SMACKDOWN SPOILERS FROM ST. LOUIS, MO

……

The dark match was Brian Kendrick & Paul London vs.
Idol Stevens & K.C. James(w/o Michelle McCool because
she had stuff to do on Smackdown). London pinned James
after the dropsault(which I guess is the highest-risk
move he's still allowed to do) in a decent match.

The Smackdown show started with Batista coming out and wanting to call out Fit Finlay. However, he got Paul
Heyman(w/ riot cops), who offered him a spot in ECW.
Batista gave him the thumbs-down and beat up the riot
cops, but was attacked by Big Show and then King
Booker. John Cena made the save to set up the main
event.

Bobby Lashley & Tatanka vs. S. William Regal & Dave
Taylor: Pier-six finish saw Regal get a Flair Pin on
Tatanka while Taylor tied up Lashley. Tatanka finally
snapped and decked the ref, then laid out Lashley when
he tried to intervene. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a
heel turn.

A backstage bit saw Chris Benoit attempt to talk to
Vickie Guerrero. Later in the show, Chavo and Vickie
came out to gloat over the win in the I Quit Match.
Chavo ordered the chairshots and "I Quit" to be
replayed over and over until Benoit finally came out,
but Chavo and Vickie just walked away.

Matt Hardy vs. Gregory Helms: Another good match
between these two, but they've fought so much lately
that I wish they've move them to something else. Hardy
hit a Samoan Drop, but Helms crucifixed him out of the
cover and held the ropes for the win.

Kane vs. MVP in a no-DQ match was announced, but MVP
claimed he was "sick" and that his contract let him
have "sick days" if he needed them. Har har. Ken
Kennedy marched in to challenge Undertaker, but lo and
behold, Taker wasn't there tonight, so Long
conveniently made it Kane vs. Kennedy no-DQ. Kane had
it won but MVP ran out(showing no ill effects of his
earlier ailment) and broke up a chokeslam attempt with
a chairshot to the leg. Kennedy fell on top and MVP
jumped on top for a dogpile-style pin.

Long announced Taker & Kane vs. Kennedy & MVP(yay) for next week(boo).

Diva Trick-Or-Treat Battle Royal: This had Kristal,
Jillian Hall, Layla, Michelle McCool, and Ashley in
Halloween costumes. Miz was the special ref so one
guess how it ended. Jillian, Michelle, and Ashley were
eliminated in short order. Layla nearly eliminated
Kristal, but Miz pulled Layla to the floor to cost her
the match.

Miz and Kristal took a little too much time
celebrating and gloating after the fact...and THE
BOOGEYMAN made his return. Miz left Kristal for dead
and she got wormed.

Cena & Batista vs. Booker & Show(w/ Sharmell):
Extended matchup saw Cena take a beating for most of
it. However, Dissension In The Ranks(tm) reared its
ugly head as Show walked out on Booker(because of the
Bookend on Raw). Hot tag Batista who ran through his
offense on Booker. Spinebuster, Cena came in for the
Five-Knuckle Shuffle, then Batista finished Booker
with the Demon Bomb.

ECW: Heyman acknowledged that RVD was #1 contender,
but he had to earn it again in a ladder match with
Show. A riot cop beatdown attempt didn't work as RVD
fought them off.

Punk d. Striker by DQ after a run-in by Mike Knox.

Test d. Holly via rollup w/ tights in a match that
lasted about seventeen hours or so and probably would
have had JR talking about bowling shoes if he had been
calling it.  Live crowd despised it. Test chaired
Holly repeatedly after the match.

RVD d. Show in the ladder match. Good stuff in this
one; scary spot at the end where RVD did a rana to
take Show out of the ring and landed hard on the floor
himself, but he still had the presence of mind to get
back in and climb the ladder for the contract.

Thanks to Patrick Brandmeyer for these results.....
