Special Memorial Event comes to Brockton, MA

On Saturday night, February 19 the Drew family welcomes the wrestling world to celebrate the life of their fallen brother, Jarrod Drew, whom was killed by a drunk driver in February of 2004.  On Saturday night, February 19^th the Drew family and Lynch’s Towing welcome Top Rope Promotions wrestling to the Shaw’s Center for a star-studded event in honor friend and brother Jarrod Drew.

Money raised for the Top Rope Promotion’s wrestling event will go to the Jarrod Drew Fund.  The Jarrod Drew Fund was set up by Jarrod’s brother Ryan Drew.  Ryan Drew is a main stay in the northeast pro wrestling scene and is a native of Brockton, MA. Drew is currently part of the Top Rope Promotions organization.  Ryan, like his brother Jarrod, was born and raised in Brockton.  Ryan spent his life in Brockton and graduated from the Brockton High School in 2000.  Drew set up the Fund to help his brother’s children get into college and to bring awareness to the out come of drinking and driving.

The event at Brockton’s Shaw’s Center will feature top television wrestlers, top local  talent that are making a name for themselves, and a special charity raffle with all money going to the Jarrod Drew Fund.  Talent former from the World Wrestling Entertainment and current talent from the top federations will be joining the great cause by either appearing at the event or donating items to be raffle off at the event.  Top Rope Promotions will be running a family friendly pro wrestling event for a great cause.  This show will feature action the entire family will enjoy.

Ryan Drew has the world on his shoulders because he has faced the tragic passing of two brothers in a few years.  He plans on burning off some of his stress when he faces off with Isys Ephex in his hometown of Brockton.  Drew and Ephex will be square off in a Brockton Street Fight.  Ryan Drew is in high spirits about wrestling down the street from his old stomping ground, the Brockton High School, and plans to show Isys Ephex the entire Shaw’s Center on February 19^th.

Former WWE star Brutus “Barber” Beefcake will be appearing on Saturday, February 19^th.  The Barber is a former multi-time tag team champion in the WWE and is also a former member of the N.W.O.  Brutus plans on doing some strutting and hair cutting at the Shaw’s Center.  Beefcake will also be having a signed N.W.O. poster in the charity raffle.

Multi-Time United States Champion and former WWE star “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan will be teaming up with another WWE star Tony Atlas.  Tony Atlas is a former WWE tag team champion with the father of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Rocky Johnson.  Jim Duggan will be donating his trademark 2x4 to the charity raffle.  Duggan will also autograph his 2x4.

Current star for TNA Wrestling and former TNA X-Division champion Robbie E is no stranger to Brockton, as he appeared in the Brockton area before joining Spike TV’s wrestling program.  Robbie E will be teaming with current Top Rope Champion Tommaso Ciampa.  Ciampa was formerly part of WWE’s development organization and appeared on WWE television in the past.  Tommaso also faced of with The Undertaker on Smackdown television.

Also appearing is the famous wrestling clown Doink, Ring of Honor superstars Eddie Edwards, Davey Richards, and Mike Bennett.

Items for the raffle are currently adding up and will be a great addition to any sports fan collection.  Signed items for the raffle include such great wrestlers including Velvet Sky, Sunny, Brutus Beefcake, Rick “the Model” Martel, Antonio “the Heart Throb” Thomas, Adam Bomb, Jim Duggan and others.

A second raffle has been added to the charity event on Saturday February 19^th.  A 50/50 raffle will be set-up for another fallen brother of the Drew family, Shawn Verdone.  Shawn Verdone passed away during the early planning stages of the charity event, on February 2nd. The 50/50 raffle will go towards paying for his funeral, which was an unexpected expense on the Drew family.  The two different raffles will be the 50/50 raffle will be benefit Ryan Drew’s brother Shawn, and the raffle for wrestling items will benefit the Jarrod Drew Memorial Fund.
