'Numb3rs' and 'Ghost Whisperer' posted the night's highest ratings

 Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 11, 2008.

CBS and NBC both presented all new programming on Friday night, but only CBS could claim ratings victory.

Overall, CBS averaged a 5.9 rating/10 share, while NBC was second with a 4.4/8. FOX had a better-than-normal 3.6/6 for third, leaving ABC's 3.5/6 in fourth. The CW was fifth with a 2.9/5.

CBS also won among adults 18-49, doing a 2.5 rating in the key demographic. NBC's 2.0 was second with FOX's 1.7 and The CW's 1.6 close behind. ABC trailed for the night with a 1.5 rating.

"Ghost Whisperer" kicked off CBS' primetime sweep with a 6.2/11 and the night's highest demo ratings. NBC was second with a 4.9/9 for "1 vs. 100. ABC was third with a repeat of "Grey's Anatomy," while FOX's repeat of "Bones" was close behind. Fifth place went to The CW's "WWE Friday Night Smackdown!" with a 2.8/5.

At 9 p.m., CBS' "Moonlight" dropped from its lead-in, but still had no trouble winning its hour with a 5.2/9. FOX got a boost from a 4.1/7 repeat of "House," taking second. NBC was third with the 3.7/6 for "Friday Night Lights," while ABC's "Cashmere Mafia" repeat had a 3.0/5 for fourth. The CW's wrestling stayed steady.

CBS saw "Numb3rs" bounce back up to a 6.2/11 to win the 10 p.m. hour. NBC's "Las Vegas" had a 4.6/8 to hold off the 4.3/8 for ABC's "20/20."
