"Unscripted 3"

1) Pre-Show:  Alex "Sugarfoot" Payne d. Rhett "The Sexiest Man Alive" Titus in 5:52 with a perfect plex which was not so perfect.  Maybe a SUGARPLEX~! Sugarfoot was of course was super over in Chicago complete with plenty of streamers and even a CENSORED EM UP SUGARFOOT chant.   Rhett, who was sporting some wonderful sparkly fringe (sadly, not the fringe of the night), hit a powerslam for two, then attempted some cocky dance into a leg drop but missed completely.  Sugarfoot hit a SPINNING BACKFIST which is without a doubt the most copied wrestling move of 2007.  There was no handshake after the match, and Sugarfoot took chase after Rhett to the back to demand a handshake.

2) Pre-Show MAIN EVENT - ROH Top of the Class Trophy Match: Ernie Osirus d. former champion Mitch Franklin at 5:59 with a standing shooting star press. Franklin had a lot of what the Japanese call "fighting spirit" in the match; he did look jacked and attacked Osirus at the bell. Adam Pearce did his Gary Michael Capetta and said there were ten minutes gone by two minutes into the match!  Fair match.

The start time was moved from 7:30 to 8:00 due to the awful weather and how hard it was for both the fans and the wrestlers to get there.  Bobby Cruise announced that due to the conditions tonight's t Trios Tournament 2007 is off and tonight will be Unscripted 3.  The first unscripted (September 21, 2002) was due (I believe) to Spanky being sent to Japan for Zero1 and not being able to be there for the tournament to crown the first ROH Tag Team Champions (he was scheduled to partner with PAUL LONDON~! for the humble beginnings of the Londrick team) and setting up the famous London vs. Shane street fight ladder match.  The second Unscripted was on February 11, 2006 when a snowstorm hit the east coast and TNA (which was having a PPV the next day) called all of their guys to Florida for the PPV.  Homicide, Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal were all pulled off the show, and Low Ki who was originally supposed to face Roderick Strong on the show, left ROH.

3) Austin Aries d. Tyler Black (with Lacey & Allison Wonderland) in 14:32 with a brainbuster 450 combo. Austin Aries comes out, he thanks everyone for overcoming obstacles to be at the show tonight.  He cut a promo about himself and Ring of Honor dealing with obstacles are being put in their way.  He also noted ROH like Austin Aries gives 110% and asked for someone to come from the back. Tyler Black came out with Lacey (who looked incredibly hot and slutty in her AOTF wrestling gear) and the lovely Allison Wonderland from Minnesota and cut a rebuttal promo about opportunity. Tyler got heat from the crowd who asked him to politely "shut the CENSORED up."  Match begins! Black looked very good and the match had a great open followed by a lot of near falls. Aries kicks have improved greatly and he connected with an awesome flying judo chop off the top rope during the match. In one awesome spot, Black whipped Aries into the ropes for a dropkick, Aries grabbed the top rope to stop and Black did a complete flip for his dropkick, missing but landing on his feet.  He ran after Aries, and was backdropped over the top rope, as soon as Tyler went over Aries ran to the other side of the ring, came off the ropes with an awesome tope.  Awesome sequence.  Aries went to the top rope, but Tyler hit him with a dropkick that sent Aries over the outside.  Tyler took advantage with a hard suplex on the arena floor.  The action went back into the ring where the crowd would boo whenever Tyler hit a punch or put a sleeper on Aries, and cheer for Aries. Very easy and excited crowd.  Aries came back with a Russian leg sleep, a power elbow, and even a power elbow to the outside.  He then hit like 20 elbows into the corner on Tyler, Tyler came back with a huge boot for a two.  On several occasions during the match Aries teased a soccer like harsh kick to the head, he finally got it after Tyler used a backslide then hit his brainbuster 450 for the win.  Very strong opener, helped to build Tyler Black as a competitor and his best showing in ROH yet.

Afterwards Lacey cut a promo for Age of the Fall and said it's not that easy to put down a revolution and as the theme of the night CHALLENGED someone from the back. SHIMMER champion Sara Del Ray came out and the next match began.

