TNA A HUGE TURN OFF LATELY

Would like your opinions…

Hello Georgie!

I'm not quite sure if you've read the TNA spoilers for tonight or not, But once again, something in the wrestling world is coming off as very wrong in my opinion, and I feel that somehow You're the person to talk to about it...

If you're not one for "spoilers" and the like, please feel free to ignore.

However, I feel that after reading what I read, something has to be said.

I've just read that NWA:TNA is planing to have Rhyno come out on TV, and do a promo on the new ECW. He's planning to throw the old ECW belt in the garbage, and light it on fire.

And while I know that this is a gimmick used well over many times, I feel that it is completely unnecessary in this case.

Sure, Not a lot of us are fans of the "new" ECW. But that doesn't mean that it should be buried, and kicked while it's down. the old-school ECW locker room, and Paul Heyman did so much for Rhyno, and made him who he is today.

And, It's important to note that while he may be happy where he is, it's evidently clear the "new" ECW is not a current threat to TNA.

There is no logic to the move to bury the old ECW. Yeah, It's dead. It will never live again. But that just means we grieve and move on. You don't dig up an old relative after they are long gone, and burn their body into ashes because you don't like what one of the relative's children have done.

In planning on doing what is "planned" to go on tonight, I feel that Rhyno is (pardon the language) Pissing on the history of the business, he's pissing all over what got him where he is, and he's pissing on the legacy that Tazz, Dreamer, Raven, and Shane Douglas built years ago.

And while some of those few may not feel that ECW now is right, and that it shouldn't even share the name of 'ECW' ... They are right. This isn't ECW. The current product is Extreme World Wrestling.

Rhyno is further smearing the memory of everything we all once loved so much by attempting and planning to destroy one of the only symbols left from it.

And That needs to change in my opinion.

Thanks so much for reading, and allowing me to say this.  -from  TBHII

TNA - Rhino's promo
To me, a total waste of time. It makes TNA look so bush league to heavily promote something, and it's just taking a swing at a show that won't even acknowledge their existence. When ECW was making grandstand challenges, it was groundbreaking. People were shocked. It was over a decade ago. After the D/X invasion of WCW, this stuff got real passe. TNA is doing 1.0 ratings, ECW is doing mid-2's. That's more than a million extra viewers every week. To close that gap, TNA needs to establish new stars, with new feuds, and new storylines. Not Rhino trying to capitalize on what Vince is doing, which if people are really interested, is going to send TNA fans over to ECW to see if there's a response. It's like Schiavone announcing Foley is winning the WWF Title. Classic stupid Vince Russo style booking. Bad move by TNA.

All the phone calls I have received so far today, everyone was turned off by last nights show.
In the beginning TNA was always the alternative.  TNA = Total Non Stop Action
Which the fans loved.  The high flyers, the six sided ring, the X Division, etc.

But after going to Spike TV, it started to look more and more like WWE.  Many meaningless promo's, more talk than action, etc.
Last nights ranting and raving just proves my point.

Vince McMahon never considered TNA as a competitor, and you will notice never mentions them on his shows.

I agree when the WWF invaded WCW back in the day, it was funny.  But it became boring.

A message to TNA - Go back to the beginning again, when TNA was exciting and fun to watch....      Georgie

I would like to hear from you.  What is your feeling about TNA??
Send me your thoughts at [email protected]
I will be printing some of your thoughts on the site.

TNA sucks. I will not be watching it anymore!

I usually agree with you but I can not agree with you when it comes to Rhyno's shoot on last nights show. I don't know what you were watching but he never talked bad or belittled ECW in anyway. He did nothing to make the "REAL ECW" look bad or did he say anything bad about Paul or Tommy. If people would of paid attention to what he was saying, they would of learned he was talking straight to VINCE.
I had no problem with what TNA did here. I'm not a BIG TIME TNA fan but I watch from time to time.
I agree with Rhyno the "REAL ECW" is dead, you can't bring it back ever, so stop trying to make money off of what was and concentrate on what is.
Smackdown is so horrible, I've not watched it in forever.
I mean come on you got the belt on someone just because his friend died give me a break. Yeah give Rey the cruiser weight title or even the U.S. title but not the World title.
I wont even begin with Raw as its so predictable it's not funny.
Anyway I'm done ranting now.......
Thanks for a great site, Jerry in VA

Jerry:
My problem last night was that TNA seemed too much like WWE. I never said anything about him badmouthing ECW.

