Jimmy reviews Sunday Night Heat 8/28/05

Heat opening

Our hosts are Jonathan Coachman and Todd Grisham

Antonio w/Romeo vs. Val Venis
Standard stuff to start. Antonio suplex gets 2. Antonio misses a splash and Val fights back with clotheslines and elbows. Back body drop followed by the Uncle Slam. Val goes up for the Money Shot, and Romeo interfers, but Val gets a sunset flip off the top for the pin. ROCKING! Heart Throbs beat down Val afterwards, and Viscera saves. Match was nothing, but I always enjoy seeing Val win. 1/2*

Matt Striker vs. Russell Simpson
Wrist and head lockery to start. Simpson gets a backdrop suplex gets 2. Simpson tilt a whirl reversed into a backbreaker variant by Striker, and Striker gets...something...for the pin. 1/4*

We review Chris Masters interrupting Shawn from RAW.

Hurricane vs. Johnny Parisi
Parisi controls to start, going to a chinlock type move. Hurricane armdrags Parisi, but Parisi rams 'Cane into the corners. Parisi suplex gets 2. Hurricane fights back with a dropkick and clothesline. Neckbreaker and Hurricane goes up, getting a flying crossbody for 2. Eye of the Hurricane hits for the Hurricane win. *

We review Cena vs. Jericho from RAW.

We're joined by Rene Dupree w/ suit and sunglasses, who joins Coach and Todd at the announcers table.

Tyson Tomko vs. Maurice Johns
Rene informs us he's looking for a tag team partner, and he says Tomko is one of his top choices. Johns apparently causes Tomko to lose his contact lense, and Tomko boots Johns from behind and the ref stops the match. DUD

Garrison Cade and Trevor Murdoch, those creepy Deliverance guys!

Kerwin White vs. Tajiri
Tajiri kicks Kerwin, and poses with his classes. Chavo..err...Kerwin gets headscissored back in. Kerwin takes over, getting 2 off an uppercut. Kerwin chokes Tajriri with his Polo Shirt. Chavo looks a lot like Hardcore Holly with his blonde hair. Tajiri fights back with kicks, and gets the handspring elbow, followed by a spinning heel kick for 2. Kick, but Kerwin gets his foot on the ropes. Tarantula, but Kerwin rolls up Tajiri after reversing a sunset flip with his hands on the ropes for the pin. *1/2

Overall thoughts:
I liked the number of matches, I only wish the matches were better. Oh well.