4) Sara Del Ray d. Lacey at 15:11 in a non-title match using a german suplex with a bridge. Allison Wonderland spoke three times during this match including a "Shut up!" to the crowd which only seemed to motivate Lacey.  Both ladies, who wrestled in the SHIMMER title finals earlier this year, performed well but the match wasn't quite up to SHIMMER standards. It was slow moving at times and a step off.  Del Ray actually threw Lacey across the ring twice by her hair.  Later she used the Gori special submission while pulling Lacey's hair.  Lacey came back with an awesome ORTONESQUE~! chin lock.  They did some mat work, it was good, but the moves they used to break out of holds was good, including a mule kick by Lacey.  Lacey hit a back cracker in the corner on Del Ray and announced to those in attendance she was parched and asked for a drink of water (from a water bottle with tape on it that read XXX), when she got it Sara slapped her on the back and she sprayed the water all over the timekeeper the finely mustached Zach. The crowd chanted SHE CAN'T SWA-LLOW!  Back and forth, Del Ray hit some big boots and a yakuza kick on Lacey, she hit a back suplex and Lacey painfully landed on her shoulder.  Lacey later would hit a suplex into a guillotine (which is the official MMA hold of the Age of the Fall), Del Ray hit the ropes and came back to hit her Royal Butterfly (Standing butterfly lock into a butterfly suplex) but Allison pulled Del Ray out of the ring at two.  As Sara glared at Allison, Lacey came from behind with a school boy while holding the tights for the two.  Del Ray, then went behind and hit the German with a bridge for the pin.

5) Six-Man Mayhem: Dan Lawrence v. Trik Davis v. D.I.N.G.O. (said like the "B.I.N.G.O." song) v. Silas Young (who was billed "from 21 Jump Street") v. Seth Skyfire v. Danny Daniels. D.I.N.G.O. came out to Men at Work's "Down Under" and had a Sabu arm tattoo on his back (complete with Extreme armband tape and pointed finger). Dan Lawrence came out to Andrew WK's "Party Hard" and had a lot of Ultimate Warrior type fringe on his gear. Dan Lawrence not only was the MVP of this spot fest but also won "fringe of the night" for sure.  Most of the men working this match are regulars for Danny Daniels All American Wrestling out of Berwyn, IL.  Daniels, who has not worked in ROH since the "new Carnage Crew" angle a few years ago was quite over even getting a "Welcome back" chant. This was a great match which made up for the lack of excitement in the previous match.  D.I.N.G.O. has worked previous matches for ROH in the Midwest, came out to Men At Works "Down Under" and an Australian flag which caused two USA chants during the match.  He looks like a smaller Bryan Danielson.  Highlights during the match included Lawrence doing a Santo tope to the corner to Skyfire and D.I.N.G.O and then Daniels doing a flip dive off the top rope onto the three guys on the floor.  Trik Davis, who has improved greatly this year, attempted a dive to the outside only to land on Danny Daniels knee.  Silas Young motioned that he would join this dive fest, ran the ropes and just said "screw you!" which got a great heelish pop.  As Lawrence went up to the top rope, Young caught him and hit a superplex to the outside on the other four guys.  The action went back into the ring including Daniels hitting the rubix cube for a two count, Silas Young doing his impressive headstand Arabian press for two.  All guys were hitting their big moves when Dingo surprised everyone and hit Lawrence with a full nelson suplex into a bridge at 9:25 for the upset win. Bobby Cruise announced "The winner of the match, and lets say it together D.I.N.G.O!" Lots of high flying and great spots - this one was a lot of fun to watch and the crowd was really into it.

Afterwards Mark and Jay Briscoe came out afterwards to a huge ovation.  They were face to face in the ring with Daniels and Young.  They beat them down, hitting their double football tackle to clear the ring with the Briscoe chants reigning all over the Fronteer Park field house.  They got on the mic and told us that "raining, snowing, and hailing - nothing' stopping the Briscoes and how they were ready for ANYTHING!  This weather isn't going to stop us from kicking ass and somebody is gonna have to (pause and crowd sez)" Man up!

