World Wrestling Entertainment results from Springfield, IL, on August 1: Kofi Kingston over Paul Burchill; Snitsky over Jim Duggan; Lance Cade over Paul London; Mickie James over Beth Phoenix; D-Lo Brown over Santino Marella; Batista over Kane; John Cena over Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Jr., in a handicap match; and CM Punk over Chris Jericho in a no disqualification match.

The RAW crew will be at the Robert Municipal Auditorium in Evansville, IN. The SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Freedom Hall in Johnson City, TN, tonight.

Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcasts tonight at 9:00 PM ET on NBC, with the following: John Cena, Batista & Cryme Tyme versus Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jr., Kane & JBL; and Jeff Hardy versus Edge. Jenny McCarthy also appears, as her Generation Rescue teams with WWE against autism.

Total Nonstop Action will be at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, TX, tonight.

Ring of Honor results from Manassas, VA, on August 1: Mark & Jay Briscoe over Adam Pearce & Shane Hagadorn; Pelle Primeau over Rex Sterling; Delirious over Rhett Titus; Roderick Strong over Necro Butcher; Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries versus the Motor City Machine Guns went to a twenty-minute draw; Brent Albright over Chris Hero; Nigel McGuinness over Ruckus to retain the ROH World Heavyweight Title; and Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black over Naomichi Marufuji & Go Shiozaki to retain the ROH World Tag Team Title.

ROH will be at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, NY, tonight. Advertised: Nigel McGuinness defends the ROH World Heavyweight Title in a four-man elimination match against Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black, and Claudio Castagnoli; Adam Pearce defends the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Brent Albright; Kevin Steen & El Generico versus the Motor City Machine Guns; a three-way featuring Jimmy Jacobs, Austin Aries, and Necro Butcher; Naomichi Marufuji versus Go Shiozaki; Eddie Edwards versus Roderick Strong; Chris Hero versus Delirious; and Jigsaw & Ruckus versus Mark & Jay Briscoe. In the aftermath of Hostile Environment, NWA Anarchy returns to the NWA in Cornelia, GA, tonight with an international television taping advertising a double main event: Chad Parham & Seth Delay vs. Jerry Palmer & Sal Rinauro - loser of the fall has their head shaved bald and an NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title Match: Iceberg (c) vs. Ace Rockwell. The NWA Elite (Shatter & Kimo with Jeff G. Bailey) will be in action. For the SCW Florida championship, Nooie Lee defends against Austin Amadeus. Aaron Epic takes on half of the SCW tag team champions, Jason Hexx. In a career threatening match, The Prodigy vs. Tribal, w/John Isaacs. Slick Sleazy vs. Victor Creed. In a ladies match, Leva vs. Betsy Ruth. Lord Neil Faith, w/Sheik Muhammad Akbar, vs. Brett Bonaduce. The Evil Empire is also advertised.

Ethan Icon vs. Talon vs. Pretty Boy Lloyd. Manson & Rico Moon vs. SWAT Patrol. Xavier Night vs. Brandon Groom. Tonight, former WCW and WWE Star Buff Bagwell returns to the Great American Wrestling Federation at the Hosford Gameroom in Hosford, FL, at 8:00 PM to face GAWF champion Steve Goins for the GAWF title. Tickets are $10 at the door and doors open at 7:00.

Josh Crowe beat New York Gangster. Aiden Scott beat Rockin’ Black Ninja. Tim Renesto (with Charming Charles) beat Psycho Medic. USWO Jr. Champion Cousin Jason X & Petey Wright beat Justin Spade & Bryan Casey when Wright pinned Casey. Andy Douglas beat Seven (with Charming Charles). Per a stipulation, Douglas got 5 minutes with Charles, but Seven returned to the ring area and attacked Douglas. USWO Tag Team Champions Quinton Quarisma & JC Crowe beat Damien Payne & Rob C and LT Falk & Mad Man Pondo (w/Veronica Wild) by DQ when Pondo used his stop sign on Quarisma. USWO Champion Jeremiah Plunkett beat Gary Valiant (w/Miss Boogie) by DQ when Valiant accidentally hit ref Devin.

