- Press Release
FwF, Old Time Wrestling and PCW…..
Funkdafied Wrestling Federation, the Delaware-based affiliate of National Wrestling Superstars, returned to the Christiana, DE Fire Company Hall (just south of Wilmington) on Sunday afternoon October 14th for "Fire House Funk". A small but spirited crowd came to see the stars of FWF and NWS.
"Fro Bro" T.R. Sparks defeated Antonio Malave to become the Number-One FWF Cruiserweight Title Contender.
Malave's experience was not enough to counter Fro Bro's determination, as he super-kicked and pinned Malave to win the match. After the match, Fro Bro was attacked by his nemesis Lumberjack Monroe until rookie cruiserweight B. Fehrm made the save.
The All-Americans (former WWE star The Patriot & Ruff Ryder & "Indian Warrior" Draven) defeated The Hate Breed (Rancid & Arkham) & Mad Dog (w/ Royce Profit).
The match was nothing short of six-man mayhem. Ruff pinned Rancid after Mad Dog aimed a golf club at Ruff, but missed and hit Rancid instead. After the match, Royce Profit blamed Rancid & Arkham for the loss, but was willing to forgive this time. The Hate Breed did not think there was anything to forgive, and left the ring, leaving Mad Dog and Profit to receive some post-match beating from their opponents.
T.N.T defeated former ECW wrestler Ole Skool.
T.N.T emerged in the old black and orange, for the first time in a long time, to the delight of the fans. Ole Skool was overpowered by the taller T.N.T, who hit his patented chokeslam to win.
Lumberjack Monroe defeated B. Fehrm.
Monroe was expected to overpower his much smaller opponent, but the rookie cruiserweight Fehrm held his own against Monroe early on in the match. Monroe eventually got the strength advantage, but was unable to put him away without using his feet on the ropes for leverage as he pinned Fehrm 1-2-3. Monroe continued to attack Fehrm after the bell until "Fro Bro" T.R. Sparks returned the favor and made the save. FWF General Manager Gino Moore ordered a handicap match on Friday October 19th in Middletown, DE with Monroe vs. both Fehrm and Sparks.
FWF Cruiserweight Champion Nicky Oceans retained his title in a Three-Way Elimination Match against Crazed and Big L.
Although Big L was not a cruiserweight, he wanted to be a part of the match and Oceans and Crazed had no opposition. Big L was actually the first to be eliminated via a small package from Oceans. Then after the two battled for several more minutes, Oceans hit a backbreaker on Crazed and pinned him 1-2-3 to retain his title.
FWF Tag-Team Champions Dark Karnival (Jo-Jo & Chio w/ The Fighting Elvis) vs. Self-Employed (J.D. Smooth & Funky White Boy) ended in a no-contest after interference from both The Gemini Trojans & The Hate Breed.
Dark Karnival came out wearing tag-team title belts from another federation. FWF General Manager Gino Moore ordered them to wear the FWF Tag-Team titles, and also reminded them that they contractually had a manager working for them, The Fighting Elvis. Jo-Jo & Chio were none too pleased, but had no choice. Smooth and Funky took the battle to the champions, and outlasted their power, and were about to pin them after a splash-legdrop combo when the Gemini Trojans rushed the ring and made an unprovoked attack on Smooth and Funky. They were driven off by the surprising appearance of The Hate Breed who came to Self-Employed's aid. FWF General Manager Gino Moore made a match between Self-Employed & The Gemini Trojans for Friday night October 19th in Middletown, DE, and also ordered that Dark Karnival would defend their tag-team titles against The Hate Breed on that same show.
Former ECW star "Dastardly" Danny Doring defeated Johnny Maxx to become the *NEW * FWF Heavyweight Champion.
Initially reluctant to get in the ring with the taller Maxx, Doring used every trick in his experienced arsenal to keep Maxx at bay. In the end, Doring held on through a sunset flip, and holding onto the ropes, pinned Maxx 1-2-3 to win the FWF Heavyweight Title. Maxx immediately invoked his rematch clause, which was granted for Friday October 19th in Middletown, DE.
FWF returns to action on Friday October 19th at the aforementioned Middletown, DE show at the Everett Meredith Middle School Gym (504 South Broad Street). FWF returns to the Christiana, DE Fire Company Hall on Sunday afternoon November 18th with its annual Toys For Tots fundraiser show.

Brett Idol (with something like 9 Busseys at ringside) defeated Jerome Daniels and Jacob Starr ina Triple Threat Match after Idol stole Daniels pin on Starr.
Mike Foxx came out with Claudia and Kate Angel and threw down his Red Team shirt. Foxx proclaimed the only team he would be on was the Faithful's team. In the tournament if he ran across a Red or Blue member he would destroy them just the same.
Franco D'Angelo advanced in Fight Win Survive by defeating Brandon Collins in a Thumbtack Match. Franco put Collins into the thumbtacks with The Silencer to win the match.
Robert Evans came out and discussed his Prince of Darkness Match later tonight against Foxx, counting on support from the fans.

They let us know that by the end of the night we would know who Idol's opponent would be in the Quarterfinals next week.