6) Claudio Castagnoli defeated Chris Hero in a best two out of three falls match. Chris Hero came down wearing some fine Chris Hero merchandise (which can be found on his myspace) and his survival of the fittest homemade t-shirt and CHRIS IS AWESOME Black towel (retail $15.00) sticking out of his pants. Tank Toland apparently didn't make it to the show and is the only person who is still missing, Sweeney is nowhere to be seen to begin, only Bobby Dempsey and Sara Del Ray is in Hero's corner. Dempsey was wearing his silver "baked potato" jumpsuit and a way too tight Chris Hero t-shirt. Hero was cutting a promo on Dempsey about it as Dempsey got a chant.  Bobby wasn't happy about this as he mimed for the crowd to stop.  Hero asked "you guys like Bobby Dempsey?"  The crowd cheers, Hero slapped Dempsey extremely hard.  Hero told us about how awesome he is (clap, clap, clap, clap, clap!) how he won the Survival of the Fittest tournament, and wanted an opponent.  Claudio came down, got on the mic and wanted a match with his former Kings Of Wrestling Partner, Hero bailed to the outside and couldn't get off his own "Survival of the Fittest" t-shirt off, and Claudio taunted him and said he was too fat to get it off himself. Crowd chanted "you fat (CENSORED)" at Hero.  Hero went to cup Dempsey's ears so he couldn't hear this. Hero wore the purple shirt and green tights for this match for the three of those who keep track of these things (Hi Dan~!).  Match started very slow, with Claudio early going to his giant swing and Hero grabbing the ropes.  Not a lot of wrestling early, as Hero stalled (you'll figure out why later) and told Bobby Cruise to announce something.  "Chris Hero would like you to know that when you taunt him it only makes him work harder."  More stall, Hero did his awesome dancing and calisthenics routine to get into the ring.   When he did his somersault into the ring, Claudio pointed up, Hero looked up and Claudio hit him with a SWEET European uppercut. Claudio then hit a 14 count vertical suplex. The story of the match was Claudio trying to wrestle Hero, but Hero would resort to repeated discus punches, and stomps on Claudios fingers and feet when he would attempt to get any momentum.  About 11 minutes into it, the towel was still in Hero's tights and he used it to choke Claudio.  The refed asked him what he as doing with the towel, Chris took the towel and said he was using it to clean the ropes.  He began to wipe the ropes ala towel boy.  As soon as Hero went to the outside for the 28th time, Claudio followed and they had a chop war, which was won by Hero using an eye gouge.  The fans started to get restless and someone yelled "You guys do something" only to have Hero quickly respond back "no!"  They eventually did something as Claudio hit a lovely backbreaker on Mr. Hero and a 8 count giant swing for a two.  Claudio hit two European uppercuts and attempted another one, but Hero got the arm and DDted it.  Hero worked on the arm by bringing it by the ring boast and bashing it into the ringpost.  Meanwhile there was a fan taunting Dempsey with a Snickers bar.  Hero was working on Claudio's arm, as Sara got a chocolate bar for Dempsey and fed it to Bobby.  Bobby originally didn't want it but Sara gave it to them.  Wow.  They might be star crossed sweet and sour lovers!  Hero was not NOT pleased with this lapse in Tank Tolland's diet and conditioning program and slapped Dempsey again.  Chris Hero as a overall character has come into his own this year after improving so much last year during the CZW war.  He has gone from Uber serious head of CZW to the character he has now which works so well with Larry Sweeney.  Meanwhile, while Claudio was on the outside Sara jumped up on the apron and distracted Sinclair by saying "did you see that guy over there with the Candy bar" as Hero got Dempsey to SIT ON CLAUDIO as Hero whipped Claudio's arm into the ROH guardrails.  Chris then slapped Bobby before throwing Claudio into the ring.  Claudio came back with his bicycle kick for two.  Hero came back with an awesome backslide while working on Claudio's injured arm for a very good near fall.  Some more discus punches, European uppercuts.  Hero went up to the top rope but was caught by Claudio who hit a beautiful step up hurracanrana and then his Alpamare Waterslide at 21:19 for the win, or at least we believed the end of the match.  Sweet & Sour Inc's Larry Sweeney arrived and announced he'd been in negotiations with Ring of Honor and they'd be going 2 out of 3 falls. He called Castagnoli "SWISS-O" and said he was "both dumb AND swiss." While Castagnoli was listening to this Hero came behind him used the Hero's Welcome to pin Castagnoli in six seconds and take the second fall.  In the third fall Hero worked on Claudio's injured arm and shoulder injured from the first fall, trying over and over again to take Claudio out, but Claudio won the third fall at 3:42 with a roll through and an armbar. Afterwards an enraged Hero beat down Claudio on his bad shoulder, hitting the hero's welcome while holding Claudio's bad hand and neck. Sweeney was livid and announced "I will have your job Sinclair" which gave him a HUGE face pop.  Hero mocked an injured Claudio and finally gave Bobby Dempsey his long awaited handshake, only to severely head butt him.  It was brutal.  They obviously had to strech out time as Sweeney didn't show up until 15 minutes into the match, but overall this match could have been more exciting and considering the two guys, a slight disappointment as you would expect a much better match from these two awesome workers.

