THE WAY I SEE IT 10/22

……

I want to thank all of the loyal fans who attended my WXW show this past month, October 21st as I was blessed to have the opportunity to tag team with all three of my sons for the first time. I had promised my wife that I would retire from the ring but in my heart could not retire until my memories included a match with my youngest son, Afa Jr. So in front of the best fans in the world, our WXW fans, I lived this dream. I was so proud when during the match Afa Jr. was making his way to our corner after receiving many tough shots from the other opponents of the Untouchables, Havoc and the brain behind them, Rob Dimension.

As Afa Jr. worked his way back to THE SAMOANS, Samu, LA Smooth and myself, we were reaching in to receive the tag, Afa Jr. who looked down at his arm, slapped the tattoo off my face that he honored me with when he showed me his unconditional love by putting my portrait on him forever, and reached to me for the tag. I jumped into the ring with so much pride that I must admit I felt like I was back at Madison Square Garden! It was a great night and I just wanted to share a little of it with you loyal readers that could not make the event. I can now retire from the ring with complete fulfillment!

As the warm weather fades and we head into the cooler months of fall, WXW continues to be blessed with growth, excitement, and an influx of talent from all over the country.

In particular, our tag team division has grown by leaps and bounds, and duos like the Primetime Players, Team Xtreme, the SAT's, Notorious Inc., TDSLG, the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sons of Samoa, Independent All-Stars, Untouchables, Bloodline, and BLK Out,  make me very proud.

You see, I truly believe that tag team wrestling is a very special part of our sport.  When my brother Sika and I dominated for many years as the Wild Samoans, we were simply carrying the torch of great teams that came before us, men who understood that tag team wrestling was both an art and a huge draw.  In those days, tag teams were as popular as singles wrestlers, and I am proud to say that we did our best to pass our knowledge and experience on through our family and others that carried on the tradition.

Unfortunately, tag teams haven't been getting the recognition they deserve in recent years, but I want to keep that tradition alive, so here is an exclusive announcement.  A couple of years ago, WXW held a special tag team tournament called the "Samoan Cup". Teams came from all over the world, but the winners were Homicide and Boogalou. Due to popular demand, on January 20th, 2007, we are bringing it back, bigger and better than ever.  Teams are still being finalized, but watch for announcements on www.WXWwrestling.com, as this is sure to be one of the best nights of tag team wrestling in a long, long time.

In closing, may you be blessed with good health and happiness as we receive the blessings of the coming holiday season.

God Bless!
Afa "The Wild Samoan"
