcoming episode of ROH on HDNet. Meanwhile, Pick 6 competitors have been submitting petitions for a chance to face Black, many of whom hold a higher rank than Roderick Strong. Adding to the drama, Austin Aries has officially demanded his championship rematch. Unnamed ROH officials indicated to us that Black has not backed off of his word, and continues to stand by his offer to Strong. In the meantime, ROH officials are also reviewing a contract that was previously signed by both Strong and Black for ROH’s return to Toronto. We’ll have more on this next week, but it was explained that neither man, especially Strong, is happy about what they signed for.

- The relationship between Kevin Steen and Steve Corino has mesmerized more than a few people, and as anyone that saw ROH on HDNet a couple of weeks back, they can be deadly as a team. The Super Smash Brothers are next in line to find out. Signed for March 19th in suburban Detroit, it will be Steen and Corino taking on the SSB! Steen hasn’t forgotten the upset victory that Players Uno and Dos scored over him at Death Before Dishonor VII, and at the same time, the Smash Brothers know they have what it takes to hang with Mr. Wrestling. Can the SSB score another huge win, or will the addition of the crafty Corino prove too much to handle? Be there on 3/19 to see it unfold!

- Kenny Omega has been on a tear in Japan for DDT and New Japan over the past few months but is excited to return to ROH action! “It’s been a while, but I’m finally coming back to ROH, and I want to come back in a BIG way,” said Omega. “I’ve grown as a competitor and I’m ready to take the next step in ROH.” Omega has requested two specific matches for ROH’s suburban Detroit and Toronto returns, and ROH officials are reviewing both request. We’ll have word on this as it develops.

- Talks of Kevin Steen facing El Generico have started to surface after the two came face to face in New York for the first time since Final Battle, with Steen sucker-punching Generico and locking him in a vicious crossface. Steen has stated that a match is something he has no interest in. "People are so narrow-minded. They think that because I finally cured myself of the disease, that this automatically means I want to wrestle him. Let me make it clear then - I want to nothing to do with him. If Cabana would just mind his own business I would be the happiest man alive right now, not having him cross my mind ever again. I keep telling people I don’t want to talk about him. I want nothing to do with him. I don’t want to associate with him or anyone close to him, in any way, shape or form. I have better people like Steve Corino around me now, and above all else I don’t want to get in trouble for what I would do to him if a match ever did happen. I don’t care if he dies. I just wouldn’t want to be held responsible. And I would be. It won't happen, I don’t want it. And believe me, I KNOW he doesn’t want it." As has become the norm, Generico had no comment.

- Speaking of El Generico, he has signed on for huge Pick 6 action when ROH returns to Mississauga, Ontario on March 20th. After falling just short against Davey Richards in New York, the “generic luchador” has signed to face yet another top-notch competitor in the hopes of shaking him from the funk that Kevin Steen has placed him in. Colt Cabana commented, “He is so close. He’s right there. He’s ready to break out again. I thought Davey would bring him out of it, and he nearly did, but we’ve got another hurdle to climb. That hurdle is Chris Hero.” Signed for suburban Toronto is El Generico versus Chris Hero! Will Generico break his cycle of grief or will he suffer a K.O. from Hero’s elbow? Tickets for Mississauga are available now at www.rohwrestling.com!

- Ring of Honor returns to Philadelphia on March 5th and 6th for two more night of National Television Tapings for HDNet! March 5th will conclude the World Television Title Tournament with two semi-final matches and the finals. Word from The American Wolves camp is that Eddie Edwards has been working to perfect the Achilles Lock submission hold during his current tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH in preparation for him semi-final matchup. Edwards is slated to face the man who broke his elbow back in September, Kevin Steen, while Davey Richards will compete against Kenny King to determine who advances to the finals of the tournament. Don’t miss your chance to sit in on history as ROH will crown its very first World TV Champion on March 5th in Philadelphia!

- We’ll be back next week with more on ROH’s huge Michigan/Ontario swing as well as the first matchups for our Phoenix, Arizona debut!

Here in the early months of 2010 one man has been noticeably absent from Ring of Honor due to his outside commitments: Kenny Omega.  His Japanese bookings, which included debuting for New Japan Pro Wrestling, have kept him away from ROH competition since “Final Battle 2009” where he was on the losing end of a Four Corner Survival AND found himself bumped out of the “Pick 6” in the same night.  December 19, 2009 was not the best night for Omega, and certainly not a grand way to end the year where he truly broke out in ROH with his epic clashes against Davey Richards and Austin Aries at “Clash of the Contenders” and “The Omega Effect” respectively.  After a successful tour abroad, Omega is finally coming back to ROH with one goal in mind: Solidifying his place at the top in ROH.

In order to get back on track, he must get back into the “Pick 6”, and there are two huge roadblocks in his path when ROH returns to Michigan and Canada on March 19th and 20th.  First, when ROH debuts in Dearborn, Omega will have a “Reverse The Curse” rematch with Roderick Strong, and Strong’s number six spot in the rankings will be up for grabs. Last December, Strong was able to pick up the victory and hold onto his spot.  Fast forward three months and both men have been through quite a bit.  Strong is in the thick of the World Title picture after the events of the “8th Anniversary Show”, while Omega’s overseas excursion has upped his game considerably.  For Strong to remain in title contention, he must win this match, otherwise his promised title shot may not mean anything. For Omega, it’s a must-win as well if he wants to have a prayer of getting into contention anytime soon.  That sixth spot in the Pick 6 rankings is the easiest to lose, and both Roddy and Kenny are well aware of this fact, but the path to glory is never easy and these are two men willing to go the distance to take their spot.

Unfortunately for Omega, the road hits a huge checkpoint the following evening when ROH returns to Mississauga, Ontario. That checkpoint is called Davey Richards.  At “Clash Of The Contenders”, Omega and Richards had one of 2009’s classic bouts in which Omega pinned Richards for the three count.  Now Richards comes to Canada looking for a receipt as he attempts to get back into the ROH World Title hunt.  Should Omega make it through Strong and take his number six rank, this match could also be a “Pick 6” contest.  Kenny Omega could very well find himself on the outs in the title picture just as quickly as he earned his way in should Richards defeat him in Mississauga.  In October when these two last met, they tore into one another with a surprising ferocity, and you can beat there will be more of the same, especially if potential title opportunities are factored in. And what will happen here should Richards capture the ROH World Television Title on March 5th?  There are still a great deal of factors that could affect the color of this contest before we even get to March 20th so keep your eyes on ROHWrestling.com as we head into this huge March weekend.

Omega vs. Strong, March 19th, Pick 6 spots on the line! Omega vs. Richards, March 20th, The Rematch!  Get your tickets now right here at www.rohwrestling.com for these two events that also feature a 6-Man Tag Team War as Tyler Black and The Briscoes face Chris Hero and The American Wolves on Friday night, as well as Austin Aries, Colt Cabana, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Petey Williams and more!!!