7) The Hangman 3 (Adam Pearce & Shane Hagadorn) d. 'Sugarfoot' Alex Payne & Ernie Osirus at 1:54 with a spike piledriver on Osirus. All of the members of the Hangmen Three (I guess Hagadorn doesn't matter) came out right at the beginning of the match to interfere throughout. There were lots of "REPO MAN" chants during the match, but that's about it. Chicago was happy to get two matches of Sugarfoot goodness, but the hangmen jumped the two at the opening bell.  Pearce held Osirus and Hagadorn came off the top rope to nail him with the piledriver. This was a total squash or as Keith put it, "It was what it was." Afterwards Pearce bodyslammed Osirus over the top rope to the floor and yelled "That looked like it HURT!"  Albright challenged anyone to come out and face him

8) Brent Albright d. Jigsaw at 8:13 when Albright caught young Jigsaw off of a springboard move and hit a half nelson suplex in a very good and competitive match. Jigsaw was over considering it was only his second time in Chicago as a member of ROH.  The story of the match was Jigsaw using his speed to get away from Albright. Jiggy used a Japanese armbar which caused Albright to retreat to the outside, Jigsaw hit a beautiful dive onto H3.  Jigsaw got in way more offense than he would have just a few months ago when Albright was getting his big push. Albright used his size and strength to gorilla press Jigsaw to the floor and hit a suplex on the arena floor.  He then would hit Jigsaw's chest so hard with chops you could see Albrights hand prints on his chest a second afterwards.  Really, these chops cut his chest badly.  Albright attempted his half nelson german but Jigsaw counted it with a beautiful DDT but he only got 2. Jigsaw tuned up the band and hit a sweet superkick for a two.  Albright used a pumphandle into a Bossman type slam for another two.  Albright attempted a 619 like leg kick, but Jigsaw moved and Albrights leg spun round.  Jigsaw used an enzuigiri and then springboarded off the second rope but was caught by Albright who hit his half nelson suplex for the win.

BJ Whitmer got on the mic, with the short blonde hair the crowd chanted "KENNEDY."  As he did the waiting for the microphone pose which got a pop.   He noted tonight looking for a fight and people chanted "KENNEDY" at him. This brought out Delirious!

9) BJ Whitmer v. Delirious in a no-DQ match goes to a no contest at 15:08. Delirious hit a flip five to the outside on the Hangmen Three - must have been a prerequisite for being on the show tonight! A minute or two into the match either Delirious hit Albright with a chair or Albright hit Delriious with a chair.  BJ got on the mic and announced it was now no DQ, then hit Delirious with the mic. They brawled all over the place into the crowd quickly and at one point ATTACKED EACH OTHER WITH UMBRELLAS. Whitmer got good juice in this match after two Panic Attacks on the guardrail with a steel chair in front of Whitmer's face.  Delirious then used both the CLAW~! and his tribute to Nintendo Pro Wrestling's Amazon with the face bite.  Delirious used several lariats on BJ for another near fall.  BJ came back and hit a German, a full nelson rolling suplex and a powerbomb for two. Delirious eventually hit the Shadows Over Hell but Shane Hagadorn came back and pulled the referee out of the ring.  Adam Perace came down with a huge chain (like you would use for a DOG COLLAR MATCH~!), he wrapped it around his fist and got Delirious right in the head twice, then ripped off the top of his mask (no viewing of his lizard face) and asked the crowd WHAT ABOUT YOUR DELIRIOUS NOW!   This was an absolutely nuts scene, as Pearce bloodied up Delirious and wrapped the chain around his neck many many many times and then proceeded to throw Delirious over the top rope and hang him.  It was quite great angle and played off with the referees and the pre-show goofs who came out for the save getting beat down by the Hangman. Delirious bladed BIG TIME as he had to be carried out as it appeared the chain was WAY too tight.  It looked totally realistic and awesome.  The hangmen beat the CENSORED out of everyone, including Albright gave Mitch Franklin a gorilla press into second row and really put over the hangman over as a unit of asskickers.  Ok match, but fantastic post match angle.