Great Championship Wrestling results from July 31 in Phenix City, AL, at the GR8 SK8 Plex, with a reported attendance of 260: Orion Bishop (with Wicked Nemesis) pinned Tex Monroe. Zero Tolerance (with Princeton Gainey III) pinned "That 80's Guy" John Bogie. Scotty Beach pinned Murder One (with Wicked Nemesis). Sonny Siaki pinned Kareem-Abdul Jamar. After the match, Siaki was interviewed by Taylor McKnight, handling ring announcing duties in place of the injured Rob Russo, and accepted David Young's challenge for the GCW Fred Ward Memorial on September 4. Micah Taylor & GCW Interstate Champion J-Rod beat Johnny Swinger & Shaun Banks (with Quentin Michaels & Tracy Taylor) after Tracy tripped Swinger. Bull Buchanan beat GCW Heavyweight Champion Cru Jones by disqualification when Shaun Banks interfered. After the match, Jones and Banks tried to hang Buchanan with a rope. Quentin Michaels had already been ejected from ringside for interfering in the match.

GCW announced this week that they are officially exploring further options in Villa Rica, GA. "These plans may not make certain other people happy", said company Director of Media Content Taylor McKnight, "but with the awesome response we have received twice in that area, we feel the need to say thank you by not only delivering a great show but also supplying a great venue to host it."

As many fans mentioned before, the only drawback to the past GCW events in Villa Rica was the heat. "The heat supplied from the action was fine", said Neal Jensen, a local fan who promises to be back anytime GCW is in town. "After a while though, as far as a climate goes, I need air conditioning at my age."

After an overwhelming amount of remarks made just like that one, GCW, being a company that listens to their fans, has cordially agreed to postpone the Villa Rica event for today at the Gold Dust Recreational Center, in order to secure a more comfortable building to run in to maximize the enjoyment of the fans.

"The building has already been secured. We aren't like other companies that post delays and never return", said McKnight. "The building is already a done deal, but we feel the element of surprise is always the best tactic. We have heard a lot of "barroom talk" about where GCW will pop up next, and we'd like to keep it a surprise; a surprise I believe the fans are going to really like. They've never seen wrestling like this before, but if you think we blew you away last time, as the legendary Bugs Bunny once said....you ain’t seen nothin’ yet, doc."

GCW has announced the following matches for the Fred Ward Memorial on September 4 in Phenix City, AL, at the GR8 SK8 Plex: "Tables, Ladders & Chairs": David Young vs. Sonny Siaki. In an "All or Nothing" match: Micah Taylor vs. Johnny Swinger. If Taylor wins he gets Tracy back, and if Swinger wins he gets Micah's contract. A bullrope match for the GCW Heavyweight Championship: Cru Jones (c) vs. Bull Buchanan.

There will also be a GCW Tag Team Championship match where the fans vote for the stipulation. Here are the results so far: "Hardcore Rules" match – 63.75%, "Texas Tornado" match – 23.13%, "Singapore Cane" match – 6.25%, "Steel Cage" match – 6.25%, and "Weasel Suit" match – 1%.

Here are the results from the Peachstate Wrestling Alliance show from July 25 at the Recreation Center in Bremen, GA, with attendance reported at 168: Ace Rockwell beat Shaun Tempers of the Devil's Rejects. "Action" Mike Jackson beat the Ultimate Dragon. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong beat the Lethal Luchador. Sal Rinauro beat El Mexicano. This match was match of the night by far, going a legit 25 minutes. Rinauro won with his feet on the ropes during the pin. However, new commissioner Shane Noles told the referee and the decision was reversed. El Mexicano won by DQ, but Rinauro retained the PWA Cruiserweight title. Bull Buchanan beat "Primetime" Elix Skipper by DQ. These two had a great match, going back and forth for 15 minutes until Rinauro tried to interfere on Skipper's behalf. He wound up nailing Elix by accident and costing him the match. Afterwards, Noles said he was tired of Rinauro's antics and proceeded to award Skipper a title shot. Skipper said it'd be worth turning down TNA money for one show to come back and beat him.

