NWA/SCW CONTROVERSEY EXCLUSIVE!
Hello folks and Happy to Easter to those of you celebrating on this day.  The last couple weeks I have been missing in action because I've chosen to focus my energies on a specific story here in SCW....that story is the National Wrestling Alliance.  Let me preface this article by informing you that this topic is extremely sensitive to several of the parties involved.  I would even go as far to say that some of the news I am about to reveal may ruffle some feathers both within SCW as well as the NWA.  However, I feel that its important for the fans of Southern Championship Wrestling to understand exactly what is going on and why it is happening.  Naturally, I am unable to reveal my sources but trust me when I say this information is as accurate as it gets.
With that said, here is a breakdown of why Thomas Marr will defend his NWA North American Heavyweight Championship against Chasyn Rance and Dru Onyx.  During the time frame in which Thomas Marr wrestled in SCW under the alias of Marcus Money-a member of the Green Light District, he was the reigning NWA North American Champion...a title he has held since October.  However for reasons agreed upon between himself and SCW management, his title reign from another company would not be acknowledged and in an effort to "repackage" himself, he even went as far as changing his name to Marcus Money.  Enter Marr's personal advisor Lee Douglas.  Douglas who has served in this role dating back to Marr's earliest days in he business concocted a plan in which Marr would shed the green and revert to his NWA roots.  As a result, under the nose of SCW management last January, Douglas brought Marr's NWA Title into the ring.  Some might say this was done because Marr was frustrated with the tag team scene but the more popular belief is that Douglas fed his ego so much that Marr believed he was too good to be a tag team wrestler.
Here is where it begins to get complicated... SCW Owner Chris Carson who initially had no idea Marr would be using his NWA notoriety in his company eventually agreed to let him "run with the ball at his own discretion."  Now anyone familiar with the NWA knows its championship committee/board of directors keeps a close eye on all its talents.  Needless to say, word got back to them that Thomas Marr was now using his NWA fame inside the proverbial arena of another wrestling organization.  In fact, Marr apparently had plans to lead an invasion of sorts into SCW involving past/current NWA competitors.  This in turn caused a virtual uproar amongst NWA officials.  Fast forward to Spring Breakout where Marr was initially slated to face Chasyn Rance.  Upset with Marr's exploitation of their championship,  The NWA offices contacted the SCW offices insisting that "one of their own" competitors be placed in the matchup as well.  After multiple meetings, it was decided that NWA competitor Dru Onyx would be sent to SCW.  And folks, I think its obvious (although no one from the NWA will admit it) that Onyx has been sent in hopes that he will win the title back.
So now we're left with multiple questions...where does this leave Thomas Marr and the NWA?  What if Chasyn Rance wins the title?  What does the NWA do?  We're just six days away from these questions and more being answered and I for one can't wait to see how it turns out.  In the meantime, check out the comments from the parties involved in Saturday's title match...

Chasyn Rance
"The past couple of matches in SCW have not been the most memorable, and I've become pretty disappointed in myself.  I'm sure the fans have been as well.  Wrestling for both major singles titles in SCW has been great but unfortunately, I have yet to walk away with either title.  Now, I get the chance to wrestle for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship and like they say, "Third time's the charm."  April 22, Spring Breakout, that's my show!  That's where I won both of my Cruiserweight Championships back in 2002 and 2003.  2006 will be no different.  Come the 22nd, the losing trend comes to an end.  Chasyn Rance didn't come to dance, he came to fight and make everyone's night.  When the gold's on the line, that's when I shine.  For all my fans, you don't need to feel ashamed anymore, cause that night, the champ will be my whore.  Chasyn Rance will be your new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion!"

