NEWS and NOTES
Peach State Pandemonium will feature Jerry Lawler tonight. Also joining us will be Bobby Simmons, who will take us for a ride in the Wayback Machine. PSP broadcasts live beginning at 9:00 PM ET.
World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the following events: December 7, WWE SmackDown/ECW in North Charleston, SC, at the North Charleston Coliseum; December 19, WWE SmackDown/ECW in Dothan, AL, at the Dothan Civic Center; and December 26, WWE RAW in Hershey, PA, at the Giant Center.
Also, WrestleMania XXV takes place on April 5 in Houston, TX, at the Reliant Stadium. Ticket prices have been announced, ranging from $40 to $755.
WWE has also announced dates for a tour of Australia and New Zealand next summer: July 3 in Auckland; July 4 in Sydney; July 5 in Brisbane; July 6 in Adelaide; July 7 in Melbourne; and July 8 in Perth. More details as we get them.

Roger Ebert gave a rave review in his column today on the Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei, and Evan Rachel Wood, and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Ebert suggested Rourke’s performance could be worthy of an Oscar nomination. Ebert, who is at the Toronto International Film Festival, even speaks well of wrestling itself. "I know -- pro wrestling is scripted", he writes, "but the scripted stuff they do is brutal. Say you get thrown over the ropes and land on the floor. It's in the script, but how would that feel?" Results of the September 6 Total Championship Wrestling show at the National Guard Armory in Douglasville, GA: Jess over Keith Williams, Payne over Mike Black, Murder One beat Feral, Cody Gunn beat Mr. Wrestling, The battle royal had a unique finish: Ref Jeff McGowan won when the final wrestler in the ring, Mike Black jumped over the top rope before McGowan could signal for the bell and declare Black the winner.