The next PWA show is August 8 from the Recreation Center in Bremen, GA, and is being advertised as a “Back to School Blast”. Advertised matches include a 10-man battle royal to determine the first PWA Heritage Champion, who will also receive a check for $,5000. Scotty Riggs versus Johnny Swinger. Sal Rinauro defends the PWA Cruiserweight Title against "Primetime" Elix Skipper. Sonny Siaki versus El Mexicano. The Ultimate Dragon defends the Southern Cruiserweight Title against Mike Jackson. Ace Rockwell versus Shaun Tempers in a rematch.

R&B Entertainment Wrestling will be in Jesup, GA, at the Cracker Williams Recreation Center tomorrow afternoon. Doors open at 2:30 PM and bell time is at 3:00. Tickets are $5. Advertised: National Championship, 4 Corners Elimination Tag Match featuring Vern Von Rashke (c) vs. "The Modern-Day Cowboy" Chris Anthony vs. Blade Walker vs. "Playboy" Jason Hayes. For the RBW Heavyweight Championship, Scotty Bullwinkle (c) vs. "The Broken Angel" FEAR. For the RBW Tag Team Championship, Fuego & Big Joe (c) vs. "The Hot One" Lance Alonte & Justin Taylor. Also advertised: "Top Story" Morgan Davis, Dallas Riley, Sektor, The Ring Lord, and The Gangsta Nation. R & B is owned and operated by Redd Groover and Billy Westberry. It is a non-profit organization that promotes wrestling shows to raise money for diabetes and other research. Redd is a former 30 year diabetic and Billy has been diagnosed with diabetes.

Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling is returning to Villa Rica, GA, on August 23, with the location to be announced. It will be the first SECW show in Villa Rica since promoter Scott East stopped running his weekly Sunday night shows there at the end of 2007 and moved to the VFW Fairgrounds in Carrollton, GA.

SECW also announced the following dates for Bremen, GA, at the Recreation Center: August 3, August 22, August 30, September 13, September 25, October 11, October 23, November 8, and November 22.

Full Impact Pro returns to the National Guard Armory in Crystal River, FL, on August 23 for "Heatstroke '08." AUGUST 2, 1963 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Don McIntyre – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Derrell Cochran defeated Bulldog Lawley > Chief Little Eagle defeated Carlos Mendoza > Bill Dromo defeated Gypsy Joe > World Tag Team Title Match: Tim Geohagen & the Proud Rebel defeated Kurt & Karl Von Brauner* by disqualification / Notes: The Proud Rebel removed his mask before the match with Kurt & Karl Von Brauner, revealing himself as Joe Scarpa. Saul Weingeroff managed the Von Brauners. Weingeroff interfered in the match, bringing the match to an end. It is unclear as to how the Von Brauners came to be recognized as World Tag Team Champions. The last reference we have shows the Assassins defending the title against the Kentuckians on October 12, 1962, in Atlanta. It was announced that Lenny Montana, Tito Kopa, Tarzan Tyler, and Mike Paidousis would be wrestling in Atlanta soon, and that Don McIntyre was negotiating with Bobo Brazil for some future dates.

AUGUST 2, 1966 (TUESDAY) – MACON, GA – MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > The Golden Terror defeated Danny Little Bear > Southern Tag Team Title Match: Enrique & Alberto Torres* defeated the Infernos by disqualification > Women’s World Title Match: the Fabulous Moolah* defeated Princess Little Cloud / Notes: Choo-Choo Lynn was handcuffed to J.C. Dykes during the match between Enrique & Alberto Torres and the Infernos. Dykes managed the Infernos. The Torres’ had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated the Medics in a tournament final on May 6, 1966, in Atlanta. The Fabulous Moolah had been billed as Women’s World Champion since she defeated Judy Grable on September 18, 1956, in Baltimore, MD.

AUGUST 2, 1968 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Johnny Walker defeated Oki Shikina > Butcher Vachon defeated Guillotine Gordon > Ray Gunkel & Bob Armstrong defeated the Rising Suns > The Professional defeated Eddie Graham > Tarzan Tyler & Brute Bernard defeated Dick Steinborn & Bill Dromo > El Mongol defeated Jack Crawford / Notes: Jack Crawford managed Tarzan Tyler & Brute Bernard. Buddy Fuller was the special referee for the match between Crawford and El Mongol, a match which was reportedly demanded by the NWA. Mike McGraw was credited as being a referee on this card.

The Super Manager managed the Super Assassins.