Dru Onyx
"The NWA sent me to challenge for the North American title for a number of reasons.  First and foremost if I should be able to win the title, the Alliance knows that I am a capable torchbearer for the company. I am fully aware that I represent the NWA both in and out of the square circle at all times.   Also my track record speaks for itself I'm a former 2 time NWA Quebec Heavyweight Champion, 1 time United Kingdom Heavyweight Champion and a 2 time British Commonwealth Champion.  I made sure I defended those titles within their respected territories with pride and professionalism.   I am familiar with my opponents...met Rance two years ago in Winnipeg and what burned in my memory was how professional he acted and the quiet confidence he radiated. When I found out it was a three way dance I asked the SCW office for video tape of his matches, Same with Marr.  I also watched his match winning the NWA North American title from J.T. Wolfen, I studied both of them and I feel there will be no home field advantage, in fact I'll be in Florida a few days early just to make sure I won't suffer from jet lag.   My goal is to be the next in line to hold the same title that Jeff Jarret, Barry Windham,Greg Valentine and Kevin Von Erich once held."

Lee Douglas, Representing Thomas Marr
"Well, at least we have an NWA wrestler with some credibility. Dru Onyx is one
tough SOB.  He is well known through NWA circles. Thomas Marr is just as tough
and twice as smart. The NWA at least took things into their own hands demanding that he defend against an NWA wrestler.   But understand, my man is not an underdog.  Sure, two men are gunning for the champion but either way we will win."

NOTE: Thomas Marr and Dru Onyx will be live this Wednesday night on the Wrestle Wrap Radio.  Broadcast starts at 8pm. Visit www.wrestlingwrap.com for more information!

Title Limbo?
By: Vinne Langston
Scott Davis was scheduled to face Victor Creed at Spring Breakout to defend the Southern Heavyweight Championship.  But its not known if the match is still going to happen.  Creed is currently mourning the unfortunate loss of his mother and I don't think anyone would look down on him if he were to opt out of the match...after all, this kind of news would be devastating to anyone.  But if that were to be the case, it is not known who Scott Davis would defend his championship against.  The only one who knows whether or not Victor Creed will be there is Victor Creed.  Well if you are reading this Victor, just know that we support your decision either way!  Davis could not be reached for comment as of press time.

SEAN DAVIS BREAKS THE SILENCE OF THE HEARTBREAK XPRESS!
(Since losing the Tag Team Championships, the Heartbreak Xpress has chosen to give SCW the silent treatment....until now!  Sean Davis comments on the title loss and his upcoming match with wrestling legend--Kamala.)

On Losing The Titles
"Other than the dislocated jaw that I got courtesy of that lunatic George "The Animal" Steele we are doing just fine. Hey, one loss in 16 months is still the best damn record of any tag team in Florida and bottom line is they had to bring in a WWE Hall of Fame Member to get the job done. It's only a matter of time before we have the SCW titles back with the Heartbreak Express."

On Faulty Match Strategy
"Nothing technically went wrong with the match, we just got screwed by Chris Carson in a way not even we could predict. Don't worry...we have plenty of ideas in how to get back at that queer."

Post-Match Meeting Title Loss (w/Phil Davis and Gorgeous Gary)
"We went out and did what we do best and that's party and make love to lots of beautiful women. Bottom line when you're a member of The Heartbreak Express win, lose or draw the party goes on!!!"

What Fans Should realize after their 17-Month Reign
"They should realize that they were treated to be able to see the greatest tag team
in all of wrestling right there in their pathetic little towns that SCW runs in for so long. Everyone must understand that we are the most in demand tag team in the entire South right now and any time you get to see us in person you better take advantage of what will truly be a special moment in your life."

Final Thoughts
"Chris Carson thinks he got the best of us but he is very, very wrong. He had us signed to one more contract after losing the SCW tag team titles and of course instead of allowing us the chance to win the belts back he has decided to try to royally screw with us once again by making Phil find another partner against the new "so called" champs and by making me take on yet another former WWE Legend Kamala. Chris Carson has proven once again that he doesn't care about promoting the best wrestling that he can. He wants to be the PT Barnum of pro wrestling and promote some sort of cheap circus act which is why guys like George Steele and Kamala now have a new home in SCW. Trust me when I say that I am not afraid of Kamala and once I have beaten his old a$$ in the middle of the ring I'm gonna drag that little queer Chris Carson in there and give him the beating that he has been begging for."
