Jimmy review’s Smackdown for 7/14!

We get a warning that's up so fast I didn't even have time to read it.

Smackdown opening, with the Meanie going over JBL highlights.

We're taped from Worcester, Massachusetts, with our hosts Michael Cole and Taz(maniac)z.

We're first joined by Eddie, doing his best Razor Ramon ring entrance, chico. Eddie tells us Rey isn't here tonight, and that pisses him off, so he tells us he's going to reveal the secret. Eddie sits down and tells us the story, and Eddie's wife Vicky suddenly comes down, bringing their 2 daughters with her. She tells Eddie to calm down, but Eddie grabs her and brings them to the back.

Backstage Eddie tells them to get out of here. Hardcore Holly comes in to defend Eddie's family honor or something, and gets shoved for his troubles.

Mexicools vs. Paul London, Funaki, and Scotty 2 Hotty
Scotty and Psicosis start, and Crazy gets superkicked for interfering, but Juvi rams Scotty into the post to take over. He comes in and works over the arm of Scotty. Juvi and Crazy get a nice double seated dropkick on Scotty. Scotty fights back after a while, getting a flying elbow on Juvi while Funaki and Super Crazy fight on the outside. Scotty makes the hot tag to London, and he cleans house. He and Juvi go at it, and London gets a belly to belly suplex and goes up to the top rope, but Crazy gets a moonsault on him and Juvi goes up and hits the 450 (driving his knees right into Paul's face) for the pin, I guess to set up a match at the Great American Bash. Good match. **1/2

Backstage, Christian hits on Candice, but Booker T verbally disses him.

Backstage, Josh Matthews interviews Batista. Batista accuses JBL of being a bully.

Backstage, Melina tells MNM she has some business to deal with, and she runs into Torrie and challanges her to a bra and panties match at the Great American Bash.

Hulk Hogan tells me to buy the XWF DVD's.

Heidenreich comes out, but gets ambushed by MNM. Who saves? Road Warrior Animal. He cleans house. MNM challange him to a tag match at GAB. Mercury tells him to bring his partner, but Nitro reminds us Hawk is dead, and laughs about it. Cold. Anyway Heidenreich steps up and offers to be his partner, and Animal accepts. Cool.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Hardcore Holly
Nothing of note here, we go to commercial with Eddie in control. Holly fights out of a leg-sleeper. Holly fights back, and gets his dropkick and his rope lowblow. Eddie blinds the ref for a while, and hits Hardcore in the knee, with a steel lead pipe. He locks in the Lasso from El Paso, which gets the submission win. Bleh match. *1/2

Eddie gets on the mic afterwards, apologizes to his wife, and challanges Rey at the Great American Bash to a match

Muhammad Hassan's lawyer comes out and reads a message from Muhammad, telling us that Muhammad is on a leave of absense. Taker of course interrupts, and chokeslams and tombstones the guy.

Booker T vs. Christian
Christian attacks while Booker T makes him entrance. Christian dominates Booker, and Christian gets the Unprettier in short while. Match was a DUD, though.

The Boogeyman is coming. Oh boy.

We run down the Great American Bash card.

Orlando Jordan w/ JBL vs. Batista
JBL cuts a promo before the match, bashing Batista, and we go to commercial. Batista dominates to start, getting a shoulder block and clotheslines Orlando out. JBL trips Batista, and runs him into the steel steps. Orlando takes over, and JBL keeps interfering by hitting on Batista knee. Orlando goes to the leglock, but Batista battles back. BAAAAAACK BOOODDY DROOOOP! Batista hits the powerslam, and the ref gets knocked down. Batista gets the spinebuster, but the powerbomb is blocked by a JBL chair shot. It gets two for Orlando. Batista gets the Powerbomb for the pin. JBL clotheslines Batista afterwards, and poses with the title. *1/4

Jimmy's Thoughts: Good SmackDown. Solid wrestling mixed in with entertaining angles. Good week for WWE TV.
