The interview with this X-Division standout is now available to hear for
FREE in Real Audio!

Here are some of the highlights from the interview, provided by fan Oliver
London, remastered by show correspondent Dan Kriegbaum.

While the anticipation is building until tonight's huge six-man tag-team
match (Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, & Jay Lethal vs. The Paparazzi) on TNA
iMPACT (11PM ET/10PM CT on Spike TV), Alex Shelley stepped into The Mayhem
squared circle for the first time in his career. Since joining up with "Big
Sexy" Kevin Nash, Alex has definitely been a star on the rise inside the
ring. He definitely brought his A Game" to The Mayhem with The Big Mosh &
Blade, which also showed that his creative skills outside of the ring are
not to be ignored.

As Alex was welcomed to the show, the talk started quick with Alex’s
thoughts on the quick success of his group, "Paparazzi Productions." Alex
said that he wasn't sure about the idea of working with Kevin Nash,
since he never met the guy before but now says that he
couldn't be happier with the opportunity. Alex then added that he has
learned a lot from Nash while being a part of Paparazzi Productions. Mosh &
Blade then talked about the rumors spreading around the internet of TNA
possibly having a second hour of television, or an additional hour in
another time slot, like having 2 programs. Alex said that he did not even
know about the second hour rumor coming anytime in the near future, but
believes that Total Nonstop Action Wrestling should use one hour solely for
the X-Division & the other hour for rest of the talent.

The interview then backtracked a bit to Shelley's "partner in crime," Kevin
Nash & his personal goals that he would like to achieve with Kevin and
Johnny Devine in the future. Shelley answered, saying that he has a lot of
stuff he would like to do, including continuing just to be ourselves
on TV. He named A1 as a guy he would like to see join The Paparazzi
if they could add more people.

The Big Mosh then plugged tonight's iMPACT match (vs.
Sabin/Dutt/Lethal), and matches this Sunday at Hard Justice. He then
mentioned the recent promos we've seen on TV building up Nash vs.
Sabin, including wrestlers from Madagascar, not Nicaragua, which The Big
Mosh mentioned, and Shelley corrected. Shelley then put over the talent in
Madagascar, saying there are superstars beyond belief there. The
quality of athletes they have in Madagascar, unparallel. Super Blue Cross #6
I've never seen a technician like that in my life.

Mosh went on to ask about the feedback he's been getting about the
said match between Kevin Nash and Chris Sabin. Alex said that nobody asks
him about that match, because that's their match, them going
head to head, but added that everybody seems to be enjoying the work
that the Paparazzi have been doing together, and that if anybody
doesn't like it, he hasn't heard about it.

With Jeff Hardy's imminent return to World Wrestling Entertainment, Blade
and Mosh asked Alex his personal opinions of Jeff Hardy working in TNA --
and if he would ever be welcomed back into their locker room if the WWE
didn't work out. Alex's complete and opinionated answer was as
follows: "Well, as far as my interaction with Jeff goes, aside from watching
him draw on his arms for hours before each show, and wrestling him once in
2004, where he proceeded to get green paint all over me, which was a pain in
the ass to wash off, I might add.  I really can count on one hand how many
times I talked to the guy. As far as his career moves go, I'll be honest
with you guys, I don't mean to shoot your question down, but I could care
less. I have bigger things to worry about in my own life, you know --  just
what I'm gonna have for dinner concerns me more than what Jeff Hardy does in
the WWE. You know, I'm more concentrated on my job & my upcoming tour of
Japan for Zero-One MAX than I am anything to do with Jeff Hardy. And as far
as that guy goes down in Orlando (that dresses up like him), that's creepy,
and I find a lot of Jeff Hardy fans are incredibly creepy. So,
congratulations, but he probably has the most annoying fan base in the
world. That's it though, whatever he does is his business. You know like,
that's his call -- he's his own man, I'm not gonna comment on his decision."
He later added that Jeff sold lots of merchandise, and made a lot of money
as well throughout his time in TNA, ending it with saying it
doesn't affect my life at all, so, I really don't care.
With the mention of creepy fans, Mosh went on to ask Alex what would have to
be his weirdest or most uncomfortable fan experience to date. Shelley
explained that he has not had many, adding  I honestly don't
consider myself a big star, or any type of star at all." He did think of a
recent story, though, and told it. Alex said a little kid asked him for an
autograph Sunday night, because ;you never want to shoot down a little
kid. He went on to describe how the kid came up to him with a little
strip of paper, about the size of a fortune cookie, and asked Alex to sign
it. He said that he read the paper to see that it was a Psalm from the book
of Matthew. So, in being torn on whether or not to sign it, and not wanting
to be sacrilegious, he signed the back, blank side of it. He added,
but it was a bit creepy, more of a moral issue.  Blade then
joked, asking why somebody couldn't get the kid a napkin or
something. Alex agreed, saying he would've gladly signed a
piece of paper, I don't know why he insisted on signing this
Psalm of Matthew, but here we are!

