Over the past several days, SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES has added Allison Danger, Kellie Skater, and Mercedes Martinez (9/12 only) to the announced list of wrestlers who will be a part of our Volumes 33-36 DVD tapings on September 11th & 12th at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL.
Allison Danger finished an over two year long rivalry with Portia Perez with a bloody Last Woman Standing bout earlier this year. She then battled the Ninjas' hired guns in the form of Melanie Cruise and Annie Social. With these issues behind her, what will be on Allison's agenda in September?
Claiming to be virtually indestructible and made of pure Adamantium, "The Rate Tank" Kellie Skater seems to have no fear of stepping in the ring against any opponent, regardless of their size or reputation. Though fearlessness can sometimes be viewed as a positive attribute, it has also resulted in Skater being on the receiving end of some brutal punishment from top level stars thus far in her SHIMMER tenure. That is not to say that The Rate Tank hasn't also had her fair share of victories. Kellie recently came out the winner of the PWWA "Last Woman Standing" tournament in Australia, and hopes to ride that wave of momentum into SHIMMER action come September.
One of the eighteen SHIMMER originals, Mercedes Martinez has always been in the main event picture since the company's inception. Her series of matches against Sara Del Rey were a large part of SHIMMER's foundation. As the years have passed, Martinez has fought through injuries and worked her way into SHIMMER Championship opportunites. After an incredible bout against Ayako Hamada on Volume 27, Mercedes regained a strong focus, and proceeded to rack up a five match winning streak. With a new SHIMMER Champion in the form of Madison Eagles, a woman who Martinez has defeated in the past, "The Latina Sensation" has excellent momentum as she tries to work her way to another shot at the title.
Already announced for participation in the tapings are: SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles, SHIMMER Tag Team Champions "The Canadian Ninjas" Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews, Cheerleader Melissa, Sara Del Rey, MsChif, Ayumi Kurihara, Daizee Haze, Nikki Roxx, Daffney, Jessie McKay, Tomoka Nakagawa, Amazing Kong (9/12 only), Misaki Ohata, Mercedes Martinez (9/12 only), Kellie Skater, and Allison Danger. Over 20 of the top female wrestlers from around the world will be a part of the action.