As the hangman left the ring, a short haired Jimmy Jacobs jumped out of the crowd with his black cane with a silver top handle (foreshadowing) and Allison Wonderland and got into the ring.  He got on the mike and said his revolution is not slowing down just because of Tyler and Lacey losing tonight.  He then proceeded to mack on the hot unnamed chick and ask he was about to make out, Daizee Haze came out to fight.  Daizee started beating on the unnamed chick, but Jimmy ended up spearing her. Sadly her shoes stayed on.  He cuts a promo saying "I just destroyed this pretty little thing, now I want to destroy the best in the world." This brought out Bryan Danielson.

10) Jimmy Jacobs d. Bryan Danielson at 22:32 with his END GAME (guillotine DDT) off the top rope when Danielson passed out. HOLY CENSORED - incredible match and match of the night.  Jacobs attacked Danielson before the bell as Danielson was on the top rope to sing along with the FINAL COUNTDOWN, Jimmy attacked in a sea of streamers.  Danielson used a kick on Jimmy and he retreated to the outside as the crowd chanted "your gonna get your (CENSORED) head kicked in."  Danielson dominated early on, with Jacobs being stretched and working on the mat with Danielson.  Surfboard on Jimmy, he went to the outside and took off his neck brace, when he came back in Danielson took it up a step.  Danielson hit several elbow smashes, and his flying headbut half way across the ring.  Jimmy came back and hit a swanton for a two.  Around the ten minute mark, Danielson then came back and used the cattle mutilation, this brought Lacey, still wearing her slutty hot ring gear.  Danielson let go, and was eyeing down Lacey, meanwhile Jimmy from behind got the cane from Allison.  He attempted to use it, not for some lovely soft shoe, but to hit Danielson with it.  Danielson caught the attempted cane shot and got the black cane from Jimmy.  However, Jimmy still had the top part of the cane which has a spike cemented in it and used it on Danielson's head. He bladed, it ruled.  Jimmy then hit punches and put Danielson in the tee of woe, and hit a baseball slide dropkick.  Jimmy then slapped Danielson's bloody face and possibly tasted his blood.  He then took a bloody Danielson to the outside, set up a steel folding chair and sat Danielson on it and hit a pancha to the outside crushing the chair and Danielson.  Jacobs brought him back into the ring and used boots and elbows for two.  Danielson came back with a superplex.  It was getting awesome, as Danielson was bleeding heavily.  Jimmy attempts to repeatedly punch Danielson, with Danielson blocking them with his elbows . Now this gets awesome. Danielson is heavily bleeding now.  Danielson hits some nice kicks including a jumping spin kick to the face, and a dive to the outside.  They go back and forth, Jacobs uses his guillotine but Danielson suplexes his way out of it, Danielson gets speared while on the second rope.  So fricking great.  Danielson hit a tiger suplex, and attempted the cattle mutilation, then into the MMA style back elbows, and then in a huge move, Jimmy hit his Contra Code and immediately goes for the pin but Danielson kicks out at the last second.  The crowd was alive for this as no one could believe that Jimmy Jacobs could defeat Bryan Danielson.  Jacobs goes up top for his cannonball senton, but Danielson got his knees up as Jacobs came crashing down.  Danielson hit a triangle, but Jimmy won't tap.  Danielson then does the Travis Lutter special and hits elbows to Jimmy's head while he's trapped in the triangle.  Jimmy finally reaches the ropes; which causes the hold to break, Danielson gets on the top rope, Jimmy catches him with the END GAME.  They are on the mat with Danielson standing up as Jacobs has the standing guillotine on.  Danielson is rolling around trying to break it, he gets up again and falls down, moving less until Todd Sinclair drops the hand to give Jacobs the huge upset and elevates Jimmy and his submission move.   This match is worth seeking out as the crowd was positive that Jimmy had no chance, but with the near falls, people believed that he still didn't have a chance.  This delivered big time, the crowd booed and was just shocked by the result.