There were prior rumors floating around the internet of Alex not liking his
new "Paparazzi Productions" T-Shirt, so The Mayhem gave Shelley the live mic
& the opportunity to address the truth of these rumors. Alex said he was
shocked when this all went down, saying that TNA didn't come to him
asking for ideas or input on his shirt, which he thinks would make sense. He
also didn't think sherbet orange was a good color, saying that it
might taste delicious, but doesn't really look good to wear out. He
also said they rushed the shirts out on short notice, again adding he was
shocked that they didn't go to him for ideas, saying he wouldn't
wear it out in public, and probably wouldn't buy it and
hey; you can't argue with success. In the end I was just
happy they put out merchandise for me. What's done is done"

Blade & Mosh asked Alex whether or not he sees any problems currently
between TNA & Ring Of Honor, or if based on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
wanting to expand its horizons, if he could see a rift developing down the
line -- where talent would need to choose ROH or TNA. Shelley said he
definitely sees a potential of that happening, as both companies are trying
to grow and venture into newer markets/areas. He also gave The Mayhem a
pretty bold statement with regards to his status with ROH -- "Yeah,
I'm pretty much done there." Later, though, he said They (Samoa
Joe, Chris Daniels, other TNA talent ROH uses) will always have a spot in
Ring of Honor, but unfortunately, I will not, and I am done with that
company. For awhile, not forever, I'm never gonna say forever and I
would like to go back, but for the time being I can't see myself going
back for awhile. The Big Mosh then mentioned the first ROH title
change in 2006 coming this weekend with Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness
with the Pure and ROH Titles on the line. Alex said, although he
didn't know about the match prior, the ROH Title vs. ROH Pure Title
unification bout will get a lot of fans buzzing & should be a fantastic
match, but not a "Match Of The Year" candidate. "I personally don't
believe in labeling matches as Match Of The Year, he said, saying
that it's all a matter of opinion .

Mosh also brought up TNA's first-ever Sunday night Pay-Per-View outside of
the friendly confines of The Impact Zone in Orlando, FL -- "Bound For Glory"
in Detroit, MI (Alex's hometown) this October. Alex said that he is
definitely looking forward to the event, saying he ;can probably run
there if he wanted to; since the venue is within 5 minutes from his
house. With the success of last weekend's ticket sales & the autograph
session at The Compuware Arena, Alex said that he feels that now is
definitely the time to move away from Orlando, saying it would be really
cool to see house shows every weekend in different markets. He said that TNA
definitely needs to go away from Orlando, “it's becoming overkill",
saying that other markets would definitely do well, including the obvious
Philadelphia and New York, and thinks Chicago would be great, with their big
ROH fan base. He then added he would love a show in Las Vegas, to experience
being there for the first time.

Make sure you fans listen to this entire 40+ minute interview, which also
includes: thoughts on how Kevin Nash has seemed to now turn into a company
man(which didn’t seem like he was in WCW), an update on his shoulder
injury (and how much rehab he is currently going through), his thoughts on
the phenomenon that is MySpace (including a hilarious story about meeting
someone on there), more about ROH, DVD sales, and some wrestlers making good
money & who he sees himself matching up against in the coming months ahead
on TNA programming.