I like TNA. I like them because they emphasize on wrestling more than the entertainment part unlike WWE, which I'm getting tired of.  I'm getting tired of the stupid storylines that make no sense, the morally offensive storylines, the horrible gimmicks, and it really angers me what they're doing to the legacy of ECW!  Speaking of that, I loved Rhyno's promo last night!  I think it was better than Joey Styles promo a couple months ago.
TNA pushes talent that should be pushed, while WWE pushes guys that suck and they're are a lot of talented guys there that they aren't doing anything with. One more thing, in TNA titles mean something. TNA actually pays attention to their tag team titles and X title. The only title that means anything to WWE is the WWE title, that's it!

I was completely discusted with TNA and Rhyno (yes I did call him Rhyno
since he just can't stop living away from the WWE and the past) after
viewing their segment.  Many claims it wasn't TNA's fault as a whole, just
Rhyno's.  This is the professional wrestling industry, stuff are scripted
and if a shoot is ever done, the management will know what they have in
store.  If Rhyno doesn't like the past coming back, why did he contribute to
bring ECW back?  The way he did was having a name like his in the
ressurection of ECW during the WWE/WCW/ECW Invasion and at last year's One
Night Stand.  He claims he holds the real ECW title, and wasn't it claimed
Rhyno won the NWA title in TNA?  If they want to play who's the real
champion, bust the current WWE title into 2 or claim the World Heavyweight
title traces back from the real NWA belt seeing when the NWA title in WCW
was physiclly renamed to the WCW and then unified with the WWE title, the
NWA just created a replica of the old NWA title calling it the NWA
heavyweight championship.  To me, it sounds hypocrital to be calling the
current ECW title fake when the current NWA belt isn't real.  I can just
imagine how ashamed Paul Heyman is.  Speaking os prostitution, it wasn't
truely Mick Foley prostituting the name of Hardcore, but Rhyno prostituted
the legacy of ECW to TNA.  How sad.

The thing that makes this rather funny is because Rhyno is pissed for being
fired from somewhere he didn't want to be all because of a flower pot.
Shouldn't he be happy he was released from somewhere he didn't like instead
of complaining he was fired?  He needs to move on into the present and
future instead of continuing to make himself look like a hypocrite and
making himself sound like a crying baby.
TNA has proven to me with their foolishness that I can no longer watch
a wrestling show of theirs without bullshit.  Right after I was discusted
with their promo, I imediately turned my TV off.  TNA is pure lame now.
They were better off with Jerry Jarrett.  I'm sure the 3 top promoters of
history are shaking their heads on how immature Rhyno and TNA was..... Vince
McMahon, Paul Heyman and Jerry Jarrett.
Because of this "turn off" I have been proven TNA really isn't quality
wrestling and they worry about business that's not apart of theirs.  I don't
like that nor will I support that.  I am officially done with TNA.

I was a fan of TNA in the beginning with it's tremendous innovation, and new stars such as Abyss or AJ Styles. Now, quite simply, I am no longer a fan of this wrestling promotion. Hopefully what TNA is now doing comes back to haunt them.

I loved Rhino's TNA rant!!! It all needed to be said. Especially what he said last week about the flower pot incident. WWE was just looking for a reason to fire him. I love TNA and will continue watching it religiously, where as WWECW continues to be boring. With all the rahashing of angles(DX,Hogan,ECW crap), it's barely watchable. The new ECW was thought by Vince to be a cash cow, but he doesn't want it to be like the old ECW(DQ's in ECW, no blood, DSW rejects fighting there and being pushed over ECW guys like Balls and J. Credible). Vince was wrong...again! The new ECW stinks, WWE stinks, TNA is the future. I'm sure Rhino's got more to say and I hope he says it! I'd rather watch Jay Lethal vs. Senshi than Test vs. Tommy Dreamer or Cena vs. Edge...again. The future of wrestling is TNA, ROH and the other indys who keep their product fresh instead of stale old garbage. TNA has more matches in one hour than WWE has in 2. TNA is not all storytelling and vignettes. It's WRESTLING. Vince needs to do ECW right or not at all and THAT is Rhino's point. Vince wants to screw wrestlers over and then beg them to come make him more money. In closing TNA and Rhino are what's right with wrestling and Vince and WWECW is all wrong!!!
Thanks,    Brian from Detroit

When they signed Christian, I was really tempted to start to watch again. I didn't. TNA is becoming more and more like WCW was.  Signing older wrestlers for a draw, and leaving the younger superstars out of the cold. Sure, Sting is a huge draw but, he's not a young pup! They have stars they help make I admit, like Monty Williams, AJ Styles, and the Aybss. Enough is Enough WCW II, quit bringing boring old wrestlers in like, Buff Bagwell, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, and Lex Luger. Heck.....Its bad enough Jeff Jarrett is still in the lime light. If they want any chance to compete with WWE, they need to look at their young stars before they look elsewhere.