Nigel McGuinness came out afterwards and mocked Danielson, "Can you believe this?  This is what you call irony!  This has to be the worst moment in your career.  Losing to Jimmy Jacobs.  Whos next?  Bobby Dempsey?" This brought out Chris Hero and Larry Sweeney (obviously to defend Bobby's honor) who gave Nigel the Hero's Welcome. Sweeney said that when it comes to "superiorocity TM Larry Sweeney" Hero was the best man here. They grabbed the belt and threw it back down onto Nigel.  In the meantime FIP champion Roderick Strong came out wearing a sleeveless Nigel McGuinness t-shirt.  Roderick noted he was a "big supporter" of Nigel and "I have your shirt"  As Nigel was getting up, Roderick said he wanted a match with Nigel on 1/26 (Chicago return date) so he could become "ROH world title champion." The crowd mocked Roderick for this mistake.  Eventually McGuinness and Danielson brawled to the back as Erick Stevens ran into the ring to beat on Roderick.  Rocky and Davey of the NRC joined in with Roderick on beating on Stevens which brought in the Briscoe's for the main event.

11) Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe & Erick Stevens vs. No Remorse Corps (Roderick Strong, Rocky Romero & Davey Richards)- The match started off slow but picked up a lot near the end as everybody got to hit their finishing moves.   The first move in this match though was a titty twister on Roderick by Mark Briscoe.  Early in Jay hit a huge dive to the outside to the NRC.  The story of the match was everyone wanted to strike one another and the NRC beating down on Stevens (as they in storyline hurt his arm some months ago).  He would get beat down by NRC, would make a comeback, and get beat down again.  The stuff with Stevens and Romero was quite dandy, especially with Stevens mocking Romero's hellish Azucar dance.  Romero then kicked Stevens in the leg, extremely hard.  It ruled and made the match very entertaining.  During the match there were a number of chop and slap fests with Stevens taking many harsh shots.  In one sequence, they tied up Stevens in the tree of woe, Romero went to the opposite corner and ran into Strong who catapulted him up to hit a dropkick. Rocky dropkicked him into the nuts of Mr. Stevens.  Poor guy. Later with Davey Richards in Stevens threw Davey straight up and gives him a lariat on his way down.  Hot tag to the Briscoes, and a double superkick on Davey, Stevens hit his version of the Godfather's Ho Train on Roderick "the Cho Cho."  Then Stevens & Strong had a minute long strike war. Strong got intense and got Stevens into the corner with his horrible chops and strikes that elicited a "holy CENSORED" chant from the crowd.  Strong hit one of his backbreakers for a two, the Briscoes ran in and Mark hit an SSP off the top rope onto the floor and all members of the NRC.  The Briscoe's did a double Beil throw on Rocky who was caught by Stevens and powerbombed for two in a nice spot.  They all hit their big moves, including Davey hitting a huge piledriver and then when Davey went up top, Mark ran up and caught him with a t-bone supex off the top rope and then the cutthroat driver at 24:00 for the win as Jay and Erick hit big moves on other members of the NRC (J-Drilla and powerbomb respectively).  Afterwards, there were Briscoe chants, but the Briscoe's pointed and started an "Erick" chant.  Good match, not amazing but solid.

One of the major reasons this show was called Unscripted 3 was because there was a car wreck in Indianapolis. Necro Butcher, Human Tornado, Ruckus and Jack Evens were involved. They were driving on I-65 from Dayton to Chicago in the Necro Butcher's nice sized truck.  Necro was driving, Ruckus was riding shotgun and controlling the radio, and Tornado and Jack were in the backseat. They hit a patch of ice and were slipping and sliding and the car in front of them rammed into the back of Necro's truck.  Necro's truck suffered a broken axel but the other car was in far worse shape (totaled).  Jack Evans suffered a concussion, and someone from ROH had to drive back to Indiana and pick the boys up.  They arrived in Chicago after midnight.
