MISAKI OHATA ADDED TO SEPTEMBER TAPINGS!

SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES is proud to add Misaki Ohata to the announced list of wrestlers who will be a part of our Volumes 33-36 DVD tapings on September 11th & 12th at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL. Everyone at SHIMMER is excited to continue our working agreement with Japan's S-Ovation Co., Ltd. in September.
Misaki Ohata had her work cut out for her during her first series of matches in SHIMMER competition earlier this year, battling SHIMMER originals Daizee Haze, Cheerleader Melissa, and Sara Del Rey in singles bouts. Misaki made a fantastic impression on the Berwyn crowd as the first of the visiting joshi stars to enter the ring on Volume 29, pulling out a huge victory against Daizee Haze, and in the process igniting a new killa fire in The Haze. Ohata returns to the States in September looking to turn more heads and rack up more victories with her submission skills, taking on the top talents our part of the globe has to offer once again!
Misaki joins previously announced talents SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles, SHIMMER Tag Team Champions "The Canadian Ninjas" Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews, Cheerleader Melissa, Sara Del Rey, MsChif, Daizee Haze, Ayumi Kurihara, Nikki Roxx, Daffney, Jessie McKay, Tomoka Nakagawa, and Amazing Kong (9/12 only) as those confirmed thus far for participation in the September tapings.
Just one front row seat remains available for BOTH 9/11 & 9/12. E-mail shimmernews@yahoo.com right away if you are interested in it. The tickets will go to the first person to make payment on them.
General admission seating is still available for both days of tapings. Cost is only $20 per day, which covers the filming of two full length SHIMMER DVD releases each day.

JAMILIA CRAFT MAKES TV DEBUT TONIGHT ON HDNET!

SHIMMER Wrestling Academy graduate "Jumpin" Jamilia Craft will make her national television debut later tonight (Monday, July 5th) as she faces her trainer Daizee Haze on this evening's broadcast of Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet.
Also in action on tonight's episode, "The American Wolves" of Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards battle the team of "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels & Roderick Strong in tag team action.

DIVA DIRT ANNOUNCES WEB SITE EXPANSION

Our friends at http://www.diva-dirt.com/ issued the following press release earlier today announcing the expansion of their web site. SHIMMER will be working closely with Diva Dirt's staff to provide timely, original content as part of the expansion of the services offered by their web site during the coming months. Keep your eyes peeled to Diva Dirt for all of the forthcoming changes!
We are extremely excited to announce today that we have reached a deal with Jason Deadrich, founder of the world’s largest professional wrestling video on demand site, ClickWrestle.com, to expand Diva Dirt in the coming months — and we want your help!
Since Erin and I launched this site as a news blog two and a half years ago, it has gone from strength to strength. So many of you have taken this journey with us and enjoyed all of our successes. We’ve been blessed to forge some great contacts, conducted some fantastic interviews and have even raised money for charity. But as we look to the future, we quickly realised that we have frankly grown out of being a ‘blog’. We created the moniker ‘The Women’s Wrestling Bible’ but with Jason’s investment and expertise, Diva Dirt really will be the women’s wrestling bible as we step it up a gear and move up to the next level.
As well as creating ClickWrestle, Jason is also the founder of ChickFight, the home promotion of Cheerleader Melissa and founder of the newly-established Female Fight League. Needless to say, he is a big advocate of women’s wrestling and has been an integral part of our growth since partnering with us one year ago.
“Working with Melanie and Erin at Diva Dirt over the past year has been a real pleasure and I am excited about taking the next steps to make Diva Dirt a must-visit, destination site for all fans of female professional wrestling,” said Jason.
So what does all of this mean for you? Well, in a couple of months time, we will be relaunching Diva Dirt [Diva Dirt 2.0 if you will] with a brand new, professional look and feel and stacks of new content. We are moving away from being a ‘news blog’ and becoming a content provider in our own right. As well as the news, editorial and audio you currently see, Diva Dirt will feature exclusive photo galleries, video footage of women’s wrestling from around the world and much more.
Additionally, we will be launching a premium section that will bring readers closer access to the stars for a flat-rate monthly fee. We understand that the prospect of a premium section may sound daunting but rest assured, Diva Dirt has taken great consideration into getting this right and providing first-run, exclusive content featuring some of your favourite female wrestlers. Our goal is to provide wrestling’s best female talent with new avenues of income to complement traditional means i.e. bookings, in liason with the Female Fight League.
“When we announced the formation of the Female Fight League, we stressed that this would not just be another wrestling promotion. The FFL represents an organization of female wrestling promoters, wrestlers and fans. Teaming up with Diva Dirt is a perfect fit for the FFL and we look forward to furthering female professional wrestling and providing support for promotions and wrestlers around the world,” said Jason.
And now, this is where you come in! We want to hear what or who you’d like to see as part of the new Diva Dirt. Got a suggestion on content? Promotions you’d like to see us work with? Congratulations to SHIMMER's "Rate Tank" Kellie Skater for coming out the winner of the PWWA's "Last Woman Standing" tournament this past weekend in Liverpool, NSW, Australia. Word is there is a strong chance the PWWA will have copies of the tournament available on DVD at the September SHIMMER live events in Berwyn!

SHIMMER Women Athletes returns to live action at the Berwyn Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL on Saturday & Sunday, September 11th & 12th, 2010. Volumes 33-36 of the SHIMMER DVD series will be filmed over the course of the weekend. Bell time on Saturday, September 11th is 2pm. Bell time on Sunday, September 12th is 1pm.
